  1. works fine on my windows 8 phone :music_whistling:
  2. shaky all over or just when centered? I use a pause tracker hotkey in the options for when I need to click something and a dead zone for the center. I have never got it smooth so to say but I also haven't played with it to much
  3. yes just purchase the upgrade version.download dcs world and blackshark upgrade. Make sure bs1 is installed and activated. Install dcs world and bs2 upgrade and activate. If you want to skip the hassle of having to install bs1 everytime you want to install bs2 buy the full version of bs2
  4. Only blackshark 2 will integrate into dcs world. If I'm not mistaken bs on steam is the original.
  5. glad to hear you got it working
  6. In the forum I posted there is an updated dll and an input.lua. I'm not sure if they are still needed but it used to not work without those files. You would have the control settings in the options but no response in sim.
  7. You also need a config file in the racetrack directory where the exe is located to get 60fps from the camera. Here is the link as to what you need. http://codelaboratories.com/forums/viewthread/117/P10/
  8. I'm not sure if there are profiles as its more a user preference. I'm currently using facetracknoir and it does the job once you get it tuned. I've never tried trackir or facetrack but I hear they work much better. I find myself having to pause tracking a lot of times due to the view bouncing and not being able to flip switches.I have a rather large dead zone at center due to this as well. If you can't get it to work properly in sim check this thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87436&highlight=freetrack&page=7
  9. You can bypass the steam version once you get your cdkey and download dcs world and the a10 module from the dcs site. Your steam cdkey will still work.
  10. The other option would be to make a mission in the me
  11. there was a thread a while back but I couldn't seem to find it with a search.
  12. what voltage did autotune set for the CPU? From what I've seen autotune goes way overboard on CPU voltage.
  13. Dcs is more CPU dependant. With your current system the only thing I would really recommend at this time would be another 4gb ram. I went from an x6 1090 @ 4.0 to a 2500k @ 4.8 and gained maybe 5-10 average fps. Ultimately its up to you if you want to spend your money. There was a thread that compared fps on a preset track but I can't seem to find it. At the least I would advise you to wait and see what the next group of video cards and CPUs bring. I myself am waiting for the gtx700s for an upgrade.
  14. All the modules other than bs1 will auto replenish an activation one month after you use your last so no need to worry about that. As for bs1 you can submit a support ticket and get a new serial in the event you run out. As for the activation issue I can't really help other than redownloading the newest file. Or a full reinstall. I'm not at my PC right now but does the bs2 activation window let you deactivate or is the option grayed out? Not sure if I helped at all as I didn't run into any issues. Here's what I did. 1. Install and activate bs1 to directory other than "program files" or "program files(x86). I've seen a few posts where dcs products do all sorts of crazy stuff in the program files folder. Ie. C:\gamrs\dcs 2. Install and activate dcs:world again c:\games\dcs 3. Install and activate...one module at a time in any order. I usually start with bs2 that way if I have an error I can fix it and not worry about the other modules. This is a newer system they are using so there is bound to be some bugs. The old way meant every time an update came out you would have to download the full a10 and bs2. So give them time. Hope this helped and good luck.

  16. Like he said. I've owned both ati now amd and nvidia since the days of voodoo 2 and buying from a company that offers a good warranty I have never had a failure before it was time to upgrade. I would be leaning to operator error in this case. Considering there was no problem until he took his machine apart to clean.
  17. when you get your ssd make sure you google ssd optimization. It will give instructions on how to best set up your ssd. Tips like moving your temp files and internet cache to the mechanical drive and that sort of thing.
  18. I didn't see anything about core unlocking in the specs. Usually its an advertised feature. Google reviews for the motherboard and they should tell you. In theory a core unlocking motherboard can unlock the other two cores but there is also a gamble as to whether they are just disabled or didnt pass quality control. A quick g google search showed pile driver will be compatible with am3+. Have you thought about going the intel way? I went from a 1090t to a 2500k for around 500 and won't be going back to amd in the near future. As for the ssd that might be a little tight on space. What I did with mine was put heavy load time games on my ssd then made a 250gb partition on my mechanical drive since the first partition will be the fastest part and put games like bf3 on there. With ssd prices on the fall it might be better to wait as the only thing it helps is load time
  19. I would go the build your own route. If youve never do it before and need help there are tons of videos on youtube that will walk you through. Most of the manufacturer manuals are fairly good as well. Just do proper research read reviews, look at warranty, that kind of stuff. The motherboard manufacturer web site will have a list of compatible memory although I've found then to be rather outdated. The memory I use isn't on the compatible list for my motherboard but I've had no issues. As for the power supply you can use a power supply calculator to get a rough estimate as to what is needed then go two or three hundred watts above that to reduce wear and tear. A power supply that runs constantly at 60% capacity will last longer than one that runs at 95% capacity. The power supply is something you dont want to go cheap on. If you plan to sli in the future make sure you have enough left over wattage. The memory is really the only thing you should have to worry about compatibility with. Video cards hdd dvd drives should have no issues with compatibility as long as you have the slot/connection for it. As for assembly, everything will only fit in the proper slot and in the proper way with minimal force so its easier than you would think. I was in the same place when I did my first build a few years back but I wouldn't go back to buying a per built. If you have a current computer that you're not going be be using after your new build you can strip the hard drive and dvd drive to keep cost down. Hope this helps
  20. Steam does it automatically I'm not sure what version they are at but steam is always behind since they do their own testing. you can get your serial number from steam and use that with the dcs website download. the best bet is to download t the full game and avoid patching. With the newest version you would also need to download dcs: world since the aircraft are now just modules.
  21. Have you tried americas army 3?
  22. I think what he is thinking is dcs world in a box with a code to activate a10, bs2, or a future release. So you would pay you 60usd and pick what module you want.
  23. Setting it is fairly easy you may have to adjust the timing as well. Most memory nowadays has an xmp profile than can be loaded in the bios and it sets the frequency and timings to the factory specifications. Edit:Yeah what he said...the sweet spot from a memory article I read once seemed to be low latency 1600 ram. After that the price to performance wasn't worth it. The easiest way is to buy the ram that is the frequency and price you want set it up in the bios and youre good to go.
  24. You could save a little by getting an oem copy of windows. The downside is no support from microsoft and the serial is tied to the motherboard so you can't transfer to another pc.
