  1. at kickstarter completion, that was the deal, for me at least. 100% sure
  2. Negative Sir, it was on Kickstarter completion (the p51 stuff). Again maybe they sent it but, however I am merely asking for confirmation of such, to which i am met with blank replies.
  3. Hans, how much are you in for and what have you got?
  4. GT 5.0, thanks, but the reward structure is a mess, I was in before the rewards were changed. I was not interested in tshirts and mentions. I chose a reward that gave me flyables, manuals at the level was a bonus. Now in the rewards as you have instructed it merely states everything at the previous level. The thing is in the new structure my level doesn't even exist? Its a mystery as to what the previous rewards were and how the new rewards affected the people that had already pledged prior to their introduction. This is listed somewhere and I cannot find it. If you look at the various rewards structure diagrams that people have put out in an attempt to decipher all this, the original $200 does not even feature in there? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20586543/DCS%20WWII%20Non-Official%20Brochure_RevD.pdf One needs to delve into the communication from Ilya regarding how the rewards changed to see who gets what and not after the fact. I cannot make sense of any of it. The issue I have really is not the keys, I have a key, however am of the belief that some additional keys should be due, at the time the kickstarter was successful. My correspondence with the people of RRG has been one way only, poor. The lack of any correspondence from anyone at RRG to a simple query is really pissing me off. If I am wrong in any of my expectations or assertions I will be the very first person to apologies without question or argument, publicly. At this juncture though I am in the dark, (and $200 dollars out of pocket) asking for clarification and being met with nothing! My first post in this thread was mid Nov last year. I am off the belief that I was due Mustang keys at kickstarter success. I am not saying they were not sent, I am asking that if I was due keys please send them again, as they went into gmail spam and were deleted. No other kickstarter mail was sent to spam, my istake, maybe. If I am not due, just say so, ffs. In all honesty, I would've still supported the project even with no rewards at all, because I know it will be a success, its that good. Just communicate, please.
  5. pman, I am the biggest DCS fan, honestly. I have bought almost everything from them in the past, only thing I don't have is the MI8 and that's cause I don't even have time to fly what I have. I'm just really annoyed about this, and RRG is DCS's chosen partner. If they drop the ball it reflects on DCS, as it would with any partnership in business. If the rewards are such that my dollars don't entitle me to have anything fine come out and say so, my next question would then be why do people with less contribution get more, clear as mud. Who knows. The silence is deafening!

  7. GT, I can categorically state that before the awards were F@%k#D with, if you went through the 'original backer levels' preceding my $200 level I am entitled to 2 x P51D keys, there were some manuals , a frikkin t shirt of sorts, beta access to the 190 as well a 190 keys. The P51D keys were to be sent immediately on Kickstarter success/completion. People have received keys that were on the original tiers, I am not saying they never sent mine, however it is not in my inbox and I suspect it went to spam. My humble (although bloody agitated now) request was merely to resend the email, I provided all the necessary people with the info to do so yet got buggerall in return. never again. edit: and I own the P51 already have for some time, its no matter, I am done with this thread, it just upsets me and paints DCS in a bad light.
  8. No response equals no confidence, simple as that.
  9. Sorry you are quite correct. I think this is more an E-3 than E-4 (or an incomplete 4?), and the only reason I say this is he does mention the auto prop switch which was hard wired to manual. E-3's were manual whilst E-4's had the autoprop function.
  10. Not sure how much can be gleaned from this from a devs perspective, it is after all anecdotal albeit from a experienced pilot. Main thing is its an E-1 account, a far cry off a K4. There were significant changes/improvements made along the way in almost every respect (powerplants, aerodynamics, wings, weapons, etc) and it seems that the K4, from what I have read was born out of a necessity in an attempt to rationalize all the other variants flying at the time into one, to reduce the cost of maintenance across the board.
  11. Sorry pman, never saw that as I just skimmed the post. Never the less a informative article. I always knew the 109 was more temperamental on the ground , take off and landings as well but never really understood why. I thought it was a result of a shorter distance between the wheels, wrongly so. Rob clarifies this point succinctly in his write up.
  12. Flying the Messerschmitt Bf-109E - by Rob Erdos, Vintage Wings of Canada Flying the Messerschmitt Bf-109E - by Rob Erdos, Vintage Wings of Canada In case this has been missed by some this is a fantastic insight into the E-1. Relevent to this discussion is the undercarriage of the 109, why it was done like this and the pro's and con's thereof. Its a really entertaining article with some interesting comments all round. Well worth a read. http://www.vintagewings.ca/VintageNews/Stories/tabid/116/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/124/language/fr-FR/Bouncing-Clouds--Flying-the-Messerschmitt-Bf-109.aspx
  13. $200 in, no P-51 keys, no response from the devs, nadda, mutter mutter :(
  14. bah humbug, still no keys for my 200 dollars.
  15. Sennheiser HD 650, track clip fits perfectly. edit: and if anyone is looking for a good mike for their audiophile headsets, this is really good. http://www.modmic.com/ Using it with my 650's
  16. Hi Before they messed with the rewards, when I pledged there were certainly 2 p51 keys included in the mix at the level I was at with 190 beta and other stuff like manuals or something. Now its just a mess, to much vodka I guess, never again.
  17. All coming along nicely
  18. I got nothing wrong other than missing a mail it seems. In for $215 on kickstarter, not paypal. I suspect they sent it the guys did send it out, but it went into spam on gmail and it is now gone. Anyone else using gmail and receive theirs in the spam folder?
  19. Nice skin Fredman  Also tried the upload on DCS user files but it just failed  For those interested here a link to the real aircraft. http://www.airstrike.co.za/queen-of-hearts/
  20. Thanks yoyo, that just confirms then it was in spam and deleted. I dont recall seeing it, maybe I am wrong. Hopefully when the new website is up I can claim my keys then if it reflects on my account. I wasnt also asking for individual sets of anything, just for them to resend to the orginial email address they sent to, which I again sent to them. Just a simple search in the sent items would pick it up and resend.
  21. Yup, zero response to pms mails and message on kickstarter. I just want them to resend my mail, thats all, not to much to ask is it :dunno:
  22. I have done some work on the main spring. I had a number of custom springs made up locally to test to reduce the tension required to move the joystick itself off the center point. This, is not a problem flying a A10, but flying a Huey or something like IL2 you have to constantly have the stick just off the center and adjust very fine movements to fly properly. The way the mechanism works inside though is that the main spring and the 4 little corner springs work in unison. If the main spring is to weak, the stick will not center. This is more pronounced when you move the stick forward and release, as it is top heavy in that direction. So a balance is required between weakening the main spring and strengthening the little springs. I have only done one part of this and have a spring that moves like butter now and centers when left alone, except for the forward movement. It almost centers, hence some work on the little springs , I think. It is a much more pleasant flying experience, and also makes adjustments for say air refueling in the A-10 much more manageable imho. Some considerations when doing this though is that you need to maintain the same compressed spring height of the main spring! There is limited space in the housing where the spring sits, so if a modded spring when fully compressed is taller than the stock spring fully compressed you will loose some movement in the extremities of the joystick axis. I found this out with one of the springs I had made. Using the same materials by adding an extra coil to the spring you effectively weaken the tension thereof, however you increase the height of the spring when it is compressed. I eventually ended up using slightly thinner materials (less resistance) maintaining the same compressed spring heights. I settled on one that I have been using for about 3 months now and its great. I still want to mod the 4 other springs and explore some more options for the main spring, but for the sims I fly its a vast improvement on the stock spring and it does not cost and arm and a leg to do.
  23. Turns out I have a trip to Cape Town on Thursday the 12th of December for a meeting. No idea how that happened  I have a management meeting the next day in Durban, but if I can get out of that I will be Huey' ing on Friday the 13th :fear: :) Hmmm. Sounds perfect!
  24. The whole flight, maneuvers, etc have been green lighted by the local aviation authorities, including an ex commander of an attack chopper sqn. In real terms (imho as a layman) the risks are no more than any normal flight from what I have read on it, a catastrophic failure at low or high alt is going to amount to a meat cluster bomb in both cases. The maneuvers are simply a low level flight, a few high bank turns and such that any heli pilot worth their salt will be able to perform quite comfortably, and the Huey is being flown well within its limits/flight envelope the whole flight. It's just not the average ride you would usually get as a pax in a chopper. I'll sign whatever they want me to sign, no worries.
