I finally got to fly (yesterday) my pakzone f4u (bought it a year ago) but unfortunately I found out that my rc skills are rusted since the poor airplane now makes part of the landscape.... It became part tree; it is to high to get it. :doh:

If it was one on one; hornet vs su-30 then it would be up to the pilot; but we know that is very unrealistic; since there is no way that a hornet would go into a fight without support from other airplanes. Have you guys seen the super hornet demos? it is insane! the only way a su-30 could outmaneuver a superhornet would be with tvc and power (hard to know for sure without performance numbers) anyway the superhornet is a fantastic airplane; it would not be nice to have to face it even if you are on a mki. Another issue the lack of info on the performance numbers on the su-30 mki's radar and ecm suit.

Provably not the most pleasing airplane to observe; its beauty lays on all the things it allows you to do. Even ugly airplanes can be pretty; what about the mig-21; it is not an su-27 but man I love how it looks.

I'm really interested on pursuing my passion for airplanes; I already have a degree (totally unrelated) so I was thinking on trying to get into GA Tech to study either aerospace Engineering or Industrial Design. I figure I need some preparation before applying to college since I'm 26 and I forgot most of the calculous I studied in high school. We worry about japan; but what about all those nuclear tests done in the past by several countries. My issue with nuclear energy is that it takes too much time for the waste to degrade and there is not bullet prof method of storing the waste. Nuclear power defenders say that nuclear power is one of the most efficient way of produce energy; but why not develop new and cleaner methods for producing energy; some argue the technology is not here now!; and I say yes it is not here yet because we keep dedicating too much effort to work on what we know it worked before; do you wan't an example? combustion engine; if we had had the need to work on electric engines and batteries 50 years ago; I'm sure most of us would be driving electrical cars; but that is not the case because we never had to think about oil until recently. We can get energy from the sun and the wind; why not dedicate more man power to work on new technologies?

Diego are you studying there? is it a good place to prepare to study aerospace engineering? Thant a-10 looks sharp! the c-47 with the building behind reminds me of WWII pictures very nice.

Did the pilot make it? looks like he ejected; unreal stuff; still a tragedy that we can't fix our problems without killing each other.

I used my vista and installed a-10 which I guess comes with direct 10; my issue is that I may be able to fix the sound issue but will work but at very low settings; since I don't believe my macbook can take the load of the sim; I had the first beta of a-10 I'm not sure if the release version of the game would take less resources; ergo I;m thinking that the money I spend on windows seven could go into a pc with better specs. They were just scared of having a grounded mki on America waiting for parts. It is not that the airplane could not operate like the Americans.

.....that is why I'm saving to buy me a good gaming rig; meanwhile I'll have to be strong an play black shark; and lock on while enjoying the hardware quality of apple.

Alright let me tell you my experience with boot camp on an apple: I run lock-on on my second gen Intel Imac and runs nicely; black shark not so good but; it works ok with low settings; I did had to wrestle with drivers trying to get my 28" tv to work as a primary display with no success; I also tried a-10 on a mac-book pro but the computer runs without audio; I could not solve that problem so... if you really want to play a-10 with good performance and without problems get a pc instead of messing with boot camp; it is too much trouble when you can't get the drivers to work on windows; and it is even worst when apple don't provide decent drivers even after claiming that you can operate windows on a mac; it may work but loosing something; for my imac I could not connect another display (it works on MAC OS) ; and for my macbook pro the audio was dead. It is not an economic option to use a mac for gaming because: 1- If you buy a mac for gaming; they cost way more than a pc; for the same money you can put together a pc with better performance. 2- Add to the big price tag the cost of windows 7 3- You may run into driver troubles like I did; you won't get help from the kids they have at the apple store; they will install the same drivers you already have on the disk that comes with the Imac. 4- if you are getting an Imac be prepared to get an usb extention port since if I'm not mistaking you will have very few usb ports; I have 2 external drives; trackir; x-52; keyboard; tablet bamboo so I had to buy an usb extension port. add that to the price! 5- the only things you can upgrade on the imac (if you need to ) are the memory and hard drive; imacs come with the video card welded into the board so there is no way to upgrade your video card like you can with a cheap gaming computer. 6- if you use a macbook pro; you will loose battery life since windows is not optimized to save energy like the default mac OS does. I'm not trying to say apples are bad; it is just that they are not the best machines for gaming if that is your goal. You said you use your mac for work right? I'm not very adept of the idea of messing with windows and drivers on a (mac) work computer; before you mess around with bootcamp; make sure you have a back-up of all your stuff in case something goes wrong with your installation. Don't get me wrong; you can try to see if it works; you may get lucky and won't have problems with drivers; but it is better to use your mac for work and get a dedicated game friendly pc.

No one can deny the cool factor of the apache but I just don't feel comfortable holding the responsibility of deploying weapons; but I guess training and dedication can overcome that type of feeling. If it was me my two options would be the apache or the uh-60; but probably I would go for the uh-60; I love the idea that you can do a lot more stuff than the apache; you can rescue people; do medevac; you can transport stuff; do ground support; you can do infiltration missions and so on... I guess that no matter what you choose you can't go wrong; so good luck and do your best every day! Once I asked some cadets and my city air-force; which helicopter would they rather fly; the uh-1h or the uh-60; their answer was: "we don't care if it is an uh-1 or uh-60 both are awesome"

Maybe they could not scape to malta like the mirages did; that pretty much shows that the iranian people are tired of living oppressed; lest hope they manage to secure a better future.

Cool stuff but they should have chosen a easier model to fly; something self stabilizing like a high wing with positive dihedral airplane; that would have save them from crashing that much.
