Hey guys, Been searching this here but can't find anything. I'm unable to change my antenna elevation in TWS mode. RWS mode let's me change my. Radar antenna elevation. Once i switch to TWS, i can no longer change it. Any ideas why? Known bug? Feature? Very odd. I'll see a target at 29k from DL, and then can't adjust my antenna to see the target so I can lock on... I just figured there'd be a way to "ack" the messages, or it doesn't fill until it gets n that far. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Hey guys, Jumped into the KA-50 after years and years of not playing. I have one major problem. I can't get trim to work. It's keyed to my X55 setup. I press it (tried pressing once, pressing/holding and going where I need to put it), and I hear the "click" for it. yet when I go back to center, trim does not stay. I messed with all 3 trim options in special settings for KA-50, I checked and verified trim is not setting correctly with the surface controls thingy (R-CTRL, ENTER). I changed my deadzone to 4 on each axis... nothing works... any help?

VR headset vs Track IR - Which do you prefer?
razorseal replied to razorseal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yes, competitively track IR for sure. zooming in, little head movement to see behidn you. with VR, you def lose that edge. but it sure feels more "real" (minus we need higher res headsets) -
Hey guys, So I wanted to make this post but i've been neglecting posting about. I recently (well 6 months ago) got a Oculus headset... I've been wanting it for a while and wife finally got it as a christmas gift. First thing I did was to launch DCS to see this realism and the feel of "being there" most talked about. They weren't lying. feeling inside the plane really makes you feel "cramped" and inside... you look over your shoulder like you really would to look down etc. Then I started doing some "button pushing" and came to realize being able to read the radars, the hud etc in detail was fairly hard. I also couldn't zoom in like when I use my track IR, so I had to constantly lean in to take a "closer look" and also hover the mouse over buttons to see if it was the right one. I didn't even try the hand glove thingy cuz then I have no idea how I'm going to push the button and hold the HOTAS at the same time... Then I tried some BFM. boy did my back get a work out! with my Track IR, I would just slightly turn my head and I could see behind me fairly well. Not alot of motion... with the VR headset, I have to actually LOOK behind me, so I'm constantly turning my back, leaning over etc (I have a obutto race cockpit). For AI maybe it's fine, but doing this in a multiplayer enviroment I would feel would put me at a disadvantage... So I noticed lately I no longer use the VR headset and went back to the Track IR. It surprises me because most people have said once you go VR, you can't go back... and here I am.. What gives? What do you prefer? How do you deal with the problems I've dealt with?

It's a very fun module, but it's missing some core stuff like improved TPOD and radar gunsight. I feel you'll have more fun with JF-17 as general purpose or F-18 for A2A or MP A2G with JTAC lasing for you. (AGM65E, LGBs etc.)

Thanks. Sounds like sometime in February

Thanks for letting me know!

Damn, I watched that thing like 5 times. How did I miss it. Thanks (was that the one with really low volume where u can barely hear it? lol)

I can't figure out what the number inside the box is when i got someone locked in the air. It changes, and almost seems randomized. I thought it was DL ID number, but it's not... any help? also, I haven't tested, but can you lock more than 2 targets with the TWS DTT mode? (like in F16 where u can shoot 4 120Cs in sequence). I've only tried upto two, and now I got the game off, and don't wanna go back and check. lol

I never had people delete my marks in MP. who does that!? lol

The TGP is excellent. It's so easy to use and not complicated. By far one of my favorite features of the plane. One thing I've found annoying so far is that I have to arm each pylon for the same type of bomb. If you forget, they're not going to explode. lol I just did more flying. I'm really bad with this plane in dogfighting. lol... Just can't find that sweet spot. Which is fine imo. the red side has some decent dogfighters available to them, just not good bombers. This will do that for me with some ability to get outta dodge if I have to.

I don't think it's that bad. lol... Especially the outside. I think it looks great. inside is fine except the gray panels

Yeah, the smoke is def worth mentioning. You'll see me coming... lol I do agree with it being closest to F18 (wing profile is a hybrid of F18 and F16). also I agree with loss of pitch authority. I was coming in hot to the deck and ended up crashing. I couldn't pull up lol. I average 6Gs. I didn't see too many 8Gs, I'll have to look again. when I pulled that hard, I was losing energy very fast SPI with RWR is nice because it ranges radar pings for you. MWS is very cool too. and I like hearing max aoa, low speed etc as well. Prefer the voices I guess.

Yep, exactly. It' hard for me to explain and compare because well... Even though I'm a pilot, I'm not a figther pilot. I've never gone upside down and pulled more than 2-3 Gs in a GA plane for fun lmao. This plane feels like it's on rails. I like with the F16 and F14 there is buffeting on high Gs. The whole plane shakes. FCS is not going to plane from shaking and all. you feel more immersed and feel the plane more (in our virtual chairs scenario). The 6 G just doesn't feel like it's enough. It doesn't bleed speed very fast, but it does bleed. It's controllable with low speed and doesn't lose control like F14. It's not as powerful as the other jets so it's hard to "zoom and boom". I would say it compares to the F18 when flying, but with less power. again though. I am an amateur and not very good with dogfights, take my critque with grain of salt lol. The plane is fun to fly, but fuel dependent. I feel like EFM is fine, but I have no idea how it flies. it will be fun for ground attacks and a secondary role as a BVR A/A... if in a dogfight, you'll be full afterburner the whole time and you got like 5 minutes of fuel before you crash and burn lol Some people have said this thing is going to be a killer in dogfights. I would have to disagree. Put me in a tomcat and let me see what you can do against my noob ass. F16 and F18 vs this. I'm not sure. I've done best with F14s in dogfights.

Alright... Here is my take before bed. Setup a mission. 2 F4s followed by 2 F16s coming at me. without fuel tanks, you're not going to last taking all 4 (VVR, not BVR). with fuel tanks, you're severely limited to 5Gs and it's just not enough for turn and burn. The plane has a nice roll rate, and decent sustained turn. Just not able to make tight turns like the F16 or F14 imo. so anyways, played around getting used to the plane for a little. I was able to fight it out with the F4s alright. F16s were another story. (This is AI). I then changed my plane to F14 with the same mission.... Took out the F4s instantly. They couldn't hang with me. F16s... one of them got me, and took out hydarulics. I still had the engine... just as that was happening, I said **** it and shot off 2 phoenixes I had for the hell of it. They went maddog and knocked out 1 F16. The sidewinders weren't locking on (from when I got hit I think). so I turned to gun and without having radar assist, I got a decent solution. quick BRAAAPPP and that F16 was gone too. Maybe I need to get used to this plane, or I'm just good in the F14 or other planes I'm more used to. I personally don't think I'll take this plane out for any dogfights anytime soon. I'm better off in the M2K, F14, F18 or F16.

ah... S1 up. I don't like the gun piper for it though. Not to mention I gotta remember to turn it on and press feed. Plane's fault. not dev. lol

I got the SD-10s figured out... I need to figue out how to engage dogfight mode. I see DGFT VS, BS etc modes... but how do I engage DGFT mode for quick ACM radar modes?

[FIXED] CTD since latest update, not sure what's causing it.
razorseal replied to JackHammer89's topic in Fixed Bugs
I never had DCS crash on me until I started flying JF-17 I can provide crash logs as well. Where are they? Let's see what mine say.
