Let me ask this here before I make a post about it. What is typical altitude for se drivers to drop LGBs (and jdams, which we'll get soon) during modern engagements we've seen in oef/oif? Assuming no air threats, Sam etc. Not sure if f15s did any CAS stuff, but I assume they did. I also assume there was show of force etc which means they dropped pretty damn low so I don't see them climbing back upto 20k etc.

Same. I thought it was weird as well. I tried to put in a sp into ufc scratchpad and hit thr pb17 and nothing happened. Abd couldn't figure out how to go back to 1. So how do you turn on sp? Forward acq?

Add Reverse Clearing for the GAU-8 and possibly other Gatling Guns!

Just don't see why adding screeching sound would be a bad or useless thing. We can't feel things in sims, so audio additions are a nice welcome. I mean when you fire the F16, a little door opens in the back for venting or something. no idea what it is, but itwas a requested feature. I've never seen it until bogey dope made a video about it. lol -
I am turkish and have some knowledge of the jet. I can teach you some flying and how to bomb targets and air to air if you'd like. I am not very good but it will help you get the basics. we can do it in turkish or english, whatever you prefer. I responded to you on reddit. if you have no knowledge, you need to learn some very basics of flying, probably on a L39 or F5. some youtube videos of flight principles will help too.

I'm in the same boat as you. I auto start my jets, get them going and just have fun. would just be more fun to do it others. Perhaps squadrons are not what I'm looking for. I can't AAR for the life of me so I play within my means of fuel depending on the jet I fly. I have nobody to practice formation flying with except AI and do my missions alone... like you said, it's like running my own missions but online with others I don't speak to. kinda boring. but it's hard for me to justify scheduled flights due to busy life and I can't get qualified for AAR. so I just play by myself. perhaps squadrons are not what we're looking for, but a group of individuals who just want to fly together. even a basic 2 ship attacking a waypoint target together could be fun

How to assign default jet PTT buttons to SRS
razorseal replied to razorseal's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Ok I'll have to find that option when I get home. -
Got it. Thanks! How do you change the fuse height from the pacs? I'll see if I find a youtube vid on it but I didn't see it.
-
I didn't see where I can adjust this. Is that the "1200" i see on the station on armt page on your screenshot? Do I just enter the numbers on ufc and hit the station osb? Honestly when I fly thr f16 or a10, i never change any settings with thr cbu. So I'm not well versed in all its settings. Once I figure out how to change it to 1200, I'll try again. What does the higher/lower burst alt do? Pro con to bursting at diff altitude? I believe there is also a rpm setting on other jets that allow them to be dispersed in a wider or tighter area.

I have given up on a2a refuel so long ago. I just cant do it lol. I just make sure to bring lots of fuel with me lol

There is a ton of videos on YouTube showing effectiveness. The answer is... it depends. If you're going to run a sead, it might help by adding couple miles to your range. I wouldn't bother in bvr. I don't carry it. There is alot of unknown with ECM and dcs just does a best guess on how it works. Kind of like IFF. We have a dumbed down version which adds like a mile or two to range in some sam sites. Here are few vids

Now that's cool!

Not sure what I did wrong. can someone please tell me what I did wrong, so I can fix it? the CBU-97 didn't go off. There is a MRA setting I'm not too familiar with. Does it have something to do with that? f15 cbu nogo.trk

We might as well stop rotating the barrel then. And get rid of the brrrrt sound. Screw immersion lol -
ah ok. Thought you were also a mod here. lol. Yeah it's def not a feature request. I'm just curious if the process is automated, or if it is indeed a missing feature. SMEs would have to chime in I think.

How to assign default jet PTT buttons to SRS
razorseal replied to razorseal's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
ok, I see some of those options. but how do I assign PTT radio 1 and PTT radio 2? in F16, switch up is TX1, switch down TX2. with SRS, I have to assign those are switching between radios, then another button to PTT on that radio. is there a way to have PTT radio 1 and PTT radio 2 on SRS? -
So why did this get moved to the wishlist then? Got moved as if i was asking for a feature when in reality I'm curious if it's a missing feature or a10 and maverick does something differently. Your post indicates as if it's as designed.

As viper drivers you know you need to boresight (bsgt) the tgp with the mavs or you cant do handoff properly. With the a10, this isn't the case. I set spi on tgp, then soi to mav then slew to spi with China hat and I'm good to go. How come? I would ask if it isn't modeled but I doubt it as I think a10 has more functionality compared to the f16... Just curious what makes it different.
-
Ok so I just tried in the air, but it was a building. It worked once and I got a lock and bsgt popped up. I then slewed to something else and it still wasn't boresigthed well. I tried to bsgt again but this time it wouldn't lock and the crosshairs disappeared. I have been on dcs way too much lately and doing some family stuff now lol. Tonight I'll set up a mission with a cold start and try to bsgt in the air from a friendly target at the airbase and show the track. I have alot of fun with the f16, but use the mavs alot and it's the one thing I'm having a tough time with. Bummer. How come the a10 or harrier doesn't require boresighting? Nit sure on harrier as I don't fly it much anymore but wotu a10, you do designate from tgp as spi then mav just slews to it. I never boresight it.
-
So I followed youtube videos on how to boresight the mavericks. was an online map, so no track available. jet is hot on startup, but last time I didn't bsgt, I was WAY off and was unable to bsgt them up in the air. next start up, I pick a vehicle about a mile away. put the TGP on it, then slew mavericks to it (both stations) and all seems well. I go up and fly, about 10 miles from target and closing in fast. one of the stations was WAY off. I step over to the other rack and that one was ok and I was able to hand-off successfully. I tried to bsgt from the air hoping I can re-do it but everytime I tms up and switch over SOI to mavs, i would undesignate (the crosshairs disappear) whatever it attempted to lock on and lock on the same thing, but instead of getting the crosshairs as lock, the crosshairs disappear and BSGT button isn't there. so then I said forget it and went into VIS mode and try to do it myself manually, but I can't figure out how to ground stabilize the maverick, so it's going all over the place and just can't get a lock. I enjoy using the fire and forget mavericks, but with this jet I'm having a tough time. any ideas? I can make a mission with cold start, so I can get a track file possibly.

Hey gents, Can someone tell me how to assign/link in game assigned PTT buttons to SRS, because each jet's PTT button is different so it's messing up my HOTAS setups. I have the winwing F18 throttle, and on that I have a 4 way switch that I've assigned as the radio PTT (up ch1, down ch 2) on the ingame menu. but on the A10, it's a different switch for my radio as I use that 4 way for china hat. essentially, I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way for SRS to pickup what button i've assigned as the mic PTT button ingame so I don't have to keep changing the assignments on the SRS app?

On the second track, i had CDES off and designated maybe 100-200 feet in front of the target to lead. still didn't work. how much am I supposed to lead? half a mile? I don't know the target's speed, so don't know how far I should lead. I also think 4K AGL isn't "optimal" height, but still fairly high. again, how come the F16 does this without any issues? newer design jet with better computing abilities, or just bugs worked out? This is what I did on the 2nd track though. CDES was off (I was on PTRK, not ATRK) and lead the vehicle about 100 feet in front to designate just before drop. then I moved on the target and used PTRK (which did track the vehicle, hence should have put the laser on the target) I guess lucky for me in most MP servers I play, I have never ever seen a moving target. they're always stationary vehicles at airports. It was just me making a mission to practice stationary and moving objects. which all jets can do except the F15

Thanks! So F15E didn't see any CAS role in the OEF and OIF? Mostly precision strikes?
