Some people mention the "combat flaps" are you guys referring to the slats that deploy with the DLC buttons when gears/flaps are up? Don't those move automatically as well based on speed and aoa?

In GA, I was able to spot planes much easier than in the sim. Especially the fields with no atc. That being said, we always coordinated where everyone was. It's not that easy in real life either. No idea in a dogfight. Lol

So I've figured out good landings, good takeoffs, few of the systems to get around... I do the mission with the "Mig 28s" in nevada, and I keep getting my ass kicked. I'm never able to out turn the F5, so I always accelerate away using my power and climb and TRY to find him (usually never succeeding) and try again. I always get the missiles launched at me by them. I just figured out how to use the pilot radar locks (only works while in SW though, never with guns?) so that helps a little with vertical high. I'm a turner, and I thought this plane turned like nobody's business... am I wrong? also the visibility is very bad in this plane, and even with jester calling out where the planes are, I'm having a tough time seeing anything. I'm resisting turning labels on help me out. someone write an article on how to dogfight with this thing please! I'm trying very hard not to give up on this plane, but as of now, anyone can make their bitch if I get in a dogfight with them! lol

same here. I landed on the deck, and tried to take off again. full mil,salute (saw the salute) and no response from plane. I said screw it, and pressed u and I rolled off into the ocean lmao

in 10 years, I don't think anyone will know how to drive a car either LOL. Pretty by the time my kids start driving cars (12 to 14 years) unless you're buying an old used car, they will all be auto driving lol

I will try this again tomorrow. when I was doing it, all I saw was the leading edge slats moving. not the spoilers. this was in the gear up conf. with gear and flaps down, I didn't see anything move. I have it assigned on a rotary axis, and also buttons.

Hey guys, I searched the forum on use of DLC but no good guideline on how to use it. (what does it stand for? lol) I have it set to a slider (rotary knob accessible by my thumb on the stick) and also a 4 way switch (forward and aft). Trying to figure out which I prefer. That being said, I see the slats move when I use it in cruise, but during approach (I guess this is when you use it) the slats are fully extended and I don't see them moving. What am I doing wrong? I think it lets the plane drop back on glideslope quickly? What does it exactly do and how does it do it? I hope someone makes a video of this thing. I hear alot about it, but I can't figure out how to use it. lol Thanks!

I'm going to bind it to my x55 throttle's thumb rotary... but can you explain how you use it? isn't there also some DLC 4 way switch? I feel like I mapped one to my stick

I agree. I always wondered how they designed this for the real planes (f18, F14 etc) I have to tilt my head and yank the plane left to look from the right. it's the stupidest thing. again, not heatblur, but actual plane design. hide stick will be very helpful lol

I'm having different issues making this plane so damn hard to fly. it's the forward visibility and ACM stuff. I bleed too much speed in turns etc and have a VERY tough time pointing the nose where I want it. and just when I get where I want to, I lose the plane by the time it's on my hud, which seems smaller or something. I can fly fine in cruise, land, take off... it's just the dogfighting that's getting me. I never had so much problem DFing with a plane. you're right that it's like a cessna. you do the wrong thing, and wing dips and you need to counter. rudder use is very important, and I'm also getting used to that. I don't see myself having a chance against a mig 29 with this thing. I can barely kill that mig 21 lol

Agreed... I think overtime jester will also get smarter though.

I tried this, but it seems that when I jump in the RIO seat and change it, Jester changes it back to what he thinks is necessary, which seems to be TWS Auto. I don't see anything in the jester menu to tell him to stick with Pulse modes

The HUD is as intended from the real F14B. it's something between the F5 and the F18 I guess... the F14Ds I think had an upgraded HUD, but not this one... lower right panel there are mult modes you can change the HUD (T/O, Cruise, A/A, LAND, A/G or somethign like that). with A/A, you'll have the diamond if jester can keep a lock more than 18 seconds.

I listen for the clicking noise. Viggen is great because you have the lights, but the sounds will do for this one. Better than what we have in the F18
