  1. For me this happened everytime I tried to assign an axis to the zoom. I skipped it on the next start, and I was able to map everything normally.
  2. I just went with what I would think would work for me.... Sometimes with the early access stuff, this happens I did gears, flaps, tailhook, all stick and throttle maps, and the trim. Also added jester button and wing sweep along with zoom.
  3. Same. Only module that I felt the slightest of the frame rate drop.
  4. Yeah, really need to work that rudder, which I use race pedals for lol... I barely had time to play last night. I was trying to just get the PLM working which wasn't working that well on the AA guns mission. it says 5 miles... but it was more like 1 mile for me on that giant IL-76 or whatever. with not having full control of radar for ACM and no advanced ACM modes and no advanced HUD, i might have to resort to lables which I really hate using. Hopefully I can get some flying next week to see how she sustains in a dogfight. I def know I can't just yank on the stick to get behind the enemy now. I have to learn to understand the plane shaking... Like I said, this is going to be a hard plane to figure out for me. It will be rewarding in the end, but I think I'll have better luck with the F18 in dogfights, or even bombing. Time will tell
  5. Very interesting... What about all the other stuff? I'll go search for it.
  6. Oh just tell us... I'm pretty bummed about that. Why? and It's a X55 rhino
  7. By far the hardest for me to fly. the crazy capability of the plane gets me in trouble.... I'm doing what I usually do and just yank on the stick to get on a plane's 6 thinking, i'll either stall and slide in, or have my g limiter stop me from over-g. nope... instant blackout with missing wings. DAMN ITTTTTT This one is going to take patience and lots of learning. The radar and jester confuse me too... he loses lock pretty often, and I have no idea when he reacquired. then in visual range he kept telling me where the plane was and I couldn't see it :megalol: I'm going to have a tough one with this one. BUTTTTTT what a beauty! She's going to keep me busy for hours... we need chuck's guide! ps. can we toggle the control stick? I can't see the display there!
  8. same here. Never had this issue until today
  9. How about just TWS? not LTWS... Where we at with that? would be great combo for D/L, SA
  10. Just remember what they cost before you pull that trigger. Lmao Found this on an article about the f15 that had to jettison load into the ocean (actually it fired them for some reason) Each time you miss, it's costing you nearly a million! Lol Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  11. I think it's possible. before break through.... you're up high at 25-35k, and a mig 21 flying at 1K with it's old jammer...
  12. yup. that
  13. Just posted there asking, but it appears something you attach to a mission you create yourself? not like a fulltime addon where it makes any carrier LSO capable? so like a mp mission you are in on a busy server must have it installed etc?
  14. Hey there, I was recommended this for LSO work. I'm a little confused though. This is an addon you put on missions that you create correct? It's not a module that makes any mission I land on a carrier with F18 LSO capable? and is client stuff required for MP stuff? I fly on some busy servers often, so I'm curious if I need anything (like sound files) installed on my computer to be able to use it if their MP map has this addon? I'm pretty much trying to make it so that I get little assistance from LSO when I land on carriers.
  15. I didn't know F18 had that already. I thought only the F15 did as far as HOJ, you need to figure out distance. Maybe use AWACS for it, but since there is no range data, you won't know if your missile will reach the target, or which way it's going (cold/hot/flank etc) which also determines distance.
  16. Awesome, thanks guys. I'll get to work on researching it. I hope DCS adds this as a standard feature soon.
  17. What is the difference? I just googled it and sounds like the same thing. lol as far as complete.... phew... so many things. They've been working hard on them though. Fingers crossed for TWS and D/L SA next week. It will greatly improve AA capability. Jammer will help too, but that's not even on the list afaik
  18. Hey guys, I've been trying to better my carrier landings and been watching videos and some practice runs. I could really use some LSO help... I think it would really help. Is there an add-on or something like that I can install? I saw a mission (I think it was on this sub forum) that lets you do practice carrier landings, I'm going to check it out now... Anyways, looking for some help on this matter. AAR and Carrier ops are my weak points right now. Trying to better myself with this plane! Thanks!
  19. I had just posted about this not knowing this was already asked... I'd like to try this and see what happens. setup 1 awacs with 3 escorts. shoot an aim120 and set it to large. see if it goes after the awacs plane.
  20. I'm glad F-14 will simulate this. Overstress the plane, and shit starts to break. lol Granted with the F18 you probably won't break anything the first time, but if the airframes could maintain their reliability, after 2-3 sorties, a wing is sure to come off. lmao
  21. AAR is still my weakest point in DCS. Pretty close to proper carrier procedures. UGHHHH lmao
  22. Right, I was mentioned earlier that winds change based on altitude in real life (sometimes significant) It's very easy to get wind info of current altitude of jet, but it won't know what's going on at 3K feet vs it's current 15,000. I don't think that's modeled in DCS anyways though.
  23. Same... D/L will be huge help for a2a on MP. once we have the tpod, a2g will be awesome. and that's another question I have. the BIT page is full of degrade and nogo. is this by design? I'm afraid to fly the plane with all those NOGOs lmao
  24. Same. Only time I've done it (jettison everything) was when I got shot down and was gliding. I glided close as I could to friendly area. Plane was going to crash, so I jetted everything to further glide range. I would assume if you got jumped by a pair of capable enemy planes, you're going to drop them if it's not too late There are other things, like the G limit override paddle on the joystick. You do this in real life, you're going to have to explain yourself as now that plane needs to be checked. in DCS, it's not a big deal. Nothing breaks, nothing nobody yells at you, and you cain free Gs. lol
  25. I don't remember either. I watch the updates like a hawk looking for new cool features. lol
