I remember reading in the manual there is a version without the aux internal tank where you can have 1200 rounds instead of 300. I can see it making sense for real life where there are extended loiter times and all, but in the sim I'd prefer 1200 rounds and less fuel just because I'm training and want more ammo, or I'm in MP and my ass gets shot down too quick anyways to burn through my fuel. I searched the topic but didn't find anything. So I was curious if this will be an option for us?

What I'm trying to say is it's already calibrated in the game. I have flown vast lands and haven't seen this happen in the game. Flying King airs and other planes it was pretty normal for us to be within just 75 feet or so of barometric altitude. From one airport to the next pressure would be diff. I'm not sure if dcs simulates dynamic weather with changing barometric altitude? I don't even know how to check a metar in dcs. When I get in the game it's set. Possibly because it's always 29.92 in the game lol

It can be disabled i think. It's in the manual. I just read it yesterday lol

It says Adana Hehir Şastanesi when it should be Adana Şehir Hastanesi 37 01'43"N 35 20'49"E In the city of Adana

After trying to figure if my computer was acting up, or the video was messed up, i got to the FCR page and now have a good idea of what's going on. Thanks!

Can someone tell me how the FCR will work? Will I have like a 360 radar GMT map that looks similar to the F18's? select targets and send off a radar guided hellfire to it like I would shoot a AIM120 or something? I know it's in the works and won't be anytime soon, but I'm just curious on how it'll look, and how we'll work missiles to target with it. I assume it'd be less work than laser ranging, finding targets, tracking etc. I'm not sure... and can it be used for other things besides like a GMT and shooting stuff down? does it have an air mode or anything? Curiosity killed the cat.

I did notice most of my "engagement" distance is around 1000-1500 anyways so I guess leaving it at 1500 and compensating will do the trick.

ALT hold with 0 speed hold you mean? lol

I'm getting the hang of this... kinda How many WPs can you have in one "channel" (I forget what it was called, alpha, bravo etc) and what is the point of having multiple wp channels? (alpha, bravo, charlie etc)

Apache AH-64D Flight Characteristics / FM - what could I expect?
razorseal replied to Dangerzone's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Same here... I gotta open up the controls view and center it myself. Wish there was a cheat button to reset it since our joysticks don't stay in the position like a FFB or the real thing would. -
so if the auto ranging is using radar elevation and lookdown value.... correct, it won't give correct range if target is on a hillside or something... So why doesn't it lase the target to get an accurate range? that would give the correct distance. the apache is capable of lasing targets for distance, correct?

Why not just hit 1 and 2 real quick and switch seats? unless you got 4 hands and 2 brains, how are you going to process flying and shooting out of 2 monitors?

Watching this helped me understand the dynamics of what is going on... Even though he made it before the apache module, he uses the percentages which helped some. I got to land somewhat alright and kinda where I want to be although, I'm still horrible at it and I think mostly it was luck lol. I'm getting little better at arresting the descent rate at least. That being said, it reminds me I haven't even gotten to shooting missiles or the CPG position yet... Just trying to learn to fly still lol.

Forget landing on a spot I want to land at... I can barely land period. I bring myself (eventually) to a hover. then when I start to lower myself by lowering collective, I'm either sinking too fast out of control or barely going down. Not sure if I'm chasing the descent needle... while I'm trying to do this, i'm either starting to move forward or go back out of hover. I did the taxi/hover/flight training and it helped alot hone things down. watched the video Matt released about this issue I'm having but didn't seem to help me out. soooo, please any advice? I can't even figure out how to get to my landing spot and stop right on top of it. If I do any big collective movement, I do down out of control.

I seem to fly the KA50 better. Is it because of it's assisted flight? I got half decent (10% of a good pilot?) at hover and cruise flight, but can't descent and land the damn thing without crashing. I didn't have this issue with the KA50, especially in hover mode lol. Maybe I do need to check the mi8 out.

Indeed... and in a game where most of the time it's just you (single player or MP environment) single seaters just make sense. Not the biggest fan of AI copilot since it takes out the human error of that second idiot flying the aircraft with you LOL
-
I don't fly helos often. I have huey ka50 and apache. I didn't get hind because it just doesn't interest me much. plus I don't really like the 2 man team with AI being my assistant that takes their human error out. That's why I enjoy the KA-50... it's just you and the plane. I'm also little better flying that helicopter including the auto hover help and better torque control since it's non tail rotor. I just don't really enjoy russian made vehicles much (the screen thing in russian confuses me, the talking and all). so there really isn't a helicopter out there for me. I don't see the point of huey and mi-8 in a shooting sim. sooo long story short, i got the apache, messing around with it, but I'm more concentrated on the F16 now as it's really starting to mature and be one of the best modern planes we have (more modern than our now retired F18C)

you can set it to ground stow mode I think it's called so it's in a "fixed" position for the ground crew to refill ammo. it sets it at a certain angle and locks it in place. kinda hard to shoot that way too but it makes them 'fixed' apparently this was fixed in the later versions of the the apache. yeah, i do wish there was a CCIP style cue where i can fly over the targer and just fire it instead of trying to line everything up.

I wondered same thing. I noticed something like this is ASKING for you get shot at by every AK, RPG, MANPAD anything on the field. It also made me think of the devastation.... When I was infantry, I never really worried about air threats in middle east because well... They didn't have any... Firing at this thing will give away you position, only to get chopped down by it's cannon or rockets... scary scary. I also noticed how the altimeter on HUD is showing negative. we don't see this in DCS because everything is perfectly calibrated in a sense. lastly, why no KA-50s?
-
ALl that for me to select WP3? oh my godddd. I feel bad for our army pilots already. lol
-
Can ya show a video or link on how to do this? I'm not 50, but I sure can benefit from it lol
-
Right? I spent the money on the module for their hard work, but I can tell I'm def going to be flying in the F16 way more than anything else...
-
But this F16 is insane. I feel like I'm cheating when I'm playing any AI right now. Is this what the real thing is like? I can point the nose to anything I desire anytime I want. If this is what the real F16 flies like, you guys did an awesome job. now on the other hand... the apache is driving me crazy and is going to take me some serious time to master. LOL maybe I'll just stick with learning the F16's A2G capabilities some more. a true multi role fighter. lol ps - is the Cat 1/3 switch actually working as intended?
