  1. Hi Ron. I'm just waiting for the Western release of BS. In the meantime I'm glad to see someone (you) making missions. Is there somewhere that BS missions can be uploaded? Flyby out ps: well, I'm waiting on a new $y$tem too. The wife won't let me load sims up on her pc. ;)
  2. I'm thinking Kinko's.;) BUT!!! that's still good information to know.
  3. hitman, I wish I could answer your question definitively, but I can't. I can only assume that since the i7 socket is slightly larger than the 775 socket that a water cooling unit from one won't fit the other. I have read that one must buy an adapter to fit a cpu fan from a 775 processor to an i7 processor, so I just assumed...:music_whistling: Flyby out
  4. gotta love that Igor! :megalol::megalol: thanks Thor!
  5. Nice shots AW and Namenlos!
  6. now THAT's hardcore!!
  7. just the eternal "bottleneck" hot potato between the gpu and the cpu. The idea of a GTX 280 being "too slow" is just symptomatic of that ageless struggle.;) Of course a 4870X2 might have the legs to keep up.:music_whistling:
  8. this article might be somewhat useful over at SimHq, but I think they're slipping a bit http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_111a.html let me know what you guys think. I'm torn between trying to squeeze out the bucks for an i7 system or going with a Penryn. I'm actually hoping for something that will run Oleg's Sow_Bob smoothly, but who knows what that will take (a Cray?). Also Rise of Flight seems to require at least a dual core processor: http://www.riseofflight.com/en/Gameinfo.html Flyby out

I just added you guys to my TS. Though I can't play the sim yet, I'd like to listen in sometimes when it's open to the public. I promise to be quiet, but i might say hello ;)
  12. I was confused for a moment (but just for a moment!) I thought my browser was acting up!
  13. you guys are posting some very nice screenies! :D The ones with the nvg show the sim in a new "light" ;)
  14. Plot twists? I hope it's a desperate situation. I love a desperate situation (do-or-die stuff).:book:
  15. wha' choo mean "some time to finish up"? yewain't goin no place! Farz I'm concerned this is just the first installment of the first seezun. Na gitback ta makin' dem movies!:D (obviously I'm a fan of your work too ;)) Flyby out
  16. I'd have deleted this post, but there is no delete feature that I saw. Flyby out
  17. I don't make videos, but i know what I like. I enjoyed this one very much. I thought it had "atmosphere". Flyby out
  18. Tek, very cool screens from your friend. Many thanks to him! such an impressive spirit of sharing with us have-nots.;) flyby out
  19. about the trees, I seem to recall that radar detection won't be inhibited by them (is it like that in rl?), but in the sim will manpads or other defense systems be confounded when the BS hides among trees? Flyby out
  20. too late the monster is loose among us, wrecking Sharks as he goes. good thing I have a personal talisman to keep me safe! Mercy for the Kamov techs!
  21. Zorrin!!!! thanks for posting the screens. much appreciated. Flyby out
  22. thanks everybody!! thanks guys for the insights. I'm really looking forward to owning Black Shark:thumbup: I know it's a pie-in-the-sky thing (GGT) but thanks to the night time screens posted by Viper, I'm really looking forward to a ngith-combat capable gunship. I know DCS's version of the Black Shark has limited night combat abilities so that will have to old me for a while. One thing that Viper's night screen shot showed was exactly how dark night is in BS. It looks almost pitch black! I haven't seen night that dark since I tried to land a Hornet on a carrier in Jane's F\A-18. Breat job, DCS.:) Flyby out
  23. Alex, interesting report there. The penetrating power of the Vihkr seems awesome, and at good range too. Now that makes for some nice mission concepts, and online coops. Hey Viper (or anyone) how about some night-fire screen shots of the 'Shark letting loose some rockets, or maybe that 30mm cannon? Yeah I know. I'm getting greedy!:D Hey GGT, is the Apache going to be released after the A-10? I think night-fighting in a gunship has a certain mystique to it. Flyby out
  24. I agree 100%. Maybe your squadies can come up with some interesting Black Shark mission scenarios, given their experience. I don't know that the Ka50 would be considered a front line gunship, at least I don't think so, given the limitations of the version in the sim. I guess I need to read a bit more on the subject. Flyby out
  25. thanks Viper! more great shots there. I especially like the low-flying over the water, in the valley shot. It's mouth-watering. Hey man, what kind of missions do you think you'll be favoring if you build them. Also, so you plan to fly online? I hope someone get's Hyperlobby to set up Black Shark. Flyby out
