Try grouping your 3 ATC voices into folders named 1, 2, and 3 under ATC. I’m betting the behavior would be as each ATC is contacted from base to base, the voices will automatically cycle based on the order they are set up in the ME. A simple test mission can check this “theory”. I agree on culling the callsign list. I slapped those 90 together to stick something on the wall and to find out how the ME would behave with such a large number. I think 3-5 new voices for ATC, JTAC, AWACS and Tankers is sufficienct for beta 1.0. I’d also like to limit the callsigns to 1-2 per aircraft type for BLUE forces initially. I believe that many DCS users, whether SP or MP, will desire their own custom callsign lists. That is beyond the scope of what we need at this time. However, we will provide them with a good foundation to pursue further development either jointly or for their own personal requirements.

Sort of correct ... the SPINS from the ATO details call signs. I won’t delve further into that arena. The Comm Card can be built with any call sign we want for training flights. The Mission Planner usually creates those via the Comm Card. In DCS, the Mission Builder via the Mission Editor picks the call signs for the Mission/Campaign.

FYI, I put the default Tanker voice in folder 1 and your better half's voice in folder 2. Put two tankers in the air and checked in with each. First tanker created used voice 1 and second tanker used voice 2. I'm guessing a third tanker could use a third voice if created. Cheers,

Installers are nice, but some power users may not want to clutter up their Windows Apps & Features list. I believe we can offer both methods and let the user decide which method is best for their personal situation.

@GRIMES, So mimic the structure like the ...\\Common\Allied Flight\USA\(subfolders 1,2 & 3). I'm guessing subfolders 1,2, & 3 each represent a separate "voice" for the Allied Flight radio sounds? For example, if we want multiple JTAC "voices" we could create: … \\Common\JTAC\1 for the default, 2 for first "new voice", 3 for second "new voice", etc. How exactly are the new JTAC voices in the example above used in game? Is it a random selection by a specific game lua code? I'm thinking that right now in an unmodified state, when I select any JTAC C/S in the ME; they all use the same voice, correct?

Let me know if you are OBE by the little woman … I set up a Discord site 5 minutes ago.;) P.M. me everybody and I'll send you the server name.

I hope to join you 31 October … ;)

That’s the spirit! Now port DCS to Linux so we can get away from M$FT! :D

Bone, I realize that. You eat an elephant one bite at a time. Recording voice actors is not the biggest problem as I see it. To go forward, I think we have to take this offline and collaborate as a group as Taylor said. I'm willing to give it a shot, but first we need to map this problem out. Cheers,

Tactical Call Sign Mod Version 1.0 and Guide Awaiting completion of upload … coming today!
-
Will include with V1.1 … Will play with radio effect, thanks for link!
-
Already included for my friend Raven68 … :)
-
Taylor, I've got you covered with Badger, which was also the 95th AS C-130 callsign.

Great start Airogue! I'm in! 90 callsigns inbound! WAV files generation one are done. Inputs to lua file underway … As for extra callsign requests … post 'em. However, I see I already had many of them already. There is one major problem with this as I see it. The Mission Editor pull-down menu for callsigns is massive as a result of this "mod". It will not pass integrity check and online play could be affected as well. More testing this weekend ...

That's great! Everyone with a pilot rating/license knows wind is reported in knots ...
-
No worries … great mod!
-
Love it! Well done beppe_goodoldrebel! My only "squawk" is could you change the ATC response to not say "meters per second" after giving the wind info. Instead, just have them call out wind direction and wind speed like IRL as follows: "Winds two seven zero at ten." This is a wind direction/velocity call for 270/10 knots. Knots is understood by the controller and pilot and is not normally said IRL. It's all about brevity … and not cluttering up the radios like the Navy does.:music_whistling:

OP, Make sure your IP to TGT distance is long enough, I use at least 20NM, to avoid the dreaded overfly the target and re-attack unintended orbit of the BUFF. Cheers,

Thoughts on 1070 FE to 1080 TI?

VR only? Or can it push a 55" 4K also? -
Thoughts on 1070 FE to 1080 TI?

Thanks for the info! Perhaps an 11GB GPU is not that significant at the moment. -
Well, you did ask where they lived in the directory structure … but, placing them in Saved Games is probably the best solution as updates can't swack them there. ;)

Thoughts on 1070 FE to 1080 TI?
Backy 51 replied to Backy 51's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That is correct. I wonder if the extra 3GB of VRAM will matter as FPS differences between my current 1070 vs the 1080 ti are probably not that great. Pilotasso, how do you like your 1080 ti performance running in the NTTR and PG maps? The 2080 ti just seems awful steep for the bang for the buck ratio IMHO. Unless somebody can show me blazing fast DCSW performance numbers and no stutter, the 2080 ti does not seem like a good value at this time for flight sims. -
Taylor, I think they go here: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\MissionEditor\themes\main\images Cheers!
