I was in Multiplayer last night, in Panzertard's server. It was setup for dogfighting, under the wings, stripped clean, no bombs, no rockets. Early this morning two different guys had their own skins and were using bombs and rockets and going after targets. =========================== Can I fly my own 3rd party skin? How do I do this in either Single Player or Multiplayer? How do I include bomb and rockets to a Mutiplayer game that is not set up for it. I did ask the guy using the text chat box, but I got no reply. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MARIE : http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/181017/ I added this to the "Bazar/Liveries/P-51D" folder to the "P-51D" of the path. Can I designate just this plane OR any others in the inventory in SP or MP and how is this accomplished? Thanks for any help.

Tips for CH Products HOTAS/MFD
ErichVon replied to Nereid's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Somebody to CH Hangar, for DCS or FC2, I think, made a profile using all 3 modes using scripts. It has 3 separate colors of identifying text. Pretty awesome. See below, the last link. Here is a great utility for printing out the controllers and what each button does: http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/showthread.php?6962-CM-Print-v4.50-Beta-1 and some older ways of doing it: http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll239/ViperDriver/AcesHighII/Blank_Fighterstick.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll239/ViperDriver/AcesHighII/Blank_Throttle.jpg Some scripts for the other sim I play: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,290623.0.html And a profile for Flaming Cliffs 2.0 by Ruggbutt: http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/showthread.php?7156-Flaming-Cliffs-2.0 He uses all 3 modes for the CH gear. Home for CH Hangar: http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/content.php Another link that may or not be useful from my collection: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33591 Yes, I just need to focus and take the time to learn it. It has to be easier than learning the Ka-50 Black Shark. I know a little BASIC and about the same of the HTML languages. I have built web pages in the past. I created a (.map) profile without (.cms) scripts for the DCS:P-51D based on my Aces High profile for use with the CH Control Manager. I used every button in one mode. My 1st (.map) profile I made out of necessity for Aces High using the CH Control Manager. I borrowed 2 different scripts from the links above and incorporated them, but I did not write the scripts. I think I will make a profile for the jet in DCS World and hopefully it will also work in FC2. If not, I will make two. Then some day I will learn scripting and mod them. With a little luck maybe I will live another 20 years and see age 80. I think I have enough activities to keep my mind active right here to DCS. -
That seat does not look comfortable. I guess the pilots did sit on their chutes. Imagine sitting in that seat for 12 or more hour sorties.

That is how I feel about museum relics concerning metal machine shop. In 1980 to the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C , a 1920 era engine lathe on display was the same model I was using at work on-th-job still doing precision work with it. I'd get more of a kick seeing the shop where they rebuild these aircraft.

Tutorial For Combat: Bombs/Rockets Does Not Complete

Thanks for the advice. Concerning my thread topic, it was me, I had the bomb arming switches not in the correct position. Once that was achieved I proceeded through the tutorial to completion. Sorry to pester you with this. -
Su-25T: Making a CH Profile
ErichVon replied to ErichVon's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
If I make a CH (.map) profile for the Su-25T in DCS World will it also work in FC2? or If I make a CH (.map) profile for the Su-25T in FC2 will it also work in DCS World? Thanks for replying. -
Need volunteers for wingspan testing
ErichVon replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
My single campaign title within Single Mission, Campaign is inactive as is the one for the jet. I cannot get into them in Beta #2. Or are you referring to something else? -
I have never used FC2 much, almost zero and never LockON. But the Platinum 2 DVD disk set is how I got started January 2011 and the DCS:A-10C, the 1st paid version, not Beta, came out about 2 weeks later after I got around to installing and activating it. So I went with the Warthog with "Konkussion"'s recommendation. So my CH profiles are now 3 separate (.maps) I use within the CH Control Manager for DCS. If I make another profile for the DCS World SU-25T can I use this in FC2? Or when FC3 comes out it will mate to both DCS World and FC3? My BS2 update works in DCS and my BS1 I saved the shortcut and my same profile from "Crunch" works nicely to both DCS and FC2. I take it, the Su-25T is not compatible with FC2? I have the latest updates for FC2, BS2 and the A-10C and now DCS World. Thanks for any insights.

Need volunteers for wingspan testing
ErichVon replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Yes, I realize the info is Aces High specific. Yet, their forums have history and engineer buffs probably just as informed as some of the experts here and ditto their, some guys, prima dona, know-it-all, I'm never wrong, attitude. I notice this attitude in various aspects of living life as to putting up with the similar attitude the toolmakers I learned from and worked with. My experience, most guys I worked with had this attitude. I think it just comes with the accuracy of doing the job and the mindset of screwing up is not an option. It is probably why I don't gel with many people. You seem cool, as most do to the DCS forums. Engineers have their own way at looking and testing a job almost to the point of tunnel vision and I understand the process and the need to totally exhaust the problem to eventual solution. -
I use that control stick, brake, throttle monitor all the time. Actually my CH Control Manager outputs raw data as numerical values. I tried a deadzone of 10 within Options/Controls but it made no difference so I reset it back to zero. It functions good enough for me. What do you use, an alcohol based cleaner like to Radio Shack? I better call CH Products and see what to do, if it is necessary. My Pro Throttle is 2 years old. Yes, I have seen this visual jitter before, long time ago, but I don't remember what it was to. Edited later: It jitters just a bit one to two number range, like 123 to 124, to my CH Control Monitor raw data. It occurs on both ends of the slider. Its no biggy to me. I just thought it might be a bug or something. In mid range in the cockpit it stays steady. Thanks

What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?
ErichVon replied to csper's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
I bet they are already working on a plane to compete with the P-51D. The Bf-109 later version would be a good choice. And the B-17 with all guns manned by players. Now that would be cool! I think ED will be needing more employees. You guys gonna' be as big as Disney? -
OK. I will stop replying this thread.

I think the sim, in the Controls mapping allows for Night Vision Googles. I do not think they had that technology in WWII. Did they? Ditto the kneeboard moving triangle cheat, which I love and use a lot is not real to a true WWII era aircraft. ED should give us a sextant  At night, use the stars, if the star constellations are accurate enough to rely on if compass failure. Do the compasses allow for magnetic declination? So, being a real sim is relative. I suppose the work involved and the size of the program limits every switch and radio to be used. But maybe in DCS World a full reality sim is not the purpose. I'll play it whatever ED/DCS or the server moderator wants to do.

Want to have some fun, if you can, set it so you can only go full throttle WEP for the 5 minutes the flight manual says it is good for or suffer engine damage. That will curtail the hotshots flying with full power on for 15 minutes or more.

Hi Air Wolf, It is your world, your server, do what you want. I am fairly easy going, I will adapt. How's that go? Adapt, Improvise, Overcome. Guys complain about MREs. My era was C-rats. When you get hungry a person will eat anything, a la survivor school. :) Our motto was, "Can Do!" "The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer." I loved the Bees. Give it some time and poll the guys what they want. My DSL's slow speed may put me out of doing any aerobatic formation flying until I get cable Internet in August. I doubt I will be able to keep up, but worth a try. Last night, after everybody went to bed on your server, I had a ball, on I think it was the Equadorian server. When all else fails I go for the deck. The guy was 200 yards back so I chopped throttle, to overich, and while he was trying not to overshoot me at tree level, he stalled. I almost stalled. We were in the foothills. One notch of flaps and a crab will work, too. LOL! He had his server set to also fly the jet in DCS World. We started in the air. F10 was up. Cheers.

P-51D, VTA server: The F10 key cheat, if it is up, or maybe the F4 key, will find the enemy, if you can recognize the terrain via outside view. (What is really tough is like how the 104th runs their server without any, "cheats".) Switching sides will find the takeoff bases. Heck of a drive to get to the opposite side's territory. Best to meet in the middle.
-
I love the sim, online or offline and I have no problem who joins the squads. I don't complain. I just notice verbal inconsistencies. How could you know who joins a squad or their ethnicity? Well, it is possible... I think I will just read the forums. Cheers.

Mustang First Take-Off and Landing: Post your Tracks/Vids
ErichVon replied to 159th_Viper's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
I added 5 degrees right aileron trim, and 1 to 5 degrees up elevator trim, in addition to the suggested 5 or 6 degrees right rudder trim at takeoff to prevent the, left turn, upwards corkscrew into the ground. Works for me, your mileage may vary. I eventually rev up to full throttle at 100 mph, but all 3 wheels are on the ground. Once in the air, gear up, I either recenter the trim with a mapped button, or quickly re-trim in flight. Getting up on just two wheels is a work-in-progress. I fly full sim using no cheats or assists. -

How do I make a video representation of a sortie, suitable for YouTube or here? -
So, if a precision, aerobatic virtual team wants to recreate a real life one, in virtual space, they all have to be real, qualified, former aerobatic team members like the "Blue Angels" or the other military branches and the other countries' military, like Canada has, or the civilian teams? Or if mimicking a former real life squad, the members must meet the real squads pre-qualifications, or be former real life military pilots, to join it? Actually I have seen squads that were only former military pilots, speaking the professional military lingo/jargon in the other sim I fly. With this logic, rename the squad or ban the creation of it. I had a good time on Air Wolf's server last night. Thanks for putting it up.

Tutorial For Combat: Bombs/Rockets Does Not Complete

Tutorial For Combat: Bombs/Rockets Does Not Complete
ErichVon replied to ErichVon's topic in Bugs and Problems
It just stops. If I push on the space bar it does not advance. The screen page acts as if it is waiting for me to do something. -
This happens as to the subject Title. I have tried a few things that would normally stop this, but nothing does. It is always there. It happens at the off position and also at the one inch pre-set before starting the engine. But this visual movement does not seem to be a problem effecting the sim or the throttle's function. I do start-up according to what Wags posted for Beta 1: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87898 Message #5

It works for me, too. I have it mapped to the 4-way hat that looks like the top of a chess rook piece. I have a CH Pro Throttle. I map top and bottom for range in and out; and left/right for setting wingspan bigger/smaller. I use the CH Control Manager, but map it within Options/Controls.
