Aimmaverick, one big reason you dont see any GBU's is because there is no modeling for FLIR or any subsequent precision guided weapons platform in LocK On. They would have to model this before they could make LGB's work. BTW, the A-10A doesnt carry LGB's. Nor does the F-16A. Later models were fitted with pods to direct PGM's, like the F-16C. Im with you, I wish they would make PGM's a reality, but they are buisy building Ka-50's, so forget it.:icon_roll

Aimmaverick, for what its worth, I agree with you. I think an F/A-18A or even an F-16A would beat the living crap out of a Ka-50. I personally dont think the ground textures support helos in this game. While they look excellent for a fixed wing sim, they dont cut it when you bring in helo's IMHO. The US needs a decent multi-role platform, which I think it is robbed of currently. Adding ANOTHER RUSSIAN aircraft doesnt stur up much excitement in me, and probably some others. On the contrary, I would rather have a well modeled helo, than a poorly modeled F16 or '18. So it would really depend on how badly ED wanted to make it, which probably isnt very badly (being a Russian company and all ;) ). My best advice is wait for Fighter Ops or the Lock On sucessor if you want western, because the boys at ED arnt gonna budge with the Russian birds.

Well, technically the vids arnt "lost" at the moment. Im sure between the those of us who frequent his site, we have most of the vids. Also, like wolf said, he probably has most of them on his rig. Unfortunately, he cant host them at the moment. If he decides not to re-host his site, then your space may help, but im not too sure how well 56k will proform. Hopefully he will get some money togeather and restart his site. -helk

I love the 70's/80's because those years contain my favorite aircraft. But as far as the era of flight I respect most, it has to go to the Korean War 50's. Those guys had to be the best. Flying jets but using WWII style weaopns. I think no pilots are better than those who fought in that era.

Wrong! You must have the origional copy with whichever copy you purchase. I have 1.1 on DVD and I had to have the origional to play. Its a UPDATE, not a full or stand alone game.

Actually not. The A-4 was able to adapt quite well throughout the years. In its early days It was intended to "toss bomb" strategic nuclear weapons. In Vietnam it dropped the vast majority of bombs for the US Navy (far more than the F-4 and A-6). It also began its precision bombing career in Vietnam when it made use of the Walleye TV guided bomb to destroy powerplants and bridges. While it isnt truly supersonic, its monuverability was unparalleled until recently. Being used for Top Gun and Red Flag exercises proves this. I think it is safe to say that the A-4 goes down in history as one of if not the best attack aircraft. The airframe was its biggest limit. Too many hours and the wings start coming off. Nukes, air to air weapons, dumb bombs, TV guided bombs, and perhaps even LGB's (not sure on that). I'd say quite the contrary, not limited at all. -Helk

Will the 5.6 get my frames highter in Lomac? I would really like to try the ATI, but if there is no advantage in it, I may just go with the GT. Are there any real advantages in going with ATI by means of proformance? If they can squeeze out a few more FPS than an Nvidia, than I would definately go with them. They dont have the pixelshader 3.0 option, so I dont know if its worth the buy. -Hellcat

In hindsight, I wouldnt be upgrading. Unfortunately, I kinda promised my old card away to someone, and dont have the heart to recall it. One thing I do notice is the fact that the ATI's dont use Pixelshader 3.0. Not many games use it, Lock On is no exception, but its still somthing to think about. -Hellcat

Im am about to upgrade my video card from a GF6800 128mb. I was looking at the GF6800GT and the ATI X800XL. I cant go above $320 so the Ultra and Pro cards are out. My question is, which card is better suited to play FC? The 6800 has more pipelines than the X800. The ATI has a higher core clock than the GF, but lower memory clock. Overall, it seems that the GF wins out the ATI, but there are a lot of happy ATI customers playing FC. Basicly, I need a no BS assesment of which card is better. I had my draw distance turned down to low, so I didnt really get a good look at the ground, I kinda figured they would stand out a bit more. I set it to medium and now I can find them. Thanks, -Hellcat

Are there any destructable bridges in this game? Ive been playing a lot and havnt noticed any. If I am wrong and there are bridges, some cooridinates would be great. -Hellcat

Mine is hit and miss. Ive shot down several Cobra's that came apart into a billion pices, but then Ive shot at some Apache's that just fall out of the sky with no damage. Strange. Not to get OT, but does anyone else have missing pitot tubes on the Su-39 when in the cockpit? Mine are only halfway visable while inside the aircraft. Just wondering... -Hellcat

What is the best method of installing Lock On Flamnig Cliffs? Should you reinstall LOMAC and then apply FC? Should you Install 1.02 before installing 1.1? Or should you just install 1.1 over your current 1.02 and not worry about re-installing LOMAC? Forgive me if this question has been asked before. Thanks, -Hellcat

I notice air to ground ordinance hanging on that F-15. Is that a part of the 1.1 package or an addon? Is it player usable either way? (My 1.1 is in the mail, thats why I ask). -Hellcat
