  1. @HempsteadHAs I live in Poland, add some 50% to that price. Subtract 90% to availability. Stuff that is commonly available , from Canada to Sri Lanka, is oftentimes hard to obtain in Poland. Also I've got an entire box of unfit switches. Mostly too light or a combination of too light and uneven operation. For some I failed to check specs, for some they were sold... without a stated model. As for the one you linked, the retailers don't even bother to put a photo The linked spec sheet doesn't seem to mention 4-way anywhere. https://eu.mouser.com/datasheet/2/295/MN_ToggleSections_DP-3389170.pdf I don't crave the journey, I'm just aware there are multiple non-standard switches in F-5E.
  2. Doesn't it have at least a weight bob like the F-5E?
  3. A legitimate option but I can't spend the time on it on the first iteration of the pit.
  4. I'm focusing on staying DCS-clean for now, to jumpstart some simpit work. It sure came in handy June-September
  5. Got most of them saved as well but I didn't recognise them at first
  6. May I ask for high quality versions of the newsletter screenshots?
  7. Some of the recent Afghan shots clearly show adjusted lighting or even atmosphere modeling. Any details on that? I'm not saying it's Afghan-map-specific. I just noticed it around the time of Afghanistan release.
  8. Thanks Scott-S6, but that'd need to be some 3 times smaller Nevermind, making it myself. Don't forget we've got a SOLENOID LATCHING 3-pos switch to make as well (fuel balance switch)
  9. @Mr_Burns You'd have to be 90 years old to be part of the design process for that panel Interesting story and you were very lucky. BTW, Cura slicer has an option to print loaded 3D model as a casting form, just like that.
  10. If you don't mind me asking... Were you involved in designing the panel? Or do you work in aerospace engineering?
  11. Custom switches for those special cases in F-5E cockpit: 1. Left panel - Bomb ARM 2. Right panel - Fuel balance 3. Right panel - Cabin temp 4. Throttle - speed brake rocker 5. Throttle - flaps slider Alternatives: Ad. 4. Industrial rotary switch plus a lever / takes lots of space! / step angle matching required Edit: This is pretty much exactly what I have in mind. [ ] BUY LONG TO-BE-CUT M4 SCREWS Ad. 5. .............. continuing from For this kind of work a stock of externally threaded M12 pipe would be useful, to have a ready-made starting point. Those huge thumb rocker for airbrake and the slider for the flaps are also something I'm going to have to devise on my own. Well, the thread standards don't make it any easier. Chinese ~11.8x0.75 pitch =~ M12x0.75 Polish/Russian ~11.9x1.0 pitch =~ M12x1.0 Standard machine metric tap 12x1.75 pitch American MIL standard (MIL-DTL-3950?) "Threaded bushing—0.468 in (11.89 mm) dia., 32 threads/inchKeyway—0.068 x 0.035 in (1.73 x 0.89 mm) deep; provides anti-rotation" = 15/32-32 UNF???
  12. (continued in the F-5E simpit thread)

  14. Yes, as you can swe above. 3- or 4- position lever switches, cross pattern.
  15. @No1sonukCould you please post a photo of the solution? Problematic switches: 1. Left panel - Bomb ARM 2. Right panel - Fuel balance 3. Right panel - Cabin temp
  16. Has anyone tried to make a custom one from scratch or some carriage to convert a regular 2-way On-(On) switch? There at least 2 of such switches needed for the F-5E vertical panel.
  17. Yeah, someone's confusing the newsletter with a change log. Speaking of which. No wiff of an actual update? I'm particularly after the updated landing gear physics. It wouldn't be sensible to expect ED removing Caucasus altogether but that landing gear thingy for Dora and F-5E (my only 2 active modules) is something I really hope to be released before winter.
  18. Hey, don't put it like that. I, for one, find it very useful to know where ED's going, even when it's communicated in relaxed-timeline mode.
  19. The 3D model featured in the latest promotional video seems to be the old one
  20. ED tip of the day: Instead of saying "enjoy your day!" to your neighbour say "enjoy the next 12 hours."
  21. May I have the source for the Su-25 screenshot?
  22. There's a reason VR *requires* high consistent FPS. You can lie to yourself quite effectively (or be too in the dark to set up a simple test) but a puke is not something you can lie to
  23. The damaged connector was easier to repair than I thought. I don't need the back lighting but I felt obliged to revive it fully. A banana with no back lighting for scale. In reality the light is more of a bright orange and has more contrast at the same time. EDIT: DCS gets it absolutely spot-on as it is indescernable in full daylight.
  24. I'm so grateful for my rig config. Not a hint of MT problems. And the system is GPU-bound still for DCS, even with RTX 2080/2070. Intel i3-12100F
  25. The Lock On ones are so bad I'd be for replacing them with vaguely similar ones Is there a wishlist thread for that?
