  1. Any explanation on this? I only had Dora and Tiger installed prior to updating. Now every single FC aicraft is set to "Use in game". It's not a problem for me, just several sliders to be switched, but it's weird.
  2. Jest updated after some 3 months 16 GB it was for me.
  3. @mayo25 It would have to be either a Swiss AF pilot or a USAF Aggressors pilot. I have never seen any RL pilots chiming in here on the forums. I tried to get in contact with any people involved with F-5E through a pilot working with demo teams attending international venues, no luck so far.

  5. Hi! Just stumbled upon a mission creator doing a complete playthrough of his Iran vs Iraq war mission. In that playthrough he explains A LOT about the differences between the fidelity and functionality of the 2 modules. DCS F-5E Tiger Flaming Cliffs 3 : Operation Revenge playthrough - YouTube —
  6. Looks interesting! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3340770/ Q: For FC3?! A: (author) If you open it in the mission editor and select Lion formation you can change those to the F-5E-3 (full fidelity version). Don’t forget to put the weapons back on!

  9. @scommander2Thanks for sharing!
  10. @Skuva Ah, sorry for not noticing the video! I was going to 50 tabs of "to read" dcs forums posts. I chimed in specifically to confirm I witnessed a similar behavior of lighting. DCS forums are full of people seeing only what slaps them on the face at the same time having a high drive to post "I don't see the problem" so I know first hand that any fellow confirming an issue is valuable. The Track (with all mods disabled) requirement is as I stated - an internal set-in-stone requirement by ED. In any graphics-related issue a DxDiag report is also required. Those are not up for debate. Since I wouldn't want this issue to be dismissed I'm sharing what I know on issue reporting here.
  11. For sure. He's talking about the thing in DCS where correct and intended lighting is "loaded" with a big delay. In my case I always see it correct itself (loaded) after no more than 3 seconds. A quick video recording should catch that so I suggest the OP adds such a recording to a track file required to officially register this as a tracked issue. @Skuva
  12. Hi Skid! I'd suggest you first go pure i.e. get rid of all post-processing settings or similar. They pose additional variables, not to mention there are usually no provisions to warn the user of overlapping techniques. I recall at one time in ArmA 3 we could set some 4+ Anti-Aliasing techniques to be processed at the same time. Please mind that I use a G-Sync-capable display. If you don't, adjust accordingly. Then followup with some screenshots showing specific areas you see as artifacts or poor rendering. Good luck! Following the thread in case you respond. My specs Specs: 1440p Intel i3-12100FRTX 2070 8GB MSI64 GB RAM https://youtu.be/dMHsoiMvP_0

  14. It literally causes loss of situational awareness if only plain water is in the view. Examples aside, this has no place in 2010's. 15. Marking the article posted by @draconus as a solution to point any reader to the article explaining the problem and possible solutions programmers may employ, to at least avoid mute discussions about the existence of the problem in DCS.
  16. Speaking of the armament. Do you guys have any interesting recordings showing the supposedly improved water and other fluid leak effects, as per the most recent update?
  17. Any feedback on OpenTrack? I haven't updated it since January
  18. True, windmills are not the best references. Radar Altimeters vs trees should suffice as @Megalax stated. I'm glad I'm off the hook with this particular issue. My DCS-ing has been 100% Caucasus-free for months now.
  19. @Megalax Thanks for the info! Really appreciated. The discrepancy is clearly there, you pointed out the magnitude of it pretty well. As for ED's decision to go for that compromise - I think the universal stance of people not agreeing with the decision is that the spoiled sense of height/scale is too extreme to be worth it.
  20. You are mostly seeing drama in what essentially is a discussion on technicalities and realism and you bestow upon us "there good and bad things about DCS." Why don't you read what @Megalaxhposted.
  21. DCS F-5E: ambient: crickets audio added...
  22. Change of plans. Since it all takes so long I'm focusing on most compact items first. This means panels and electronics. The following shot presents all the rotary switches I need. The rest are either encoders or potentiometers.
  23. Took me years before it clicked for me But wouldn't pin-point it passed a "helmeted character" as I never watched any mecha. Not an anime fan so I needed a push like that to recall an over-the-top anime on F1+ racing. Absolutely exotic in Central Europe of the time (early 90's). https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Arrow+Emblem+Grand+Prix+no+Taka&iax=images&ia=images In the following decades I discovered that some of the animations I used to enjoy and took for granted as Western were either anime or by Japanese animation studios (Cities of Gold, Nils Holgersson, Maya The Bee...). That said during the many years on the forums I always enjoyed discussions GG was involved in. A guaranteed good read!
  24. I extended my comment to various technical goods in general. As for the switching components, it's often the case everything can be ordered until you actually try to place an order OR the shipping and low-volume pricing sends the price to the orbit. To be precise, in case of switching components I mostly mean the high pricing. TME, RS, Mouser, yes, I know those retailers. Let's take the ALPS RKJXT1F42001 4P switch for the trim hat. For 4 of those I could have bought some all-metal flight stick base. The only reason I was able to buy them for around $12-15 a piece is that a Polish racing sim rig company was re-selling them.
