  1. at 00:38s You can compare the source file audio (attached), already deteriorated once by nVidia GFE. Then youtube deteriorates it again. That's why I'm still searching for a practical solution: vlc-record-2024-10-31-13h46m52s-vlc-record-2024-02-25-19h58m13s-copy-simple-filename.mp4
  2. I was talking about generic rumble sounds. You know, the kind infinitely better than the current silence Hell, I doubt a single soul would complain if you slap Dora's buffeting on that first implementation Seriously, brilliant work on the Dora! A methanol-injected symphony with a live airframe. Some people don't remember but F-5E has already received an engine audio update in the past, to a very positive effect. Now we just need a touch on the airframe...
  3. There, I said it! I know what most of you are going to say: Well, it was perfectly fine for moustache-wielding machos of the day! I say: Well, it's damn small! My palm is large, but I never use XL working gloves. And with B8, assuming the dimensions of the 3D model are fine, I could almost put my thumb on the very top of the stick, almost over the 4-way hat. Then with the middle section, there's only ONE finger I can fully wrap around on it and I wouldn't call it a power finger... A relaxed-grip thumb rests on the dogfight switch to a large degree. 4. Kind of related: I think I've read somewhere the But kicker creators have some integrations ready for some of DCS aircraft that is NOT based solely on audio input. Any info on any kind of work with the aim to expose some vibration telemetry officially in DCS?
  5. You star! @Flappie Or just ask for establishing hooks and relevant template sdef files. There's plenty of rumble audio on the internet
  6. No. WizFile is an instant file finder. Faster even than the pre-Vista Windows Search. Not to mention Windows 10+ search. WizTree, in addition to creating a visual map of files, can also be used for ultra fast searching. I don't know whether you're talking about external or internal models but those two mod makers pretty much did what there can be done as far as re-texturing goes: lee1hy Yemet Topic:
  7. You got that wrong. I never leave the circuit!
  8. @Jimbo It came out too good to be mistaken with the original What aicraft is your lever for? Initially I was not planning on doing the LDG module but then I realized taking of and landing is 90% of what I do in DCS.

Sorry, no idea. Never worked with such files. Only built parts from scratch and exported as .stl for 3D printing. Though I can help myself with that by now, I‘m still a total noob when it comes to 90% of FreeCad.

It was a blind shot on my part. Anyway, the main problem is solved, of the doh! kind 😉

  11. D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-5E\Sounds.edce Not a single *.sdef file contains any of the following: buffet shake vibration Sounds.edce Not a single *.lua file contains any of the following in either audio or FM context: buffet shake vibration Sounds.edce D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Doc\Sounds\example.sdef contains sdef usage description. In conclusion: There's not a wiff of a trail to follow with this.
  12. PLEASE don't give up on it I find it hard to believe that F-5E audio files lack the control files. Those were common, as far as I remember, all the way from Black Shark 1 times, ~2010. Are you aware that the Resource Monitor shows disc access for specific files in real-time? EDIT: Another tool for that is https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer
  13. Any updates? That seems like quite a meaty case.
  14. Nice work! Puts my workshop bootleg stuff to shame.
  15. That's why I bought the Channel Map, despite much higher risk of not getting any updates.
  16. My household project no 2 done That dovetail was so satisfying to fit! The puzzle bulge was totally lose so it required glue. Still, a solid wide laptop stand for a 15"-er. As was having that (necessary) edge relief at the bottom of the dovetail socket (Freecad - Subtractive pipe, sketched 1-2 mm circle).
  17. yes https://wiki.freecad.org/Sketcher_External What you see below is the most probable culprit. One click too many and I ended up with a copy of a sketch within the sketch. I Discoverer it by draggjng on a random line. TODO: Selecting things below!
  18. Part design, and it was a hiccup. It works for me now. Now I have this gizmo to deal with https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=91554
  19. A good example, creating a laptop stand just now - I think I used a "sketch on a wall of an existing solid" already but I don't remember how to do it/get weird results. -> [CAD CAM Lessons @ YouTube] - [Zero to Hero] Part 4 - YouTube —
  20. It's hard for me to respond to. Each simple thing I do in FreeCAD I accomplish with bare minimum knowledge to do so. I barely started with 0.21 and made literally only one simple model. With simple models you mainly spend time in the Sketcher and it just so happens the 1.0 improvements make it much easier to use. Tu put it differently, for months from now and many new makes I'm going to have to constantly reach for the references on the very basics, over and over.
  21. I'm grinding my way through FreeCAD. Battling with the poor readability of the default Sketcher view (some weird font outline, lines too thick...) I stumbled upon a signature of this guy https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?p=601399#p601399 A comprehensive lecture on sketcher! Reaaallly sweet, in several languages - English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
  22. @YSIAD_RIP Yeah, it seems sim devs are universally good at everything BUT colors. So many issues and a universal Settlers IV color skew.
