I guess the massive acceleration speed of the jet during afterburner is just to subtle for some to get their heads round..

I wounder if there is that double rendering bug of the displays that plagued one of the first builds for the harrier?

I think the in cockpit sounds of the engine are way off, it sounds like they have just muffled the exterior sounds a bit. The sounds are not unpleasant but are not what you hear from some of the YouTube videos, especially with that signature whine the pegasus gives off just before full throttle when viewed from in cockpit.

VR definitely needs some more love.

Sad news. YouTube star John 'TotalBiscuit' Bain dies aged 33 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44250597

Should it work in or is it ment for VR? Ive tried it and it flattens the screen like the VR zoom button is held in other than that it really makes things super clear all be it a bit fishbowled. Could this just be a bug? i would be interested in trying it out in VR.

+1 on all points

I dont use it to be honest, its a nice feature for copilots to have and use in shared cockpits but its not practical for a pilot to take their hands off the stick to pick up another controller just to click a button. If you can get used to it then using the VR to look at the buttons using the fixed cursor gets pretty close to being functional but comes with its own set if issues. You can buy small usb touchpads that can be mounted somewhere close to your hands that proberbly do a better job tham a mouse. Ifind sometimes in a panic a bash the mouse and then blindly have to search for it. Guess until we get hand tracking or tactile gloves for VR then there will always be compromises.

Well it kind of sucks because any vr user's out there cant very easily do any night missions, if it is a game wide issue then it falls into EDs court and this could be an issue with any module or supporting campaign that might have missions requiring NVG's. Guess RAZBAM should edit the harrier to AV8B D/A for the time being...
-
i would be happy with an option just to disable it in the graphics settings if it cant be immediately fixed.

I was doing a few night missions today (sounds weird) and noticed that there seems to be a possible issue with the NVG system in VR. It appears that it only shows the NVGs to be working in the left eye almost like a monocle set up? combine this with the HUD FLIR (which only seems to work best over water) gives a very trippy experience. I'm right eye dominant so if ED have introduced a monocle setup and its not in fact a bug is there any way that we can have an option to choose which eye we have it positioned over? Has anyone else noticed this or can confirm what im seeing is correct?

Is there a way I can turn it off?

Thanks mate, you learn something new every day lol!

This is a bit of a tough one because most of it comes down to personal preference and your setup. I centrally mount my stick using the Virpil desk mounts and use an extension to raise the stick which gives it a more natural throw while actually lowering the gimbal slightly to keep the stick at a comfortable height as this feels alot different to just using your wrist. Moving more of your arm tends to give you more control and more comfort, a big plus if you like flying choppers because with a longer throw (extension) on your stick you can get back alot of that really high sensitivity around the center of the stick synonymous to helicopter flight. If you are using a purpose built rig without a desk then my advice to you would be to get the stick gimbal mounted on the floor (or as close to it) and use an extension to get the stick up to the height you want, you could probably leave the stick gimbal on the deck while just having to detach the extension if you wanted to give yourself more space. Virpil and VKB are both high end products and they give you a good deal of flexibility when it comes to creating your own setup the warthog shouldn't be overlooked either. Personally i couldn't go back to using a desktop setup as the difference is actually quite big in terms of fine control. i think part of the reason for making the side stick in the F16 force sensing is probably due in part to the amount of deflection possibly required with the minimal space within the cockpit and i would guess probably for comfort as well. good luck sorting it all out

Just checking out the update and noticed that Tonopah might be missing? pretty sure it was there before.. Anyone else confirm this?

I would make an assumption then that the Normandy map will probably be updated only after the strait of homus is released?

Awesome work! This will more than likely be used in the 504th for some of our mission making moving forward. ;-)

Viggen Red Flag 16-2 Campaign Sample

That's Awesome thanks very much! -
Your welcome, glad i could help. In short Jet pipe temp is the key indicator to how much vectoring you can do, the higher the temperature the less time you have to do it. Have fun mate.

Hi Hummingbird, It depends on many factors the main ones being weight, altitude, air temperature. These are key factors in how long you can sustain a hover or how long you can use the combat power switch. The higher the throttle setting used and the higher the angle of the nozzle will determine how much heat is generated and the three main factors mentioned above will have an impact on performance and duration. The below picture is a snippet from the AV8B manual showing duration limits for the engine jet pipe temperature. In this chart focus on the JPT temp and the A B C D E duration limits and cross reference the numbers written in the notes and read the off the corresponding numbers against the text at the bottom of the chart to see what the causes are. You need to monitor the JPT temperature as this will tell you how long you have before you start losing engine performance and ultimately damaging the engine. hope this helps.

This would actually be really handy to have! something to quick reference.

DCS 1.5.8: F10 map and blackened textures
RuskyV replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in VR Bugs
I have the same issues also, when exiting the map view. -
Well that sucks a bit because that means then that you always need an internet connection in order for it to authorize you modules. Im also getting the same issues as the OP
