  1. It's not an ideal way to have your RAM set up like that. Having 3 sticks of different sizes, but it doesn't really matter. It will work all the same. The ideal way to set up DDR RAM is to have two sticks of the same size and speed for max perforance. You could always order 2 512 sticks and sell your 2 256 sticks. But it's more for hard core upgraders who want to get the most from their systems. But thats the way to do it if you want.
  2. They were at medium-high settings at 1024x768 resolution 4xAA and 8xAF they are advanced features which you can adjust in your graphic card settings. Your system appears to have two RAM sticks of 256MB giving you a total of 512MB. If your motherboard has an extra free RAM slot which it should you will have your 1Gig of RAM. When you order your RAM, make sure it says it runs at 333mhz. It will say either DDR333 or PC2700 or both. They are the same thing.
  3. Will it feature retreating blade stalls? Chopping down trees with the rotors, lol. It will be great to see the Ka-50 ejection system in action. Rotor blades flying everywhere.
  4. Your system uses DDR333/PC2700, yes? You posted it one the other fourm. Kingston is good and so is Corsair. Make sure the RAM you buy runs at the same speed as the RAM you already have. It got 30-65FPS with my old settup. It depends on how busy the game got and if you are flying low over a city for example. Now with my new system I get 60-85fps, sometimes it can spike up to 120-150fps when I look at just sky. Thats with a 6800GT and A64 3200+, 1Gig RAM settup.
  5. SAPPHIRE 100557-RD Radeon 9800PRO 256MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - OEM This one is the best of the bunch IMO. The extra texture RAM on the card will help with the big textures used in Lockon. I used to own the exact same make and model and it performed very well in my old system which had a XP-2600. I would be cautious of refurbished cards. I can't say I've had experience with one myself but I'd feel better knowing my card was brand new. Don't bother with the All in wonder cards. Too many extras that you don't need.
  6. Yes it would be great, that's why the USAF made the F-15E. The F-15A/B/C/D are not a pound for air to ground fighters. With the exception of Israel which arm their F-15A/B/C/Ds with dumb bombs, JDAMs, AGM-142 and GBU-15 weapons. Their F-15I has a lot more air to ground options available to it on top of the above.
  7. Like Falcon4. If you want to eject you can look down and pull the eject handle with your mouse instead of CTRL+E,E,E. It's brilliant. Having the option of both is the best solution. Clickable cockpit and key strokes. That way everyone is happy. I'm with Roman on the memory thing. I have the whole keyboard command list printed out and keep it beside me at all times when I play FC.
  8. I never noticed before. I gave the F-15 a break a long time after discovering the joys of the Su-27 and the mud movers. And I never play on-line, which is just as well really considering I did not notice this feature. Would have annoyed a lot of friendlies. I just use the NCTR feature in STT and then go to TWS mode. But now I know better.
  9. Only if they are available when you select Israel and pick the F-15, then it will be real. USAF F-15s have their air-to-ground mode locked out but can be re-activated with a software disk. Could use Mk-82/84, or Mk20. On centreline and underwing only. Not worth doing really.
  10. Really?! I did not think the Superhornet deal went through. I knew they were considering it. Thanks for the info Alfa. That's some mix of fighters Malaysia will have. F/A-18D/E, MiG-29SD and Su-30MKMs. It will be good to see how they compare to each other in training. I think the MKM will out perform them in pure performance stakes.
  11. Oh yeah. F-15E, bring it on. Oh the possibilities. One day, maybe one day we will be able to fly it in all it's destructive glory.
  12. They are a bit. The have the N019M radar and are thus able to launch the R-77 missile. So they are a bit more advanced than the standard A version. Besides Malaysia have an order of Su-30MKMs due. The MiG-29SD will become the secondary backup fighter then.
  13. And that is why the F-15 needs IFF. Sorry I can't help. I don't play online due to my laggy 1Mb/s connection.
  14. Along with re-modeled TERs on the A-10. The one we have now leave a lot to be improved on. The tripple LAU-88 rails for the AGM-65s are fine, Just the BRU-42 racks need a bit of work. Then I'll be happy.
  15. A games developer favourite comment ''done when it's done'' applies here. A great comment that both covers their ass and takes the heat off them for a while from loyal followers such as ourselves.
  16. More JSF F-35 cockpit mockups An early model Su-34 pit below. A more up to date one will be introduced to production models when they are built.
  17. Like Falocn 4 then. You can choose the cold start or not that takes between 5 and 8 minutes. The reason it takes so long is that you have to wait for the INS to allign itself. I love that part. And you can still use all your keyboard commands and HOTAS controls. Every button around the MFDs in Falcon all have their own keyboard shortcut aswell. Each of the two MFDs has 20 buttons each. It's maddness but I love it. Can't wait for the day ED introduce this in future products.
  18. Yep it can carry the same gunpods as the Su-25T. It can even drop bombs.
  19. If you can, replace the FX5200 ASAP. A great card to buy now is the ATi 9800pro, they are really cheap now but the performance you get for the price is very good. It will almost double your fps in Lockon compared to the FX5200. The 9800pro costs around E140 or £90. If you want to spend a bit more, the 6600GT is a good choice. No point in getting a faster card than that as your 2.6Ghz P4 will hold it back. Another 512 RAM will help in a big way too. FPS= frames per second. This is how many times per second your computer can generate the next image in the game. Very low FPS, like 5 or 10 FPS can look like a series of still screenshots of the game, not good for flying at all. You want to be getting 35-40FPS minimum to play well. A good moniter able to handle a resolution of 1024x768 or higher is all you need. The game will look the same, moniters do not effect graphics at all. Only what resolution you can play the game at and that depends on your graphics card aswell. Lockon is a bit of a system hog. It will use the all the power of the fastest PCs out there and still manage to suffer from a FPS drop at times. A good way to benchmark your system and compare it to others is to go to. http://www.futuremark.com and download 3D Mark 03 with the latest patch and run it to benchmark your system. You can then compare it to others online. While you are waiting to buy the game you can download the demo of Lockon here http://www.lo-mac.com/index.php Click on the picture of the MiG-29 in the right of the screen with the flashing green writing saying download the Lockon demo now.
  20. Don't bother with a force feed back stick. Save your money for a good HOTAS settup. As for your multiplayer questions, I think the link below covers everything. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7597 http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/3811046082 Any more questions after all that. Just ask. Also you can visit here. The other half of the Lockon community hang out here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=99610606 But we all plan to migrate to the .ru fourms eventually
  21. I'm well up to date on the MiG-29 variants. I think anyway. Alfa, do you have any links to the (9-25) designation. I googled it and could not find it, not even my (9-15D) designation. But I believe now that this designation would apply to any MiG-29M sold for export equiped with Western systems. http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avmig29.html#m4 The model numbers I know of are as follows. Just roughly from memory. 9-12 Fulcrum A 9-12A/B Fulcrum A export, A for Warsaw Pact, B for other nations. 9-51 Fulcrum B, MiG-29UB trainer, no radar. 9-13 Fulcrum C added ECM and fuel. 9-13S/SD/SE as above but added N019M radar and R-77. 9-17, SMT/1/2. Multirole with upgraded cockpit and systems. 9-52, UBT/1/2, two seater of the SMT. Full combat ability 9-15, 29M. Advanced multi-role combat ability. 9-15D, 29M1/2. 1 is single seat, 2 is two seater. full combat ability 9-25????? 29M also???? MiG-29KVP, one off test aircraft of the K. MiG-29K (9-31) initial K, carrier based multi-role fighter. MiG-29K (9-41) revised K for Indian Navy, updated avonics and Zhuk-M radar. MiG-29KUB (9-47) two seat version of the 9-41 with full combat ability. MiG-29OVT, Thrust vectored test bed and with wing tip pylons for extra R-73 missiles. And if the Yakhont is too big and heavy, which it does look to me BTW. Why is it put in front of a MiG-29 display?
  22. That sounds about right. Only for stations 3 and 5 on the MiG-29A, I'm not sure if stations 2 and 6 are stressed for the weight on the S. Who want's to make a weapon mod? Anybody......?
  23. I think it's positive in Russia at least. I think it was Olgred who said that the Ka-50 was famous in Russia as it is featured in a popular TV show there. So ED are looking after their home market and cashing in at the same time. Nothing wrong in that? I say give ED all the money they want and we'll get what we want. Everybody wins.
  24. Will all the current flyables be carried over to the ''next project''? Or will one or two of the unpopular fighters be dropped in favour of more advanced variants of the type. The reason I ask is that in the recent poll held here, the Mig-29A did not do so well. compared to the MiG-29S which was one of the most popular for obvious reasons.
  25. Very nice pic. Alfa the early MiG-29M of the eighties is model 9-15. The new model M and M2 are model 9-15D. I never seen the 9-25 model number before. I read that India are getting some MiG-29K (9-31) fighters later this year. They were offered advanced versions of the K (9-41) and a two seat MiG-29KUB (9-47) but I think they went for the standard k model. Another pic of the MiG-29SMT. Note the large missile. It's the Yakhont, an anti-ship missile. To date it has not been intergrated on the MiG-29 as no customer has asked for it. 3 pics of the strange looking MiG-29UBT
