OT: The Russian Knights now have Su-35s.
Cobra360 replied to Cobra360's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
As already mentioned above they currently have 5 Su-35s. I'd love to see them perform a display them. Also Su-35s are cleared to 10G as standard, so that airframe must be stronger than the standard Su-27s. -
That was the old plan before Ubi lost faith in the project and pulled out. The F/A-18 addon was to be next but instead FC was made. Now ED look after it's home market, hence the Russian equipment. Thats not to imply the Western market does not enjoy it aswell.

A pic of one of five Su-35s the Russian Knights now use along with the Su-27S and Su-27UB. For those in doubt, check the IFR probe. The slightly larger radome for the N-011 or Zhuk-M radar. The offset IRST ball, twin wheel nose gear and finally the tall square topped tail fins. Also the bearly visible canard leading edge.

I managed to land the F-15 on the Kuz, I was very pleased with myself. If only I still had the sreenshot to prove it. Sigh. Oh and to help even more set the Kuz to max speed and put a strong head wind over the deck. That should help a bit.
-
You could also say it's the front of a F/A-18 with the back of a F-16. :D
-
Because the F-16s currently in Lomac are Aviano base Block 40s. They can be armed with LANTIRN pods for LGBs which was their main mission. The Block 50s are tasked with dealing out AGM-88s and has the HTS pod to do along with it. In saying that Block 40s can fire AGM-88s blind but not target them like a HTS Block 50 can

It can only carry dummy moskits, it has no software to launch a live guided missile. Money for the project ran out.

Japan has cancelled further F-2 production. It will not meet the planned number it was ment to. This is due in part to Japan changing is defence tactics and the large number of F-2 is not needed. Instead Japan want a new heavy fighter. Possibly a version of the F-15T that is beeing offered to Singapore. Word has being going round that Japan is looking at the F/A-22 as a possible future purchase.
-
I have also seen the S-8 rocket pods mounted in this configuration aswell.
-
The living proof.
-
I think it's a pic of the Su-27P, still all part of the same big happy family.
-
This is the intermediate Su-27 flap position thats not in the game.
-
But that only works for the F-15, A-10, Su-25 and Su-33. The Su-27 should have it aswell, I have seen them with their flaps in the intermediate position. Not sure if the MiG-29 flaps are done correctly, just up or down?

The B-1B can carry nearly every dumb bomb. JDAMs, CBU, B-61, AGM-129, AGM-86, AGM-154 and AGM-158 in the latest models. Plus the NOE autopilot that can fly the plane at 200ft off the deck at 600kts. But I'd love to see the F-15E or Su-30MK, KN, MKI before that.

Admiral Kuznetsov Video
Cobra360 replied to experimental_pilot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It used to be a great free site. But the price of hosting caused it to get the way it is. If you got there a month ago when that vid was there you could have downloaded it at around 100kbps. Its a shame really. -
Admiral Kuznetsov Video
Cobra360 replied to experimental_pilot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That vid is on http://www.patricksaviation.com aswell. No need to wait at fileplanet. Most of the footage is from the Kuznetsov's first cruise since it was in port for a major refit and overhaul. It was in the Med late last year getting the air crew back operationl. The Su-33s had some problems with their RAWHS. As two Israeli fighters came up to escort a Su-33 and the pilot did not even know they were there until they were flying just off his wingtip. It sure is, for some proper Tu-160 action, I think we would need a map to include Russia, Europe, the Atlantic and the U.S. I'm happy with the fighter selection as it is, one or two more specific one would be nice. But if another development team wanted to to a bomber sim, the ideas are cropping up here.
-
B-1B for the US and a Tu-22M3 or a Tu-160 for the Russian side. Tu-160 flattening everything in sight at Mach 2. If only.
-
Just the F/A-18 uses the AGM-154 in Lomac. Only flyable if you mod it to be.
-
I believe thats called digital camo. The USMC use it on their uniforms aswell.
-
Tried it already, and got the exact same result. Fuel ran out too quickly but still speed increasing painfully slowly.
-
I even tried it with one external tank and punched it off when it was empty but I still flamed out at the max I got was M2.39 at 38,000ft and about 730IAS.
-
I just made another attempt, this timw I changed the temperature to -20C seeing as turrbofan jet engines produce more thrust at colder temperatures. This time I got M2.39, I'm not complaining. This seems accurate to me. When the F-15 was designed it was required to have a top speed of M2.5 and this target was only reached in theory. One gripe I have though was that I was able to pull 12G at M1.55 and the wings remained on the jet. IRL this would cause the fighter to rip apart. Even the Eurofighter is limited to 6.5G while supersonic as any more would break it. And the Eurofighter is the first fighter along with the F/A-22 to reach 6.5G while supersonic.
-
I got M2.38 in the F-15 just now, it would have went a bit higher but I ran out of fuel.

ED, I think I found a great source of info on F16
Cobra360 replied to leafer's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Works for me, I'm too lazy to go to the shops, so buying from SimWare suits me better. As for Starforce, I don't even know its there. Never had any trouble from it ever and I have SH3 which has Starforce aswell. I'm just happy ED keep improving and making sims.
