  1. CA and infantry needs work, they're working on better animations. As for infantry returning fire while under fire, perhaps the suppression script may bring a more realistic behavior.
  2. The little bird is ruled out because of license issues and the manufacturer not wanting to provide a license. The Apache is mostly for the same reason not in development. There is something in the forum about these two statements. That leaves the Cobra and perhaps some transport helicopters. Razbam most likely will do a CH-53 as per their bug bunny cover-up picture. Belsimtek will work on the Hind, most likely together with ED. Interesting times ahead for RW pilots.
  3. Painter, where you flying the harrier by chance?
  4. Which parking spot did you select?

Razbam may consider to reduce the smoke output, this thing can be seen coming from a bit further than the English did the Bismarck.
  6. A bit off-topic, but this is from Fastjetpermformance.com, describing a, up to that time, boring flight over Iraq in a RAF Tornado:
  7. Crap, just printed and binded it yesterday, oh well, off we go again :D Aaand found a Typo on page 102, under Anti-ship Strike at station 2 it's named a GUB-16, I think this should be a GBU-16.
  8. Isn't it the same behavior you would expect when landing on water? AFAIK the DCS map is usually all water with land rendered on top of it. As such, the stitching errors you see actually give means to land on the water area underneath the land mass. YMMV though...
  9. Use the CTLD script for this. You can task both human UH1 players and the AI UH1 to pick up troops and drop them. From the drop, you can have them follow waypoints via normal scripting.
  10. Great stuff! Thank you!
  11. So, black friday sale?
  12. Came across an interesting snippet in the russian part of the forums: I tried to lift the load on the Mi-8, the tail beam breaks off at a vertical speed of less than 0.5 m / s, although it was normal under the same conditions. On p. 300-301 the problem was raised. While Omen advised to do so: A bug with a beam can be temporarily corrected as follows. The folder with the game \ Mods \ aircraft \ Mi-8MTV2 \ FM \ FMOptions.lua. TailSharpNegNyLim = -3 this is changed to TailSharpNegNyLim = -1000000. It probably will not work with integraty check on the network. I did it, it helps. Works in multiplayer. Also, apparently, the MTV-2 is equipped with different types of cargo hooks: If the lock DG-65 is installed, then it allows you to carry cargoes with a weight of up to 12,000 kg. In this case, the weight of the suspension is not limited by a lock, but constructively, no more than -5000 kg. The lock is made for DG-64M. Up to 3000 kg is a limitation, but each lock has a safety margin, at least double, and it should not break with weight over 3000 kg. In any case, we do not have such a breakdown of the castle.
  13. I agree that something is amiss with slingloading, especially why heavier weight cargoes are implemented but cannot be lifted :). I don't think the damage model foresees the misuse of slingloading and the application of damage to the airframe, perhaps that is te reason the tailboom comes off? When slingloading first was released, I had an incident where the whole helicopter would simply blow-up if you pulled too much power from the engines, no warning, just boom.
  14. The maximum slingload weight is 3000 kilo and that's doable on a good day, no wind and at sea-level. I think you overstressed that airframe and it simply collapsed.
  15. Can't you derive the distances from the Mi8 manual?
  16. From last 132nd FWIT training, the view from the RED AWACS, Crystal.
  17. Well, be patient a little longer. Bignewy has stated that the fixes to slingload were not incorporated due to the merger of code. Patience is a virtue :)
  18. A busy night for the RED AWACS during our Fighter Weapons Instructor Training event from the 132nd and external organisations: One of the tasks was CSAR, Combat Search And Rescue which was successfully completed: Credits to the screenshot makers Q and LooneyT.
  19. Hop on over to the 132nd website / server and read through the documents and folders. We can get you on the TS server and you can observe as an external on one of our trainings and see/hear if this is to your liking. Yurgon tried, it was hook, line and sinker and now he's onboard regularly :) http://132virtualwing.org/ or shoot me a PM. We're also on Discord if you want to say hi.
  20. The GBU-12/10s use "Bang-Bang" control, that means that their control surfaces will always deflect to maximum and back to zero. In doing so, it creates a very simple system but it has its drawbacks, the most important one is already mentioned in this thread, it bleeds energy all the time it tries to home in on the laser spot and can, in some cases will, fall short of the target. Lasing for the last 10 seconds means the GBU hasn't bled a lot of energy and there's still plenty to guide the bomb on target. That we usually do is acquire laser spot from the JTAC, switch off laser, do your run and call pickle and call laser on so the JTAC switches on his laser to illuminate the target. Works very good.
  21. Download the VFR maps from here: http://www.ariescon.com/index10.html Everything you need to know is in there.
  22. Manual start after repair, I rarely use the auto-start.
  23. You'll need to use the radio menu as that's the only method I know of to execute scripts via user interaction.
  24. The thing is, you get shot at by that same AI that sees through trees and has instant knowledge about you when you enter their detection range. They'll know where you are, how high you are, speed and course. So that moment you enter their engagement range, wham, the firework start. Why not use your wingman for a piece of that same pie? I do and it does make mission a bit easier but it's not a cheat or god-mode.
  25. Feature request; With the arrival of a civilian aircraft mod, is it possible to integrate the NEUTRAL status to a contact? The UNKNOWN cannot be assigned by the controller and we can't set it to blue or red because it doesn't meet the requirements.
