If you want the key before next September then you'll need to buy directly now. Well worth it in my opinion. Or you could wait for a sale or shop around online maybe to see if there's any weekly specials or the like.

Ish - check post #1053 in this thread. 3 of the planes are free.

With any KS campaign the developer is relying on people with a variety of motivations to back them. I'm just raising a concern of mine and I think others will likely feel the same way. Luthier can choose to address those concerns or not and then I'll make the choice appropriate for me. That's the way KS works.

You can change your pledge amount up or down at any point up until it closes. So to be honest if I see we're at say $130k with a few hours to go there's currently no real incentive for me to leave my pledge at $112 as I have no real interest in hard copies of manuals. I may as well lower my pledge at that point and keep the $80 to buy some planes in the future. But if there was something with a bit more incentive there like a future plane or two then I'd be happy to leave it as is even if it would be more cost effective for me to buy them after. I guess it's more a perception thing - I'm happy to chip in extra to support the game but I also need a little more back than a few manuals for that amount.

For us existing DCS customers who have the P51 and will likely buy the FW-190 once that comes out there's not a powerful incentive for us to pledge other than we really want to see the game made (which we do). I've pledged $112 currently and in effect I'll not be getting anything for that other than some manuals which I really couldn't be bothered with. I think an option to ditch the manuals and get a future plane or two would be more of an incentive. Right now I have to admit that after seeing that 3 of the planes are totally free anyway I'm not feeling like I'm getting a huge amount for my pledge. Yes we might push on to stretch goals but in the event that we don't hit $375k I think a provision for some other kind of reward should be there.

Exactly the things I'm not clear on from the KS page either. I kind of took it that they were making 3 flyables themselves and $20 got you one of them, 2 for $30 and 3 for $40. But then writing that $40 gets you all flyables seems to indicate that the Mustang and Dora will be included as they're listed under flyables. Then to top it all off further down the page he says that the free downloadable version comes with 3 flyables. This really should have been proof-read a bit better as if people pledged thinking one thing when it's really another thing it could hurt the pledging drive quite a bit.

DCS WWII: Europe 1944: Kickstarter Primer
Foul Ole Ron replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Good luck sticking to those lofty principles next year when you see us all flying around in high fidelity WW2 birds over a '44 EDGE map. -
Yep I imagine that if users could change swap the not wholly reliable 30mm out for the 20mm and remove the gondola pods that would probably be a more favoured configuration for dogfighting.

Kurfurst. Have to agree with others that something like a G-14 would be a far more desirable 109 variant. The K-4 seemed a bit of a departure from the quintessential 109 design of a highly maneuverable fighter.
-
Yes.. getting a bunch of new planes, a new map and a whole set of WW2 objects is definitely one step forward, two steps backward all because the devs want to break it out into two interchangable installs. Get a grip.
-
Keeping it separate makes more sense to me. Less to go wrong anytime there's an update with non-related stuff.
-
Looks great. Will definitely be backing on kickstarter. There's some real classic planes in that list that I'd love to fly at the study sim level.

They have to put out some sort of announcement today. If you explicitly state a date and then maintain total radio silence until then you really have to post something no matter what or it sends out a bad signal that the same problems as before are still present. First impressions count.

I use Peter P's mod - it's perfect for checking your six in the P51 with a look over your shoulder and prevents all the exorcist moves. Also allows you to see that pesky fuselage fuel gauge much more easily. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116

Thanks but I managed to find one in the input section. It's not quite what I wanted as I don't like using the pinky shift button but it gives me enough of a base to work up my own.

Anybody have a good X52 pro profile for BS2 they can share? I've been searching through the forums without much luck...

If ED were solely after "the big money" they probably wouldn't be in the business of making high fidelity flight simulations. -

I wouldn't say that - he gave quite a balanced review of the first go he had at it. I think he called it tech that's 80% there which sounds about right to me. The low resolution, movement latency and lack of keyboard visibility were the main downsides he called out and these are 3 areas which the OR devs specifically said they're working on to improve in a recent vid I saw. Just remains to see what the OR devs can put together now - if they can tie down the remaining technical problems it's going to be a game-changer. But until I see that happen I'll be sticking with Track IR.

Not that I've heard of but TeamVRC are working on the F-100D Super Sabre which they plan to release for free: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109596

Haven't noticed any difference. Prime for 6 seconds, switch the engine on and then switch the mixture after it sputters a couple of times works each time for me.

DCS 1.2.5 Released, Update 2 Released
Foul Ole Ron replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Go for it. Hasn't been any noticeable problems for me after the hot fix patch - I mostly fly the Huey and Mustang. -
Found it on this page where, now that I do google translate on it, I can see it states it's a replica so probably not reliable as a source... http://www.bredow-web.de/RAF_Museum/Focke_Wulf_Fw_190/focke_wulf_fw_190.html

They seem to be both the DCS way and the other way around as well sometimes in other pics I could find. Hard to say definitively which is the correct way - maybe both are perfectly fine. I don't have any official docs or anything. DCS way: Other way around:
