  1. It's EDGE for commercial flight sim software. That doesn't mean the EDGE landscape will look exactly like that in DCS as there's probably a lot of extra stuff happening in DCS that doesn't happen in a commercial flight sim. But it's probably representative of where the IG is going.
  2. The incentive is that you're helping to get a game you're interested in made with the other $35. Or you can just wait until next Sept and get your 3 free flyables and buy the FW190 when it's released. From a purely economic point of view that's the way to go but if you feel like chipping in to the KS given how much entertainment you'll get from DCS WW2 then $35 doesn't seem like much of a stretch. All up to you.
  3. I'd say that the $85 level is probably a good one as you'll get the FW-190 once ED release that into beta in DCS World.
  4. Did you install to the default location in Program Files or did you install to some other location on the C:\ drive? I just bought Tacview this evening, installed to the C:\ drive in a new folder I created, gave it admin rights and tested it on single player 1.2.6 without any problems.
  5. Well... it is. Wags seems to use the two interchangeably.
  6. Yep - I'd agree. In fact I think there needs to be one at $150k. Doesn't have to be something really major but something to aim for first. It would also help keep pledges at their existing levels and not getting suddenly lowered right at the end if, with the current setup, $375k doesn't look like it'll be achieved.
  7. 85 tier 2 is the one to go for if you want the 190 beta and don't care about alpha access. Once the 190 goes into beta in DCS World you'll have immediate access. Then once DCS WW2 is released you'll have it there too. May as well preorder the 190 and help out KS at the same time in my opinion.

  9. A lot of the development is done in Russia and most people tend to, you know, speak Russian there. They may have some English but are probably more comfortable talking about technical things in their native tongue. Subtitles are just fine anyway.
  10. Nice video. Glad to hear that EDGE is a fairly mature technology now. Bodes well for the final quality. Maybe for the next video we can get a peek of the FW-190 cockpit so people can see the work that RRG have done there?
  11. The update completion has been posted already. Way I see it for those who are on 40 currently but planned on buying the Dora immediately may as well up their pledge to the 85 level. The 190 will probably cost 50 when it comes out so you'd basically be pre-ordering the Dora while helping to boost the KS level.
  12. The only real way to interpret what he meant was that everybody got 3 for free (seems overly generous to me but anyway) and then after, if stretch goals were hit, you got an extra 1 for $20, 2 for $30 or all of them for $40. Still doesn't make much sense as an overall model but hey. Unfortunately it never read very clear hence all the confusion - I know I was totally confused initially. Somebody needs to use a proof-reader next time before sending out anything official.
  13. It's offering initial variety I suppose. There's already going to be 5 iconic single engine birds to fly and learn inside out. A flyable B17 would offer something completely different.
  14. I'd agree. Looking at the difference between the $100 and $200 level pledges - all you get currently for doubling your pledge to $200 is a mention in the game credits that absolutely nobody reads and takes 1 minute to program and a t-shirt. Not the most tempting reason to double down. Higher pledge levels are supposed to dangle something tempting in front of you. Hopefully there's some revisions made shortly.
  15. Bliss confirmed that it would be shipped to the door of whoever won.
  16. Which is why there'll be a lot of people sitting on lower pledge amounts not seeing a reason to bump it up with the current rewards. Similarly there might be others on the fence who might think they'll hold off pledging altogether until next year and try it out for free. A change to the rewards structure to give pledgers something concrete back in the game above and beyond what everybody gets for free would see a nice extra injection of funds in my opinion. It sounds like Luthier has some changes in mind so we'll see what comes along.
  17. More flyables for more money kicked in is the way to go. Stretch goals are nice but what people respond to is the definite getting of something once they kick in a bigger amount. Right now I could kick in $200 and if the stretch goals aren't met and I already have bought the P51 and FW-190 from ED all I'll get it is some manuals, a mention in the credits and a t-shirt (none of which I'd really want to be honest). That's ok for some people who want to just back the vision but there'll be a lot of people who will weigh up what they're getting for their hard-earned cash - that's the way most people's minds work. That's one reason Star Citizen was successful during KS - when you pledged a higher amount you got something concrete for use in the game.
  18. I think this would make a big difference. You've been very generous with the initial 3 flyables but there's probably a lot of people on $40 who would kick in more if there was another flyable at the $100 level. Similarly those at $100 might well be willing to kick in some more for the same kind of thing and who aren't interested in things like hard copies of manuals. Right now I don't see enough of an incentive to kick in higher amounts except for those people who really want to support the vision. A bit of a change to appeal more to the group of people who weigh up what they're getting back would probably reap dividends.
  19. I had similar problems tonight in the Huey. I hadn't flown it in a while and thought I was doing something wrong in the start-up sequence but had to use Home as well to get started.
  20. So because segregation ended in 1974 and apartheid in 1990 that means that he has some sort of inalienable right to be a troll on an internet forum. That's some unhinged logic right there. Such low quality trolling.
  21. I guess the other 608 who've backed so far didn't get the memo... Are you ok? You're actually coming across as a bit unhinged here tbh.
  22. Ok you've said your bit. Seeing as you have no interest in the project you may as well go elsewhere now or you just look ridiculously bitter.
