Yes! And your prize is....A FREE 3 figure number! Take your pick!

I have not done a lot in 1.1.10 but every time I have I have experienced multiple wierdness with the radios. ILS is also a radio (navaid). I wonder if its all screwed up. I would be surprised if that was not well documented by now though.
-
C/D! Hope they fix the carrier wake first!
-
Actually the chopper has only got me once or twice. Either myslef or my trusty wingman or some genius on the ground with a friendly SAM will take him out. It is one of the hundred SAM sites in the valley that has got me the other 28 times. Think I might try a simpler one, its all getting a bit Sonic the Hedgehog.
-
Well I was rather hoping to stand and fight! If I run away every time the bloomin thing goes off I might as well send my grandma and her rolling pin out there to protect the convoy / kill the enemy chopper/ destroy a milion SAM sites, save the civilians..etc etc. There is aprize for the first person to guess the mission! Anyway to bring this back OT. Some of you are doing clever things like reprogramming your cougars to rapidly change between a 016 and a 442 or whatever. That sounds a little bit like cheating to me? Or has the mighty BS got some sort of fast program change like the jolly old Hog?

Thanks Bucic, I will check it. Viper - I meant the LWS (Thanks Sobek! the name had escaped my mind) It is a bit rubbish, I mean 4 sensors, Front, Back , Left or Right. or maybe 8 since it must have top and bottom ones, but not a great deal of directional info is there? The mission I have been flying involves a rogue enemy chopper coming in. LWS says front. Well thats a big section of sky! Its only because I have flown it about 30 times that I know where hes coming from.

Well folks thanks for sharing your lucky numbers! I tried a few last night, a continuous drip feed which seemed quite good but I was still getting shot down now and again, that was 016 I also was trying to only use the side that faced the threat. Thats great as long as you remember to check you havent run out. Then I tried just dumping a ton whenever someone definately fired on me. 147. That seemed quite effective. too. At least more effective than the 512. My favorite evasive manoevre is to massively side slip (keeping nose on target) whilst descending out of sight and leaving a cloud of flares in the wake. That seems quite effective from the hover-sniper positions. Sometimes I ust dont see them coming untill too late. That warning thing is RUBBISH. I think my grandma could have come up with something more effective than that, if she had put her mind to it, and her expertise was more cakes, tea, ham and peas pudding.

Are you sure its R07? I just ask becaus its a bit confusing on the DIVERT page, or it was. Im with effte about the yellow bars: Forget them. They are not your primary indications so dont get confused by them (they dont or at least did not work properly) Like you said though, if your tuned and within range you should get the tone as long as the right knob is pulled on the navaids panel. Try again with a fresh mission is my other suggestion

Eddie, I suspect, like my brakes comment the other day, it was somewhat "tongue in cheek" Spetz. That sounds good. What is PN? What is Latex values? (genuine question).
-
Oh yeah I was getting confused thinking 8 would go at once. Ignore!
-
821 would be a sort of squid defense wouldnt it? Create a sudden ball of colour and dissapear out the side quick smart?
-
I was thinking too many in a long row might sort of let the missile follow you, like jerry following a line of chocolate chips into Toms mouth. 442, I sense some support for that. Is it the more the better?
-
343 sounds good. Both sides? Does it do the business? What about chuckyegg. What about falling off the elevator. Was it more dissapointing to, 1) miss the jump onto the elevator, or 2) get shot by a SAM after 2.5 hours hiding behind a ridge and just getting the tiniest bit too cocky and having a little peak over the top for 0.5 seconds?
-
Who said it was beautiful? I want some of what your taking. It is sad to see though. They all have a soul!
-
Folowing the white chevrons not the yellow bars?
-
Sounds like you already are using the right runway, but just to be sure, since the way its written in the DIVERT page has led me to the same problem a few times.
-
Going to try 666. Maybe it opens a cheat into a parallel underworld. Bandits at 3-o-clock. Never has coverart lied so convincingly to a 5 year old boy. So dissapointed. Expect RoF, get sprites.

Nah, if noone wants to share their CM secrets we might as well have a my computer was crapper than yours discussion. The Atari was the mother ship. Prior to that it was ZX Spectrum (16k?) and prior to that an ACORN ELECTRON. Chucky Egg!. No computer program has ever been so much fun. New Rule of this thread: If you want to come in, you can drift it wherever you want. As long as you preface it with your favorite 3 Figure CM number!

How About A Christmas Discount for A-10C
bluepilot76 replied to Rodney's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I think we should give them a Christmas present. From now, noone mentions Dynamic Campaign, Upcoming Fighter possibilities, Nevada... In exchange, they give US all of those things for Christmas. Only joking. -
Isnt zooming on the HUD kind of cheating?
bluepilot76 replied to Avatar72's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I keep labels off, for one thing I dont like having blue / red writing all over the sky and ground that ruins immersion. Two, Its completely cheating. Some enemy chopper sneaking up on you should be hard to see. This should encourage you to actually keep your wits about you and look for things that might be there. As it is, you know they are / are not so it takes one of the major things that a pilot should be doing (looking) away from the equation. However, it is acknowledged that things are generally harder to see than they should be. I like how they do it in Rise Of Flight. then enemy aircraft when too small to be seen is given a very small biplane symbol. In black. You could still miss it if you were not looking too hard, but is just enbough to say theres something way out there that I should keep an eye on. Other option, might be to simulate reflections. Just a little glint from the enemy choppers canopy as he crests the hill 10 miles away. -
Hi, the Forum setup seems a bit confusing and mixed up to me..A little bit difficult to navigate around. For example DCS A-10C Warthog and A-10C Tech Support at the same level in the tree. KA-50 is there is well, but not KA-50 Bugs and Problems (is that the same as Tech support?) Why not put A10C tech support at the same level as KA 50 Bugs and Problems which seems to be a sub forum within KA50. Or I would prefer to see KA-50 bugs and problems at the same level as A10C Tech support, and call it, KA-50 Tech Support. Within A10C Tech support there is a million sub menus. WHereas KA 50 only doesnt have any. Now that KA 50 and A10 are compatible with each other maybe the tech support can be combined, it can just be DCS A10C DCS KA50 DCS Tech Support At the Digital Combat Simulator level, it shows all the DCS A10C sub menus above the KA50, the KA50 stuff is off the bottom of the page actually, ther is no font difference so its hard to see that for example A10C Flight Dynamics sub menu is actually part of the A10C forum. And not actually with the same importance as the KA50 forum which is marginalsed right to the bottom. I dunno, maybe you like it like that and maybe it makes sense to everyone else. Sure confuses the hell out of me though! True its not difficult to do that.

Maybe the Balkans scenery is a bit too similar to what we have already. I vote for something a bit sandier
-
Aye that will be why I ran out of flares in about 2 minutes earlier. Luckily FARP was nearby and the blokes on the ground hadnt started there tea break so were able to load up some more pretty quick. Good bunch. 512 is easy to remember because its what my Atari was packing. Quite a punch.

Can anyone reccomend a good countermeasures number for beating the SAMs, that will work in most scenarios? According to a book... UK Army Air Core pilots flying AH64D in Afghanistan just set it to automatic and it sent out complex arrays of decoys. Much better to let it work automatically than try and do it yourself apparently. With SAM incoming we dont have time to change the sequences etc so does everyone just use a standard number that will give you a best chance 90% of the time? WHat is that golden number? I been trying 512, both sides, but still getting hit if not a bit lucky. Hills seem to be the best defence... REPOSTING FROM A THREAD IN BUGS

Its a good idea. Also because if you only have 30 mins whilst the GF is watching Eastenders you can do part of a mission and come back to it later.
