  1. I would be quite interested to just see where all the money they have recieved so far has been going to.
  2. Anyone else getting tired of these threads (I know I know, dont post or read in them etc). But isn't there an "F22 ROXXX" forum somewhere? Perhaps you guys should create one, then you can impress everyone with your inside knowledge of the F22. Perhaps I need more coffee, or just watch the black shark vid again. EDIT: Err, what light source do you use at work? Strip lighting/flourescent tubes? That is plasma, so I think plasma has been mastered, just not in the sci fi sense you guys think of.
  3. Kalman filter.... shudders.... one of the items that caused me many a headache during my post grad research work. GPS (simple version) just records the time it picks up from satelites. From the time differences (I know it has a bizarre method of knowing time obtained from a weird string of digits) calculates distance from satellites, needs 4 signals to triangulate roughly, and thats roughly it. All relying on atomic clocks and synchronising clocks.
  4. More practise with the guns I think DPS, a straight and level target should be easy. Also, that wing tipping scene at the end didnt go quite to plan. Would also be daft to try wing tipping current long distant missiles due to their internal navigation methods. The reason it worked in WW2 is that the V missiles had no navigation, they were aimed at takeoff and that was it.
  5. Or it could be to listen out for armour. Like the probes dropped on the Ho Chi Min trial. Unlikely, I guess due to the noise generated by the airflow over the drone masking any decent sound recording ability.
  6. Also note, it is good against long range sams etc. But thinks like the shilka, no good, you can get lock but will always be too late to launch. The weapon will also give an indication of where the enemy EWR sites are, however the weapon will lock on, you will not be given a launch cue. I beleive this is due to the length of the radar waves from this type of emitter and not being able to fire a weapon to guide on these frequencies. I heard that from this site, so you may have to take that with a pinch of salt, as with most things.
  7. The link should be: http://disarmament2.un.org/UN_REGISTER.NSF/5cb8afbbb6536a298525647d00612b14/742e44f9a437fbee85256c5400578365?OpenDocument Interesting.... good find.
  8. Didn't "they" say it was going to be released on th eMicorosft site as well, I guess this will happen within a week if at all.
  9. Blow up doll, I mean aircrew, anyone seen the films airplane I think. With Lesly Nielsen in them. The autopilots were inflatable aircrew.... thats what you see bailing out. It is the one on the right if you are wondering (only image I could find, God knows who he on the left is) It is not a bug, it appears he is flying the SU33, it is a 2 seater, when he ejects, they all go.
  10. Keep practising and fidn yourself someone who is willing to give you a helping hand. Have been to many servers where no one will respond to you at all, not even saying hello. Just find somewhere friendly, perhaps get on TS and ask for help, you will get there. But when we say ask for help, ensure you know the basics, i.e. TWS, how to startup, weapon launch etc. The pros will (if they feel like it) give you tactics and tips. Happy flying.
  11. Yup, if you lie on an island, you won't get any visitors. Anyway, back on topic. Do we have a date yet for this beta? (2 weeks one anticipates the responce). Fileplanet used to be good (when you could download without queues for free), kind of hate their current subscription idea.
  12. Yes, one imagines it would get the public's adrenaline pumping and get them wanting to use these nice toys to cause havoc. However, not wanting to get pollitical, but the gung-ho idea of going into a war zone causing havoc doesnt sit well with me. I am not a passifist, but people getting thier kicks from blowing stuff up, then going to sunny places and doing the same, with civies etc... I dunno, I have seen too much to find the glorification of combat being turned into an amusment park a little too past the line. Would I like a go in the hardware, yeah of course. Do I want the US army marketing this to kids as "its fun to blow stuff up", not sure. I am probably gonna regret writing this post... but its the way I currently feel.
  13. Arm505s method is fail safe though, and can be adjusted in game. As he said, get closer to the sensor, recenter F10? (cant belive I forgot, it just comes natural in game), then sit back. voila you zoomed out.
  14. I am not saying he isnt, but for us to find out more, I would just like to see (if on the internet) what the source was. Anyway, if the RAF or MOD bought the SU, they arnt going to use it to fly in operations, more likely taken to bits to see its insides. At a push a test pilot may fly it to get a feel of what it can/can't do, and then develop some tactics... maybe.
  15. Too true, I have never jumped on the bandwagon, and I work in network administrations and programming. I quite like XP, I like MS idea of gettings things to work together. I will just get things working and let people on the bandwagon slagging off MS roll on by to a system they think is better. Then wait for them to come back.
  16. Have you got any links/reference/hard facts for this?
  17. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=17524 Same happened last week.
  18. Currently at work at the moment. I have the trim set to a rotary control on my HOTAS. But for those who don't have rotary and other axis controls available, can they use the mouse wheel to control trim? May be a little better than using the keyboard blocky trim. As I said, at work so can't try this, something worth playing with. Although having no centre point may be an issue. I guess you could map middle mouse click to centre trim.... will try later.
  19. Practise practise practise. Not being able to trim is a major disadvantage, again practise this. The main thing, as you assumed, is to keep the piper steady on the target, long enough to release a controlled burst. For the time being forget about "spraying the convoy as you pull up", this won't be very effective, and I find only works in films like Rambo. You will need to "step" the pull up to have controlled bursts on each vehicle. "Spray and pray" will just waste ammo, and give very poor results.
  20. Cant I ask what happened to the "previous" bomber wing pilots? They all seemed to have jumped ship, why is that?
  21. You want well organised and structured layout? Wait until you get in the black shark.
  22. Only one problem Poko, you have a slight typographical error. At the end of the first line, you slipped and pressed 6, I think you need to replace with a 7. :)
  23. Yeah, they are just uploading the demo :)
  24. I am sure I have seen that link before.... It is amazing to think that the shells are as big as most of the bombs we can carry on the aircraft. If only they could add guidance to the shells (Iknow they can on standard artill, but I bet naval bombardment guidance for shells isnt too far off)
  25. Pitch controls your speed, throttle rate of descent. Flight path marker on start of runway, flare - pull up and "glide in" when it feels right. Flight path marker should then travel to end of runway. Lots of tips can be given. Best way though is to practise practise and practise. We cant give you a landing badge so that it becomes easy.
