  1. My A-10 is poor at BVR, kepping low and luring the online pilots closer to WVR and then throwing a sidewinder at them without them knowing, (while giggling like a school girl) then watching them spiral down in their "built for CAP" plane that got killed by the "made for CAS" plane... anyway, getting something within visual range is not a mistake, its a tactic. Anyway, to avoid, you need to make the missile do the most work, while keeping your plane flying. Keep it at 3 or 9 oclock etc, counter measures. Climb or descend, make that missile move around (if it stays fixed in a point on your canopy, it is likely to hit). Practise, practise, practise i'm affraid
  2. Press I to turn radar on. I am a mud mover, my memory is not too good when it comes to fighter ops. When your radar is on, you have to fiddle with the range and angle the radar is looking. If you are lucky, you will get a blip, move the TDC over the blip, lock, wait for authorisation and fire... I am sure some more people with give you more useful info than this.
  3. Only if you get an exact copy of the 512 stick. And then becuase you have two different sized modules (i.e. 2x1GB and 2x 512Mb) it may not revert to dual channel. Try asking at "toms hardware", the are lots of geeks, I mean computer aware people there. You could either cash in the ram on Ebay, or risk getting another stick. 2GB is a lot at the moment (I have same), the extra 512 may have limited increase.
  4. FF, I would check if that extra stick of 512 isnt casuign you problems. Because it isnt paired, you may not be running in dual channel like you think. Download CPUZ to check this out: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/CPU-Z.shtml Also, dont turn off your virtual memory, put a maximum of 2 MB or something low on your primary partition, then a fixed amount on another partition (or better still another HDD).
  5. v1.3 LOTS, Lock On Tank Simulator. Persistant online multiplayer campaign, players command air and ground assets in real time.... time to wake up. Tanks popping smoke and taking defensive action against airborne threats would be nice to see. Makes it a little more interesting for us ground pounders (not that we have been spoilt already with FC and BS).
  6. Sounds like you need to tweak the profile, set up the null zones etc, I have no problems anymore when moving my head towards the monitor to zoom in.
  7. I got the trackIR hat with my trackIr (I don't think you are a loser for not owning a baseball cap - infact I think the opposite). The hat does not have the tape people of attached to it, these were the old style. The new style caps have a perfect sized peak for the vector expansion to clip into (the funny three pronged thing). If you havnt got a baseball cap, I would suggest getting the trackIR one with your order. Saves you trying to find one thats fits good, and it also sort of explains why you have a weird contraption attached to it. I agree though, 6 DOF makes a massive improvement on flight sim (apart from when you try to use the mouse to hit a switch, but your head moves, F9 to the rescue - MS could fix this by moving your mouse relative to the instrument panel, and not the display screen).
  8. Which they could have been doing for a long time due to a hobby called "pilot exchange".
  9. Ok, ok, I will give you those. But I fly the ground pounders, so I very rarely get to fly in formation with an F18 (by rarely I mean never have). Since the 25T doesnt have them, I was limiting my experience to the A-10. The hog has them, they are visible in day time, but I don't think I have ever seen them lit up at night. Again, I am happy for you to prove me wrong, but I can't ever recolect flying in formation in the dark in an A-10 and seeing my online wingmen/lead with lit formation stips.
  10. I wish I had my PC running to test that shamandgg. I don't recall them to be honest, and I guess they must be very dull if present at all.
  11. Do you think this is likely to be common knowledge? Do you think countries will release their doctrines and battle plans on the internet? The CIA/KGB may know a little about their "opositions", and I guess there are sources/guesses on the internet, but I wouldn't be expecting a lot of credible information if I were you. I know of non, sorry.
  12. I think he was asking for those formation lights (the green strip lights). As you said, pilot controlled brightness. Would help a lot in formation flying at night. The strips are visible on the aircraft, but they have no illumination at the moment.
  13. Isn't Ctrl+T trim reset?
  14. Decent and 10 Euros sounds liek a conflict, but I get your point. Some people just get embarassed, some might not like to sound fools shouting out semi military commands in thier own little room. When people are asleep, I tend to turn sounds down, and that means I can no longer speak out "Rifle" or "Multiple ZSUs in column, East of village, 100m south smoke stack, Friendlies 5 KM north near lake, in hot, departing West". That sometimes wakes people up :) (god, I wish my graphics card would hurry up back from Gigabyte). It makes a hell of a difference using comms, but too many people causes problems too, Its a shame its not part of the game (like in Battlefield 2). You could tune in your radios in the game to join different channels etc... would be nice.
  15. ... he is already up at the hatch operating the weapon. He is also facing different angles in the shots, so one assumes he does rotate and is not just static. (Do the machine guns track aircraft in FC? I think so). I doubt his trigger finger is modelled though, neither blockages or reloads... but this doesnt bother me much, maybe in tank killers :)
  16. My ideal online situation, flying over Krasnodar or somewhere with all the fighters lined up like that, and me coming in hot in my hog, finger over the pickle button, Mk20s ready to fly. Ready to get my own back on the pesky fighters not letting me do my job....:P
  17. That's what we need now, ASCOM, Advanced Stinger Crew Operations Model, including realistic eye movement for the operator, relating to correct visual identification of aircraft. On a seperate note, the stinger appears to be able to interogate via IFF. When an aircraft is "interogated", is the pilot made aware that is happening? If not, would it be possible to monitor what is interogating you? I am thinking this is a prewarning that something nasty is looking at you, resulting in not having no warning of enemy launching at you. (not sure that applies to Iglas though).
  18. What is happening with regards the the ATG days wolfy? (not been online for 5 weeks since my PC has failed).
  19. Remote Desktop connection (Or the RDP) protocol can connect to the console, just need to append the -console switch. Use it all the time at work. Remote desktop is part of server 2003/XP, so it is cheap.
  20. Here are the original photos: Any clown with MS paint can make up "interesting" photos. Never take things at face value in this day of age. I am sure someone can edit it so that a black shark (KA50) is airlifting the above white shark and about to drop it on the HH-60G chopper above.
  21. Whats that word I am after..... photoshop? It has been shown (and proven) that the shark leaping out of water is fake (obvious really), becuase the exact shark is present in another picture (pixel for pixel) and ditto with the chopper. The C-130 picture.. well, do you think the camera man would survive?
  22. See what?? :) Nice flying, not seen BlackWidow around before, new guy? Some nice flying there, (apart from the lagging 25T), not you by any chance :) If you ever want another frog pilot to get in close, just give me a shout (when I get my PC up and running again). Good work.
  23. Yeah, some nice shots can be had, not the best, just one I can access while at work: Look closely enough, you can see Brewber waving back, while in a loose wedge formation. 25Ts can fly formation too. (To the 504s, you talk about doing displays etc, why don't the guys who are better at flying (due to the AFM) i.e. the 25 pilots, try formation flying? everyone flys the fast jets, go for something different, I am sure a much more interesting display could be made, especially with some of the quirts the 25Ts FM has). Airtito, is that green cross hair a pad lock or something? Just curious as I have never used it.
  24. Very odd that these guys are creating two threads on the F16 experimentals....
