I agree, Aim-120's should be far more effective at long range than in the dare I say, GAME. If DCS is nerfing the missiles as some loyalty to the Russian jets then this needs to change if this is going to be truly heralded as a combat flight simulator.

Thanks guys but I guess I wasn't very clear. What I'm asking is; Where does the exchange of money for goods take place? Does it happen in the UK or in Canada? I'll give you an example; If I live in Canada and I buy something NOT on amazon but from a UK based online retailer via my credit card. does the sale happen in Canada or the UK? meaning; IN WHICH country does the exchange of currency for goods or services happen? My guess is that the sale takes place in the UK because the online currency needs to reach the seller before the seller commits to creating the order. I don't know international merchant law so that is my best guess.

Hi all, I've been scouring the internet for the answer to this question but no luck so far. My question is; I live in Canada. If I order something online from the UK Where does the "sale" take place? The transaction takes place in cyberspace but it must occur somewhere. Would anyone know the answer?

Not a fan of the F-35 at all. Too pricey, too politically driven and too prone to failure to be reliable enough. Not surprised this thread is so huge lol.

Ok I Pulled The sidewinder trigger and Pre-Ordered Bring on DCS FA-18
Akula replied to charlesnett's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Hey Charles how are your landings? I was playing Falcon 4.0 all the time until I discovered Battlefield 2,3 and 4. when I finally got sick of all the hacking I got back into DCS and my landings were TERRIBLE. Still are actually. The F-16 is sooo easy to land compared to heavier twin engine fighters but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. -
That looks a lot like the Japanese killer hornet.

Bra for me..... Allows me to visualize where the target is faster than Bullseye. For me, when working with BE I need to remember where BE is and it's just another step to attain SA... I choose BRA! :)

Guys, you don't need 32Gb.. It's just a waste of money. As many here have mentioned, when you open task manager and track your memory usage it rarely peaks and even more rarely will it spike to 20Gb or more. Plus, if you're running SSD's the most I would say you need is 24Gb to be future proof. The rest is just bragging rights. ;) I know that Linus Tech tips on YouTube has an excellent explanation regarding this issue so have a look there before forking out the cash for 8 more Gb DDR4 RAM.

I have 24Gb DDR3 and although it did completely freeze up on me last night, I haven't had any huge issues with it yet. Haven't tested it out in Multiplayer yet. ;)

Folks, I loved flying the F-16 in Falcon 4.0. The realism of that sim was second to none back then and I'm sure it still is with BMS. That said DCS I believe is a better platform for the Viper and I would love to see this plane in the NEAR future. Please chime in if you feel the same way. WE WANT THE F-16!!!!

Lol true, I can handle the sarcasm but it just reinforces how badly this sim needs it and how badly the community want it.

Regardless, at least they see in a thread specifically voicing a demand for the jet.

I remember one mission I was on, it was a CAP and I ran into a few Migs. I came out of it with an engine failure at around angels 20. I nosed down to glide and set my trims. As a last ditch effort I tried doing a full shut down and restart of the engine to see if I could coax it back to life and IT WORKED!!!! That experience was incredibly Immersive. I was sweating bullets hoping I'd make it back since I had already invested 2 hours of flight time to the mission. Very fun!!!

I'll take the PDF to Staples and see how much they will charge to print it out and put it in a three ring binder.

I'm nostalgic for WW2 as it was the last *noble* war we have ever fought. I'll take off from Normandy and fly to the Cliffs of Dover

I still have my Falcon 4.0 CD and manual. It came in a three ring binder and was a priceless tool for learning how to fly. As I'd fly I'd read the manual. The F-16 has a full AP system so I would do CAPs and read along the way. LOVED IT!!!!!

Hey Kontiuka, I live in Ottawa. Let's fly!!!!

A question for Wags and or ED about the DCS: F/A-18C!

HERE HERE!!! WE WANT THE F-16!!!! :pilotfly: -
Pulled the trigger as soon as it was available. I don't mind waiting :)

I'm kinda in the same dilemma. My question is; assuming you have it set to FEED where the external tanks are used before the internal tanks, why don't both counters below the gauge lower as the external wing tanks are depleted? Makes sense to me or maybe I'm backwards on this.

Hello all, Just wondering if anyone can post a step by step UP TO DATE skins tutorial for the jets. Everything I'm googling is from 2013 and older and even then it's dead links or deleted posts. Cheers ;)

Thank you all for the replies, WD, I read your post and it is helpful *for someone with 2 screens*... therein lies the challenge. With 2 screens its easy but a tutorial should be made and written up based on the assuption that the reader is a complete novice and has a basic setup (i.e. basic flight stick nothing fancy, one monitor and a rig that can handle the game). Admitteldly I don't have a lot of patience but like many I do maintain interest when the learning curve is constantly on the rise and progress is made. Back in the day, I was well qualified on Falcon 4.0 I had bought the original game which came with a huge binder explaining everything from the start up procedure to advance combat maneuvers and refuelling. The manual approached the reader on the assumption that he/she knows nothing about flying and walks the novice through every step of the sim referring to keyboard commands. Eventually I got a flight stick and mapped the KB commands to it making the trnsition much less complicated and frustrating. This is very difficult to do in FC3. KB commands for every single task can only be obtained through the crappy video tutorial from way back in 2005. Because you constantly have to go back and forth switching from the tutorial to a mission to try it all out you can see how discouraging it is for the novice. This is why I'm saying there should be a strong reference to procedures all tied to keyboard commands for the sole purpose of training raw pilots. It would be great to have the start up procedure that goes something like this: F-15 startup: Insert key in ignition--- Shift K Turn key to ACC---- Ctrl C Turn Key to begin ignition sequence--- Shift T etc etc Of course that's not the way it goes, just giving an example but like this there is no sifting through paragraphs of info just to find out the important stuff, just straight and simple. Going back to what WD said, it's fun for me to learn the nitty gritty first and then learn how to do it all properly. At least this gets me learning all the procedures quicker than watching countless vids and sifting through a labrynth of online tutorials. I remember a few years ago, someone was offering a fully printed version of the manual in a binder. Man I wish I bought it. Would have really helped. I guess a local print shop would be the next best thing. I haven't seen the link provided in the previous post (at work and behind a firewall) but I'll check it out when I get home. Cheers all :)

Hey guys, I've been out of flaming cliffs for quite some time and every time I try to get back in I'm discouraged by the time it takes to learn the entire setup process not to mention having to sift through the labrynth of very useful posts made by the flight sim gurus we have here. coming from a noobs perspective if I want to know how to do something like take off, do a loop and land just for circuit training everyone is more that helpful to point me in the right direction but that direction usually leads to more questions as most of the info says things like; "set your trim to this" or "you'll want to engage ICS". But no one explains how. Now admittedly I'm looking for shortcuts but really who isn't? Sitting through training vid after training vid is not just tedious but confusing as you have to retain all that info. I'm now 44 and can't do that as well as I used to lol. im hoping that everyone would be open to a section that explains how to do everything from the basics to the intermediate level explaining not just what to do but HOW to do it via simple key board commands as opposed to those who say how they have their HOTAS set up and such. I have an old X-52 but for beginner training I very much prefer to learn all the keyboard commands first so that when the time comes and as I get better I can eventually assign the commands I I want to the X-52 as opposed to being thrown the the wolves having to learn it all from seasoned pilots who mean well but tend to throw a lot of info at the novice flyer. I'm wondering if someone would like to collaborate with me to help set up such a section.

Are we talking about the same Mustang that used to be in the I.C.E. Squadron???? That old bag of bones? ;)
