Anyone any idea how to remove the front panel of a Reverb G1? I see a lot of videos and pictures with the front removed, but non of them show how to actually achieve this. ( @BIGNEWY; could you please move this thread to the VR section? I noticed I accidentally didn't post it in the right place)

Not at my pc now to be able to test, but doesn't this change the default view in DCS entirely (all modules), or would this be limited to the F4?
-
Hmm interesting, I'll read into this Thanks!

I think the cable of my good old trusty Reverb G1 is busted Since yesterday I started to have troubles. It started with a few pixel glitches, then stripes, then lenses started to go black (sometimes only the left eye, then both). When I fiddle with the cable at the head band, it results in the lens screens coming back on, but when I let go and look around, the glitches and black screens eventually come back. I suspect a cable flaw somewhere here: As this seems to be the spot reacting the most to the glitches I see in the lenses. So; 1. Does anyone recognize this issue? 2. Can the cable between the headset and the cable connector be replaced? And if so, does anyone perhaps know where I can get a replacement? Obviously my Reverb (and my pc) is quite old now, so I'm really hoping for a cheap repair

Thanks mate Can you maybe also confirm that this (WMR stops working) is indeed also an issue for Win10 users?
-
I'm a bit shocked, as I thought this was only an issue with Win11 WMR is still working on my old Win10 machine. So, in order to keep my Reverb alive in DCS, I should find a way to stop Win from updating right now? Did I understand that correctly? (if so, does anyone perhaps have a link to an explanation on how to safely do this? I'm a bit of a layman in this area)

That's indeed what I've always been doing in the Tomcat. Now that I picked up the F-4, I thought I'd ask around if there's an easy and more permanent method.

Ah ok, that explains it. I suppose this quick guide post needs to be updated then :

I've been watching several tutorials and doing some reading, but I can't figure out why my Shrikes plummet to the ground as soon as I launch them. I created a very simple mission, starting airborne at 15.000ft about 20nm from an SA-8 and loaded 4 Shrikes with the MK 49 mod 1 seeker. When in the mission, I set: WPN REL to DIRECT WPN SEL to ARM select the correct stations master arm ON mode to AG Soon I hear the missle beeping. When within 8nm I still hear a steady tone, press the bomb release button and my Shrike just instantly goes for the ground (nowhere near the SA-8). I know the SA-8 is still emitting, because it launches at me. Obviously I'm doing something wrong here, but what? (track file and mission added) F4 Shrike practice.miz Shrike directly heading for ground.trk

Ok tnx mate I'll look into it

I purchased this module yesterday and in the process of immersing myself. So far I'm amazed on all the little details. Anyways, to the point: Sorry if asked before (did a quick forum search without desired results) Is there a way to set the default F1 cockpit view a bit further backwards and save it in that position? (without influencing default view positions of other DCS modules) I'm playing in VR and when I recenter my view, it is too far forward (too close to the instument panel). I'm pretty much sitting on the stick... ouchy! I only have this issue in the Heatblur modules I own (F-4 and F-14)

I think @dcn was referring to the "F" in JF-17F

Ok, my bad.. People often tell me I'm too fast in my reactions.. I suppose this is a good example (I probably stopped the video before that message showed up)

I hate to be pessimistic (and I realize that some of my recent posts might be), but in my opinion this is indeed misleading marketing. I know we're talking about a small detail here, newcomers might not even notice and all the veterans here know how to look past these kind of "yet to be added" features. But, details eventually add up and might give newcomers a false impression. Again, in my opinion, showing features that are simply not there in the game, are ok for a teaser video on what's to come, but this is literally called a "release video" At least then put some sort of a disclaimer in the text, that the video has been "enhanced" for marketing purposes. (edit: I completely missed the disclaimer at the end of the video) Sorry for perhaps being a bit nitpicky here. I still love DCS

I understand your point of view, and I'm sure you also understand mine My post wasn't that negative by the way. Yes, there was some frustration in my post, but it's just passion speaking.

Sorry BN, but none of the feedback given in this thread is "new". If any of this feedback ís indeed new for ED, that means ED hasn't been listening/reading well enough. Most of the feedback here has been asked/wished for many times in many different threads and sub-forums. That's why I used the term "backfire". But to end on a positive note, I'm happy that now our feedback is noticed

Sorry @BIGNEWY, but ED should have known this "give the user files some love" news, was going to backfire Here's another feature the community has been kindly asking for ever since the user files were initiated: "Allow the content creators to receive notifications, when someone replies to their user file"

Seeing you have only 4 posts on this forum (welcome ): Have you ever considered being more active here on this forum? There's a sub-forum for each module and thousands of active forum members willing to help you for free. Paying someone via Discord to "train" you with DCS, sounds like an awful plan to me. There's more than enough YouTube tutorial video's out there for all modules, and the people on this forum will eagerly help direct you to these videos. There's also many very good step by step pdf guides, if you're more into reading than watching. After that you'll be proficient enough to join a virtual squadron and do a further deep dive there for free with likeminded enthusiasts. Not saying you're being ripped off, but you definitely don't need someone to teach you the basics (and more) of DCS modules in one on one sessions, especially if that person is asking money for it.

Let's face it, we're all here with hope that Ugra will notice and pick up our own personal wishes That's what makes these kind of speculation threads so much fun
