That worked, thanks!

Is there a way to remove the track information from a mission file that used to be a .trk file? Right now I've got a cool mission but it's 17MB in size when it only should be no more than 50KB.
-
Aww, that stinks. I was rather hoping you had managed to get them to lock and fire as an infrared missile, hence my questions.
-
Does it actually track anything? Or did you just change the model and name of an existing weapon that works? Or did you name the AI "Ebs"? Could we get a track?
-
Which is opposite of what ED has said, the guys that did DCS Black Shark and worked directly with Kamov. You'll also notice Janes is still way off base with regards to the designation of the Vikhr missile. I fail to see how the procurement process of an attack helicopter can slow down your inclusion into NATO. In any event, the Ka-50-2 was a proposal to Turkey that lost to the A129; there were never any prototypes nor was anything actually sold. Only difference in perception is the reliability of sources and redefining words like "sold". Step 1: Troll. Step 2: Tell everyone they can't respond to you. That CLSID is for the single-missile rail LAU-117, with the practice TGM-65D. I would suggest one of the following instead: 444BA8AE-82A7-4345-842E-76154EFCCA47 -- AGM-65D without attached pylons 444BA8AE-82A7-4345-842E-76154EFCCA46 -- AGM-65D with LAU-117 pylon 69DC8AE7-8F77-427B-B8AA-B19D3F478B65 -- AGM-65K without attachment pylon 69DC8AE7-8F77-427B-B8AA-B19D3F478B66 -- AGM-65K with LAU-117 pylon DAC53A2F-79CA-42FF-A77A-F5649B601308 -- this is the actual 3xAGM-65D 907D835F-E650-4154-BAFD-C656882555C0 -- 3xAGM-65K on LAU-88 There's also AGM-65H and AGM-65E, though I don't know if the AGM-65E works at all.

If by "realistic" you mean "they had plans at one point to do it", then yes. If by "realistic" you mean "they actually can carry them", then no. No Ka-50 was ever tested with either the Igla or R-73, and they lack the software to utilize them.

And if you have the Russian version, what language is it in? My point is that if the Russian version of DCS has the JTAC audio in Russian, you could use that Russian audio, rip it from their version of the game, and use it in the mod to give dialog to a Red Coalition JTAC.
-
Does the JTAC for the Russian version of the game speak Russian, or is still the same dialog files? If it's localized, you could use that for a quick and dirty Red Coalition JTAC capability.
-
I imagine you are running into the same problem other people had when they tried to add the R-73 to the aircraft. I've found that the AI can generally fire weapons the player can't. Try loading an AI Ka-50 with Mavericks; I'll bet you they will fire. This would probably require a custom model for the wing-mounted Igla pods, though the Shturm launcher may do as placeholders. Does anyone have good pictures of them? I've kinda just assumed they were in pairs, but I can't say I've ever seen any helicopter actually armed with them.
-
I had always assumed the grid folded in the first place.
-
If you're trying to tell everyone to just search the forums for an answer, why bring up the fact that you've read the FC2 and FC3 manuals? If that's not what you are trying to say, then you are being incredibly obtuse.
-
And what have you discovered with that use? Anything remotely related to the thread topic?

Адмирал флота Советского Союза Кузнецов
Xeno426 replied to TOMCATZ's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
There seem to be some missing textures in the CVN-77 download. Parts of the F-18's on deck have the orange "missing texture" placeholder, along with a small part of the rear of the CVN-77 itself. Here's some pictoral evidence. After a quick glance through the model file, I noticed that it references a texture file called "fuellung.bmp", but I could not find this in the DCS World directory anywhere. This may be the source of at least one missing textures. On a final note, the parking positions for aircraft should be shifted, as they tend to park into the static aircraft on deck. -
Depends on the time of year. 6:30 is perfect time to use IR if it's Winter.

High Resolution Road texture mod for DCS A-10C
Xeno426 replied to Mustang's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I've mirrored the mod on my MediaFire account, and modified it to be ModMan compatible. You can download it here. -
I've not used JTAC in A-10C before, so I don't know what you mean by "sparkle". If JTAC uses IR pointers, can you even seem them in the Ka-50?
-
But don't units need to have EPLRS to be JTAC?

High Resolution Road texture mod for DCS A-10C
Xeno426 replied to Mustang's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm quite capable of updating mods myself, so long as I actually have them. -
Yep, it's on Lock-On Files. There's a few minor issues still. The textures on the pilot look really bad (totally flat orange) and the HUD is a solid green. The ladder and chocks are also a solid color—perhaps in the update they could get skinned so that a better texture could be made? I also noticed that after it lands and has been parked, the IRST still looks around. Anyone else had this happen to them? Otherwise it's a great improvement over the original model. I just wish there were more custom skins for it.

How can you find the material names for other aircraft so that description.lua files can be created for the liveries? I'm trying to use some cool FC2 aircraft skins in DCS World without replacing old ones (like the F-4 and F-14), but the livery files for those aircraft in DCS World are completely empty (including the description.lua file).
-
While you're updating, could you add the textures used for aircraft numbers and flags to the list of materials that can be edited by the liveries description.lua file? It'd be nice to be able to change to different color letters in the event that a skin would otherwise make them hard to see.

Combatace, would it be possible to have the turbines spin up when the engines are turned on? I know this happens with the F-15C, Su-25T and A-10C models (not sure about A-10A, haven't looked), so I know it's possible. It also looks cool. :)

The one closest to completion is beczl's MiG-21Bis, and last I heard it was set for Q1, 2013.
-
Your mod works fine in the latest version of DCS World 1.2.2, with the aforementioned change (placing ao-2_5rt.tga.dds and ptab-25-paint.bmp.dds into the TempTextures dir).

Has anyone had issues using this model in multiplayer?
