  1. I recall someone saying that take offs with afterburner 'depends on who's watching' lol On a tangent are you sure you're trimming enough for take off? I find it to be very nose happy without enough trim which causes it to drop off the end of the boat.
  2. This should help...
  3. Fear not, Hollywood is aware of the problem and I'm not totally sure but I *think* he's patched it already. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3862426&postcount=2017
  4. Using Vaicom by chance? there was a bug with a recent update of that wiping out controls and doing what you describe.
  5. With folk like you guys making the f-14 and developing the ffb for it it certainly doesn't hurt the chance. With all the sticks flying around, the availability of ffb wheels and the patents expiring it's about time someone took a leap to develop an ffb stick base
  6. Some of the functions of the stick are interesting like the eddy current damper I mentioned before or the lateral stops where at High Q the stick is limited to a half throw in roll, could that perhaps be simulated to an extent? Never going to stop the stick moving but a noticeable 'stop' doesn't seem far fetched. Albeit basic there's some interesting features there. I'm curious when they say 'Feedback' to what extent are the referring? You'll have to flutter your eyelashes at Victory and see if he'll grab your stick to let you know what feels right :joystick:
  7. Was mooching around the files and found this. Line 15 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Entry\Config.lua I'd assume this is a mistake since you guys have been fiddling with the suspension lately
  8. interesting stuff here on the F-14 stick assembly. I like the idea of the damper that'll stop me breaking the aircraft with over stressing :D https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=J-8cAgAAQBAJ&pg=SA1-PA99&lpg=SA1-PA99&dq=f-14+tomcat+stick+artificial+feel&source=bl&ots=7XQ8UEjXaL&sig=ACfU3U3SrzOAe4WHB3_gKcNxzrhFWlawKw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjY9dKkgaThAhUBRBUIHbuDAxAQ6AEwBnoECAcQAQ#v=onepage&q=f-14%20tomcat%20stick%20artificial%20feel&f=false
  9. Still got the buffeting here just not nearly as strong. Noticed the recent update has a lot softer roll axis, it's difficult to feel the differences in airspeed because the change in pressure is so very slight even turned up to 100.
  10. Just to add that features like this are brilliant for people who may be hard of hearing, deaf or just speak a different language. Some lovely teanwork can result from the standardised framework the comm rose offers
  11. Highway to the danger zone eat your heart out! According to this chap in the video around the 2:00 mark it sounds like the NWS should still be active in some part whilst kneeling. Curious now as to the reasoning why we lose all NWS instead?
  12. *maybe* if you unbind all the axis related to the ffb2 in your RIO controls, or reduce the feedback effects to zero. Either that or install a switch onto the IR sensor that detects your hand, then you can toggle the ffb on or off. OR You could just unplug it from the mains :P
  13. Thought it was because of something I did that made it feel a bit different, miss the violence
  14. look at the lights on the probe, they'll turn off when you go out too far. Also check your horizontal alignment, you may find you're flying a formation more off to the side than you might think. Video always helps way more :)
  15. Sounds low the flying differences folk are feeling are more related to the performance improvements and higher framerate, which can make the plane feel different. However the crashes are unbearable at the moment as I can't engage enemy fighters at all, 4ctds in a row, hope theres a hotfix soon.
  16. CTD in single player for me whilst using the Dynamic Campaign engine, no logs and another in a multiplayer coop server. Was turning on to a couple of MiG-29s in DCE and firing my second phoenix in multiplayer.
  17. I listen for the sound of the engines going into afterburner and I find it's balanced quite nicely for around my X52's detent, however with the way they're made it's easy to see how another could perhaps not line up as well. Some other suggestions that may help mitigate the issue somewhat. Throttle curves, you can effectively tune the positionyour afterburner kicks in to somewhere around the detent that's better for you. To be more severe pop open the throttle on your X-52, if you haven't done this before don't be shy, look up some pictures about the throttle detent and you'll see it's incredibly simple to access and then make some bodges and tweaks to change the feel. This and a combination of adjusting the tension may help provide the feedback you require. I realise it ain't quite a button but I hope it helps for now.
  18. Now my eyeball has stopped twitching. Thank you. :pilotfly:
  19. Wings into Bomb mode or at least manually aft so the CADC won't activate the flaps n slats. The instability you feel is those kicking in. Also sweeping the wings dips the tail somewhat, taking the rudders further away from the propwash and vortices generated by the tanker.
  20. Had an unwilling HUD off landing after being hit with a missile, probably one of my better traps  Great plane, great module.
  21. It sounds like you have windows speech recognition open as well as Vaicom/Voiceattack If you have the above window or the microphone icon in the taskbar close them, you don't need the WSR program to use Voice Attack. The only time this window should open is when you are training the keywords in Vaicom, it opens then so that it can read the words in the training list, listen to you say them and then store the way you say them in your speech profile. that speech profile is then used and shared by programs like Voice Attack or Windows speech recognition.
  22. Alt + Enter to toggle fullscreen. Sometimes solves issues like this.
  23. Clip is faulty, all three should light up, so you should contact the seller. As for the other two turning off and on again that sounds like it *could* be USB power saving, can give problems with many usb devices, there's options in both the power settings and device manager for your USB hubs. You would find where the device is plugged in and uncheck "turn off this device to save power" As for the camera being "flipped" I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you fired up DCS with your headtracking and a dodgy clip it's going to make you look around in weird and bizarre ways. Get that clip sorted first, it might just be a loose connection you can fix yourself. At any rate I wouldn't say it's "simpler" to build your own IMU if you're buying a headtracker off e-bay in the first place ;) Whichever device you purchase the principle behind the software & curves is basically the same. Both have their benefits and drawbacks, I found IMU headtracking to less accurate, more laggy and drifty no matter how much calibration.
  24. I've plugged in, filled up and flown off and jester will still be going through his lines over and over. Have to disable him entirely, mute doesn't work, then reenable him after his time out
