  1. Although there was already a thread called "post you setup" in the home cockpits section, that's a good idea to revive it. Here's my humble desk pit @ Agrasyuk ::megalol: You made my day !! Thanks a lot !
  2. Your CDU looks great ! Another inspiring thread for beginners like me. Congratulations and thanks for sharing
  3. Here's an A-10C seen with a Russian skin. This sreenshot was taken during a training flight of the 355th VFS, along with a Ka-50. The goal was to land in low visibility conditions on an airfield without ILS nor TACAN (just NDB for the Ka-50). I don't know where this skin originates from but I like it
  4. :D I love cats and those parallels look great ! In some different style but still with cats
  5. After Baghram's crash early this week it seems that what is often called a series law continues... That's really sad. I've just read about this info on Yahoo.fr few minutes ago (http://fr.news.yahoo.com/avion-ravitailleur-américain-sécrase-au-kirghizistan-144359338.html). In the article it is said that a fire burst out onboard while the plane was in flight and that it crashed shortly after. The plane took off from Manas Air Base and a ministry responsible (no specification on which ministry) said that the crew was composed of between two and five members. RIP to those airmen.
  6. :shocking: RIP to those unlucky crew members
  7. :D Thanks for the compliment ! I probably will when I decide to go further. I don't know when this happens but for the time being, I don't have very much time and I prefer flying with my squadron mates allthough I really enjoyed building my panels and search infos to this goal. I often hear/read : build or fly... ;)
  8. Thank you Metalnwood for the links. I know that this place is THE place for those who want to start building panels or an entire pit. I've been following this board since I joined this forum (and even before :smilewink:) and I come nearly every day if not each days :music_whistling:. I tried myself at panel building last year (AHCP and Electrical power panel, without backlighting) and they work fine (interfaced with a GPWIZ 40) @ Franck : Really nice work, as always. Please, keep on posting
  9. Copy that ! I can imagine the amount of time spent for searching the best way to achieve what you're on (I spent some time too, but not as much as you probably did). So I'll be hanging on the wing and be looking forward for your nice panels if they become available for humble customers like me. Thank you for your reply. Cheers from France where the weather is ugly at that time (and they speak of global warming ?? 4°C last saturday !) ;)
  10. Hi Frank, what you're doing is really mind blowing ! So much, so fast (okay, keeping in mind that you've planed this for quite a long time but anyway...). What tools are you using (CNC, laser engraving) ? If so, do you own them personnaly ? Beside this, for such amount of work you've been doing, your room looks really clean ! And, for me, I don't mind if the switches you're using are not exactly like the real ones. The result looks so profesionnal and that's all that matters. Congratulations ! You are already part of the best pitbuilders we can meet here ! Cheers !
  11. You could not have said it better !! :) http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/asteroids/news/asteroid20130215.html
  12. Amazing videos of that event today. Thanks for posting Let's keep our fingers crossed... Edit : an interesting thread about 2012 DA14 : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86030&highlight=meteor+impact
  13. Hi everyone, @ Scruffy : Yes, I confirm that it definitely works and this is the trick for double throw switches. See my post in Outlaw's thread "My first panel" (post #10) @ TigersharkBAS : Your video inspired me very much and made me want to try myself at panel building one year ago and use the GP WIZ40. Thank you very much !! But when it came to configure the .lua file I was also a bit confused since it had changed with respect to what is depicted in your video. Fortunately, a post by Krebs20 (12-19-2011, #218.... sorry, can't give a link but I had made a screen capture of his post) put me on the track ! ;) Anyway, this what I have in my .lua file for the inverter switch and it works nicely !
  14. Hi Folks, sad news here : http://news.msn.com/us/body-of-f-16-pilot-recovered-after-adriatic-sea-crash My deepest thoughts to his family and relatives
  15. Excellent ! I wish I had a gun just like the A-10 !! :smilewink:
  16. Double sided adhesive tape should do the job
  17. @ Marcos : Thanks for this festival of pictures you're providing us with regularly, especially the Rafale ones @ TFlash : Thanks a lot for sharing this really thrilling story about the Falkland's war. Enjoyed it Best wishes to everyone for the new year Laurius
  18. Or refuel.... and launch ?? :music_whistling: @ Vanveken : Thanks for the info ! (once again)
  19. That's weird, but why not ? In the mean time, this must not be easy to rearm such pylons. Is it ??
  20. @ Vanveken : Thank you so much for the really nice photos you're providing us with every day !! I just wanted to share this video I came across with today. Hope you enjoy it Cheers
  21. Hi there, I wasn't aware of that such an event could exist and I'm really amazed that real ammo could be fired on a shooting range so close from a public audience. Hey you Swiss pilots, you know your job for sure! And needless to say, everything about your playground also  Nice vid and thanks for sharing. Unfortunatly and although I'm close to your conutry, I won't be able to attend next week, but take note for 2013 ! Great demo !! Cheers (or cheese )
  22. Really interesting discussion going on here. Thanks to all of you. I like very much how NTSB works, especially as can be seen on the TV serie "MayDay". Regarding AF 447 report issued by our NTSB equivalent here in France (BEA), it's clear that the conclusions didn't pleased everyone, in particular the crew members' families. Indeed crew apparently misunderstood or misinterpreted the real situation they were in because of several inconsistant warnings from the plane, leading the a fatal chain reaction of actions. Drunk pilots seem also not so rare : http://www.news.com.au/national/qantas-investigating-pilot-allegedly-drunk-on-flight-bound-for-brisbane/story-fndo4ckr-1226443680437 Anyway, regarding the topic of this thread, here are some updated news from a local newspaper and a french TV chanel (after Google translation...). Apparently, pilot sacrificed himself to avoid crash on houses. May he rest in peace and be honored as he deserves http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=fr&langpair=fr%7Cen&u=http://www.lepays.fr/actualite/2012/10/04/un-pilote-de-mirage-2000-5-se-sacrifie-pour-eviter-de-tomber-sur-le-village http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=fr&langpair=fr%7Cen&u=http://franche-comte.france3.fr/2012/10/03/crash-de-froideconche-le-mirage-2000-5-appartenait-l-escadron-cigogne-99717.html
  23. Thank you for your reply Pyroflash, but aside from what you say and as it is an info from the AFP (an official information organism here in France), I would have thought this info would have been available in different languages, at least in english just for sharing with others who are from abroad. But no way. I just don't get it and I'm afraid we won't hear from this event even here in France. The investigation will give its report, and we, the basic people, won't be informed about what caused this tragic accident. That's a real pitty for all the airwarfare enthousiats. Don't even mentioning all we don't even know about and that can be found on youtube after a certain amount of time after the event occured. That said, it probably and surely needs some time before releasing infos about a given incident, even for NTSB, although the info can be biased somehow as you said. Remember flight AF 447... Definitive conclusions will never satisfy everyone
  24. Well, I don't know where this post should go... Either here or in the Military and Aviation News Thread v2.0. Please forgive me... A French Mirage 2000-5 crashed today nearby Luxeuil-Les-Bains Air force Base(AFB 116) in France (Haute-Saône department), shortly after 10:00 AM this day in a wooden area. It involved a Taïwanese pilot at the commands of a French AF Mirage 2000-5 who lost his life. The victim was 37 years old and was an experimented pilot with over 1300 hours of flight on that plane, which the Taïwanese Air Force is equiped with, with at least 60 units. He has been for two years in France within a cooperation agreement between both countries, in order to share their operational experiences. Accident is still under investigation as reported in the AFP notice. Sorry, I can't provide you with a link in english written language, but only with the french one from Yahoo (in french) : http://fr.news.yahoo.com/avion-chasse-sécrase-haute-saône-pilote-tué-135504052.html PS : I must say that I'm completetly amazed that doing a search for this event on the AFP website (http://www.afp.com/) gives nothing at all (even in french) !! I don't often do this and probably will never do again since their website looks like cr:cry:p! Shame on them !!
