  1. There's the F-14 first, from a sure source, so the Corsair is a loooong way to go ...
  2. Hi everyone, I'd like to find some talented 2D tweakers to ask them if they could improve Mi-8 rotors blurred textures. Originally, before the Mi-8 was a full fledged module ( still AI ), it has great main rotor textures : https://images.g2a.com/m/1024x768/1x1x0/thumbnail/d/c/e699c71679f7_dcs_mi-8_mtv2_magnificent_eight_4_.jpg Now, for some reasons, they decided to " upgrade " them, and it has this weird black part, which is a bit awkward IMHO : http://www.simhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/DCS-Mi-8MTV2-Magnificent-Eight-screenshot-001.jpg Cheers
  3. Hi Polychop, Do you think you'll ever fix these in the next patches ? Cheers
  4. Hi there, One of the most terrible tricky little thing in DCS is the interaction with teh Track IR... it's awesome, as long as it works... If you launch DCS, join a server, set everything up and you realize you forgot to launch Track IR soft first, or you make long flights and you let the cap with the reflector on it too long away from the IR cam, it just disconnect and nothing to do to reload the plugin, you have to quit DCS and re run it, taking care of staying well in front of the cam ( two green lights at DCS launch ) That should be nothing in terms of work for next update but would be a very handy feature ... Hints hints ;-) Thanks
  5. Speculation is useless but is human ... Try be patient, you won't be disappointed with what's coming, you warriors :megalol:
  6. Oh god yeah that was it ... Thanks ;-)
  7. Hi, That sounds unbelievable but for a month or so I can't start the Gazelle anymore. Both in manual nor auto start ( cheat ). When I flip teh 3-Way switch in the starter position, nothing happen and the starter light doesn't illuminate. Yes the rotor brake is fully up and the Turb' is primed 20-25 sec. Tried to uninstall and re-install the module, no joy either ... Any directions ? Thanks !
  8. Nice ! First DCS PFM level Missile ;-)
  9. True, the Su-33 got so low interest currently both on and offline, due to this arcaddy SFM ... after being used to hardcore piloting of the -27 and others, flying this is like getting back to LOMAC and it hurts a lot.. Even without the carrier simulation, having and " improved " Su-27 with canards, greater payload, in-flight refuel ability ( a real pain the original -27 doesn't have boom nor ext. fuel tanks ... ) Really hope it will come soon
  10. Hi, for a little time now, I can't start the Gazelle anymore. Switching the three way pos up doesn't do anything. I use same procedure as before, and even autostart doesn't work. Any ideas ? Thanks !
  11. Ok, thanks for the ( sad ) info dude !
  12. Hi dudes, I'm a huge fan of this bird, and just for fun I'd like to know if there is some bare ultra glossy metal liveries, only with Red Stars, that is not realistic but is a pure fictionnal goodies ! If not, how can I do it, is there a blank metal template ? Thanks ! Hueyman
  13. Well, according to the latest changelog, this has been finally addressed ;-)
  14. Absolutely, although all arguments can be received, the single, too simplistic fact that the more engine you have, the more complex it is, is simply false. I love the B-17, above everything down this earth ( well. there's a Huey in the same area ;-) ) But it's no more than an airplane. Two wings, a fuselage, tailplane, powerplant(SSSS), and that's all. Since the code is done for a single R-1820, then it won't be much longer to add three more, there isn't even true correlation between engines... Other systems may require time to develop, but once again no more than the coming P-47, which all have dedicated avionics, engineering sights etc, that takes time to researches solid info on. I think the longtest part would be an accurate 3D model and fine quality textures for the whole ship. That is a big job. Let's the B-17 lovers hope... :pilotfly:
  15. Wow, nice to meet you Puma ;-) I watched all the three movies yesterday and became very nostalgic of the good old IL-2 days... we have to be honest, nothing yet came even close of that game, with all his planes, theaters and environments... and more than decent flight models... Not surprised to see always a very active community of modders and simmers on that one ! And thanks for your hard work, really nice videos you did here !
  16. Still having huge whishes and hope that a DCS B-17 ( not a FC-3 or poor mod, but a genuine DCS like the current Warbirds we have ) will see the light some day It can be in a year or in 5 I don't care, but it has to come at the right time, when the appropriate environment will already be there, or it'll be misplaced, probably the most misplaced module ever created... Watching this makes me happy, can't stop wishing having that in DCS... one day ! [ame] [/ame]
  17. All variants got the very same rotorhead, since the first series airframes came out of Marignane. Only the main blades were swapped with newer and more efficient AS555 Fennec blades ( the DCS one got those blades ) I have this rotorhead in one of our classroom for technical study, and it is really well done on Polychop's Gazelle.. except a few parts with incorrect size that give that false impression of weakness dude to too long and thin parts.
  18. After the initial " Weapon update ", I would like the dynamic components like the main rotor and tail rotor got some love. Some oddities in their geometries, too tall and long rotorhead and so linkages and wrong animation of the swashplate. For the Fenestron, I noticed a flat button cap ( hub ) instead of a curved one, un-twisted blades and simple lack of rudder pitch animation. Well, I already hear people categorizing me as a pesty nitpicker, but don't forget DCS is the most hardcore and non-compromise combat sim ever made, and to keep it's very high standard, we have to be demanding, especially when the product is still in development. Cheers, Hueyman
  19. Gosh, we need a heavy CAS prop driven A/C, such the Skyraider, and a good theater... intimely convinced we'll see 'Nam coming up one day !
  20. +1 for the shorter Bell UH-1B with gunship ordinances, grenade launchers, bigger rockets pods etc... Plus very similar in term of flight modeling and systems !
  21. Of course it's status RELEASED, meaning they are don't focusing a lot of energy anymore on it, as main bugs and required fixes were made. Not looking for a perfect module, but such things would be more than welcome to be fixed at some point.
  22. Yep nice find !! But since rotor flapping isn't simulated ...
  23. Most of 'em didn't had one back in the 'Nam days, but as this version is not the very early 60's one, it should be equipped with such ( even though I admit it's not essential ... )
  24. Hi guys, Do you think ( and could BST confirm ) the current UH-1 version is the definitive one ? I've once heard of a major upgrade of this already 3 years old product, called UH-1H V2, what about this ? Some major flaws are still present, like the total lack of engine fatigue life and power management. Other less important features, like the rotor-brake, too high skids ( not the low skid version nor high skid, a mix between ) as well as proper integration of troop transport ( also a work from ED ), to have 3D troops and animations of boarding/unboarding, fast roping etc. Would like to know if their first module was going to have some love before next ones are started.
  25. While the G is certainly better fitted for the time period, and better equipped, I found the F more sexy without that chin turret, but obviously that's a personally choice and so not really defendable ;-) But having always the latest and most upgraded version of each warbird isn't obviously a good thing, knowing the weakness of each plane and how to turn them into advantages is also a big part of the fun !
