I ordered some DOW Corning MOLYKOTE EM-30L Synthetic Plastic Grease. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

That is old information. SLI has bee working in windowed mode for quite some time now.

Ok to put this to rest, I did some tests. I took my setup out of surround mode and used 1 30" at 2560x1600, with all in game setting at max with 4x AA. 1x 480 (no sli) produced 52 FPS in the cockpit of the A-10C on the first replay before taken off pause (Beta 3). The 480 was at 100% max GPU useage. I then turned on SLI with 2x 480's. The same exact view went from 52 fps to 87 FPS with both GPU's around 90-95%. That's a pretty nice 68% FPS boost. I could instantly tell the SLI was working properly because the 2x 480's spooled up to 100% fan and if you know anything about 480's it sounds like a 747 is landing. ;) I could do benchmarking just by sound lol. Theres a caveat though. While playing around with the SLI settings in nVidiaInspector there was a particular combo of settings that virtually broke SLI in both DCS titles. The SLI FPS dropped down to 7! I will hunt down this bug through some testing and report back. In the meantime, it's good to know that with the proper settings SLI in DCS titles works great.

If people aren't seeing frame rate increases at resolutions like 1920x1200 in SLI, that's just because they are CPU limited and not GPU limited. That does not mean SLI isn't working is my point.

I also would like my stick to be a tad smoother. Sorry I do not trust some random Chinese worker who is starving to appropriately apply the grease which I am sure came from the lowest bulk bidder. I run A-10C with 3x 30" at 4800x2560, SLI is needed for surround. With this high of a resolution both 480's go to max utilization and I am GPU limited, not CPU.

This thread has a lot of bad information. I run both BS and A-10C titles with 2x 480's in SLI and it works great. Both 480's go to 100% GPU utilization at my 12.3 mega-pixel resolution.

Crossfire is the main reason I Ebay'd my ATI cards. SLI works tons better, especially in flight simulators.

I have confirmed that doesn't work, at least on my machine. I have the HOTAS plugged into the same hub as other devices which all perfectly go into standby mode, besides the throttle. Sounds like a throttle firmware issue.

What's wrong with blowing people up? If they are dedicated in "their" cause to killing you, you have to "stop" them before they can accomplish their goal. Conflict has been a huge part of human evolution and no matter how much we "wish", it isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future. I do enjoy military flight simulators more than civilian. While sometimes it's fun to go from point A to point B and enjoy the scenery, I like the more technical aspect of accomplishing a mission etc.

That doesn't make much logical sense. These sticks have sat in their boxes un-powered for months in transit and their firmware worked the first time you plugged it in.

lol the Cougar was like $199. That's not exactly expensive for all metal joystick/throttle.

Crossfire/SLI can help if you run high resolution. My 2x GTX 480's are MAXED out in A-10C. But then again I run 12.3 mega pixels ;).

Can anyone tell me how to reset the default cockpit zoom level? I jump into the sim with my head "view" slammed against the APU fire T-handle. Why would they set the view like this? On another note, is everyones Track IR working fine? In A-10C mine sometimes freaks out starts spinning even though my head isn't moving.

Boy did I have a close call today! I stupidly had my stick sitting on the edge of the desk while I messed with the throttle. Of course I inadvertently turned and knock it off the desk. The stick hit the floor and it popped the trim coolie hat off. The base of the stick put about a half inch deep gouge into my wood floor. good thing this thing is build so sturdy and everything else works fine after I put the coolie hat back on.

There's already been a thread about this. It's a TM issue that needs to be looked at and fixed in firmware upgrade. The Throttle is not responding to the standby USB command that usually puts USB devices to sleep. Only way to turn off the throttle until the firmware fix is to unplug the USB port or unplug your computer.

Sounds like the F-117 crews got a little too bold. Always flying the same routes etc thinking they were invulnerable. Grated it was only one F-117 loss though.

I'm pretty sure "generation" references to aircraft are reserved for fighters.

Do they not leave the package at the door? Here in the US, shipping companies like UPS and Fedex just leave the package at the door and walk away lol. If anyone steals it they just buy you a new one.
