Comparing an Escalade? Really? By no stretch of the imagination is that designed for off-road use. Then while testing a Land Rover to say American cars are unreliable? Land Rover has one of the worst histories ever for poor quality. http://www.cars.com/go/advice/Story.jsp?section=top&story=iqsBrand&subject=iqs

BS/A-10C work great on my SLI 480's. They get maxed out 100% GPU usage but that's because I run the resolution 5090x2560. When I had a 4GB 5970+2GB 5870 in tri-crossfire I believe it worked in BS. I went with nVidia though because SLI I find works much better than crossfire. I'm talking beyond just performance also.

Theres a mm or two of movement but nothing I would consider unacceptable. To have absolutely no lateral movement they would need to make it out of metal with beefier bearings and tighter clearances. I was more disappointed that the throttle handles/shaft are plastic and not metal over some slight lateral movement. I think for the price they could have kept the throttle metal like the Cougar. I love that cold hard feeling.

Dust covers For The Warthog

I would think the awesome'ness of looking at the controllers themselves would be better than looking at some cloth cover. ;) -
Green lights of TM Warthog Throttle
Callsign.Vega replied to STP Dragon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That is of no help. I have read the thread and random speculation doesn't equal a solution. Changing USB ports, de-selecting wake on mouse/keyboard in BIOS etc does nothing. Throttle stays in powered up mode when PC is turned off or put to sleep even though every single other USB device goes into standby as they should. Sounds like TM can only fix this with a firmware upgrade. The only way possible to get my throttle to power off is to constantly unplug it when not in use. Seems like a pretty basic design oversight. -

What exactly are these covers for, dust? Nothing a few seconds with a feather duster every couple of weeks won't cure. -

Green lights of TM Warthog Throttle
Callsign.Vega replied to STP Dragon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hmm where did you reference such an idea? How do USB hubs work into that? I have my Logitech G13 plugged into the same USB hub as my Warthog. If I turn off my computer the G13 powers down but the Warthog Throttle does not. -
Green lights of TM Warthog Throttle

I also noticed my HOTAS throttle lights also stay on when the PC is off. Do you guys think if this thing is powered up 24/7 for years it will wear it out faster? I wonder if in addition to the LED's the circuit board and hall sensors are also fully powered up. Seem's retarded to have to manually keep plugging it in and out. Why do the rest of my PC controls like the Logitech G13 etc go to sleep but the throttle doesn't? -
I have probably thousands of hours flying Falcon 3.0 lol. I played the crap out of that when I was 11-12 years old ('91-'92). I remember upgrading to a CPU with a math co-processor it was so awesome. Hmm I must get cracking on A-10C as I have more real flight hours versus simulator now. Warthog HOTAS arrives on Monday!

I am in Alabama and my Warthog is scheduled to arrive on Monday. -
They weren't playing any games. The ETA dates "changed" based off of new order ETA's, not the ETA's that were posted at your time of original order. Their website inventory status is not there to display ETA's of your order only. It's there to display an ETA if you ordered right as you where looking at it. This is how inventory systems work, so I don't get the "confusion". BLT shipped some ~85 orders at almost cost on Nov 4th. Sounds pretty good to me.
-
BLT shipped their first 85 or so pre-orders today for $405 with free shipping. The only reason the "ETA" got pushed back was for additional orders above the first 85. The ETA was stated if you ordered now, not when you pre-ordered so those with the first 85 or so get their Warthogs for $405+free shipping. I think people took that the ETA for "new" orders beyond the original bulk shipment meant all orders were pushed back. Of course this was not the case.

Received email that my BLT order shipped and at $405 with free shipping! See, I told you BLT would come through. -
I don't trust some of these vendors. http://www.compsource.com/pn/2960720/Thrustmaster_1122/ says 4 available. http://www.capitolsupply.com/catalog/2960720-x3-air-force-10c-cs11989315.html?cid=cse_ggl4 also says 4 available. Dell's price dropped to $499 and says ships within 24 hours. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A4217634&cs=19&c=us&l=en&dgc=SS&cid=27530&lid=627063

Hmm, interesting. Didn't they have 117 listed before for pre-orders? I doubt a full 50 people cancelled their orders. I was one of the first that pre-ordered and have not had any updates on the order for a couple of weeks now. I doubt they are shipping anything yet. I also doubt they just culled the $404 pre-order's as that would really piss off a lot of customers. It is strange because I have ordered through BLT before and they did really well. They also have a real high re-seller rating. Maybe they just got fed up about hundreds of people emailing them about shipment status constantly. -
First weekend impressions with the TM WARTHOG

I bought a new Cougar a year ago for $199. The Warthog is now $500+ in the US. That is some inflation. -

Can anyone comment on the quality versus the Cougar? The Cougar sold for $200 yet this Warthog is $500+. I know hall sensors are an upgrade and it has switches on the throttle base, but I guess I don't see where the 2.5 times the price of the Cougar comes from. Being made in China for peanuts I am sure TM is making a huge profit on these. -

If BLT tries and charges me $515 I'll likely cancel. Supposedly their email says that if the price changes they have to contact you first to confirm before they ship. There are still tons of shops listing the Warthog Hotas at low-$400's. Would be a total bait and switch if they do raise the price that high. If they didn't have any accurate pricing for the pre-order they should not have set such a low price. -
Obviously you have no idea how shipping distribution works. Just because Guillemot has their offices in France means absolutely nothing for distribution. 99% of Chinese good's are taken directly from Chinese port warehouses via container ship to resale country. It would be incredibly inefficient and wasteful to ship Chinese products to some warehouse in France only to need to get back on another ship for other countries.

Wow, I was one of ht first to pre-order at BLT and now they are showing $515.75 and a East coast shipping date of Nov 23rd? This HOTAS Warthog launch is going to hell in a hand-basket.
