With the lack of seat adjustability I've mapped camera height to the same hat I've got trim on, just with a modifier. Makes it a bit easier to see the carrier in the groove too.
-
Thanks for doing this, Mav. I have been actively repressing the memory of the first and only attempt I made to hook up to an S-3. Between your tips and the extra thirty or so hours I have in the 'cat, hopefully my second attempt ends with less fratricide.

The hot trigger warning light not being easy to see is the bane of my existence some days. Perhaps adding a selectable tinted visor to the helmet would be helpful.
-
That's a phenomenal level of detail.

Thanks again, Bankler! Loved this for the Hornet, loving it again for the Tomcat.

I'll second or third the suggestion to get Delanclip and attach with zipties. But definitely consider making your own, you'll have it much cheaper and faster in all likelihood and even if it isn't that great, you will have it while you wait for a replacement to arrive. My pro clip lasted a few years, but needed glue within the first 18 months. I still have the normal hat clip but I haven't found any good reflective tape to use on it.

That thought makes me a bit sad. Well I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under heavy sedation.

My update was in the order of 150MB. Zero mods.

Thanks for chiming in. Was doubting my sanity a bit.
-
Quite strange. Oh well, Wednesday is not far away.
-
Yeah, I did the update. I didn't have any crashes at all on 28841. On 28840, I get crashes. I can't seem to revert to 28841 either.
-
I'd like to revert. I'm getting crashes now that I wasn't getting on 28841, but I'm unable to complete the reversion process using Skatezilla's awesome utility.

That's identical to what my issue was.

Wonder if this is related to the bug I was experiencing last week with the sudden overpowering light source appearing whenever I had position lights on and probe deployed?
-
I wiped the lot. My install started out as an open alpha build and was turned into an open beta one at some stage. The only mod I ever installed was the A-4E, and uninstalling that didn't do anything. It was only an update or two ago that the flickering started. Hope you can fix your issue.
-
Delete and reinstall appears to have fixed the issue.

That looks very similar. Not sure why you can't see my video. I'm getting a playback error now too and I don't know why, although the video has had a few views since it was posted. should take you to the clip though. The light issue for me can be eliminated by turning off my position lights. I've uninstalled and deleted my DCS installation and am currently reinstalling it. Hopefully that will fix it. If it does and you have the same issue as I do, I'll report back.

Weird. Thanks Wags, must be something happening my end then.

[CANNOT REPRODUCE] Cockpit light flickering I did have a search to see if this had been reported but it looks like it hasn't yet. I've got a very bad flickering light issue in the cockpit that happens when two conditions are met. 1. Refuelling probe is extended (or is extending). 2. Navigation lights are set to 'on' position. I recorded it and uploaded it to YT. Apologies for the poor quality but the issue is visible in the clip. ${1} As you can see, switching the lights off was enough to stop the effect. It is repeatable in both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf maps, and happens at both day and night. Graphics drivers are up to date. Same issue occurred with the 4.16 Nvidia drivers. My system is an i5-7600K, 16GB of 3000mhz RAM, GTX1070Ti and I have DCS installed on an SSD under Windows 10. I have tried to repair files but it has made no difference. lightbug.trk DxDiag.txt

Serious Question: DLC and how it will be implemented.
Biggus replied to IceFire's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
So who's doing the first spring return potentiometer mod on a Warthog stick? -
I haven't tested it in DCS, but in Arma 3 there is a benchmark scenario that I use. I get roughly 10% more frames using my DDR4 using the XMP profile (3000mhz) vs the standard profile (2100mhz). There's lots of variables, though. I wouldn't worry too much.

That's a really good point. The developmental knowledge and skill built up with what they've done on the Viggen and the Tomcat are probably being put into something secret as parts of the team finish up their work on the known modules. The Aardvark and Tornado would be interesting. I haven't seen a ground radar mode on any of the modules I've purchased so far, so I can image that would be a bit of a hurdle. Either of those would be an instant purchase for me. (But my heart still cries for a naval Phantom.)

Upgrade from GTX 1060 (6GB) to GTX 1070TI - Worth it?
Biggus replied to Phil73805's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I agree with BuzzU. Your system should be performing reasonably well. Is your i5-8600k only running at 3.6ghz? If yes, that's where I'd be starting. I have a 7600k at just over 5ghz with a five year old AIO cooler. It's paired to half your RAM and a 1070Ti with an ultrawide 1440p monitor and it is pretty good. If I were you, I would consider a 1070Ti only if I was not prepared at all to change my power supply and I wasn't patient enough to wait and see what the 2060 is going to be like. -
That's a fair enough response.
