  1. Okay, I've just experienced a similar thing with AP but in this case it is unable to disengage by key command. I can use the mouse to disengage it. This is in a mission with an air start. I'll test it out a bit more tomorrow to see if it is repeatable. Could be same bug, could be different bug.
  2. I know there are serious issues with the replay system right now, but I've got a second issue where the Jester menu remains on the screen and I am unable to close it. I can move the Jester cursor line with my head tracker, but it doesn't seem to do much in terms of selecting from the options presented. I have seen a couple of threads similar to this in the past but there's been very few comments on it. I don't recall it existing in the initial release but it has been a problem for a few patches now. Is this something that is only causing issues for a small number of people, or is this a universal problem?
  3. Working fine for me on current OB patch. Could you have inadvertently turned off one of the SAS switches?
  4. I've been averaging two to three CTDs a night for a few weeks now. As of this second (and hopefully it's not just my lucky night), I am no longer experiencing CTDs. Well done on fixing or reducing the severity of the issue and what appears to be a good patch all round.
  5. This really is one of those cases where hardware makes a pretty significant difference. I have exactly the same stick and base combo and it's honestly like cheating now. When I was using the WH gimbal, I could hook up with the bigger tankers reasonably reliably with the AP auto-trim function engaged. If I did not use the autopilot, then I could not maintain contact for long enough to get more than 2-3000lbs if I was lucky. I didn't realise how bad the 'stiction' had become until I replaced the original base. Now I can even manage to drain an S-3B in a single connection with no AP engaged, although it is quite hard. Here's tonight's effort with a Stratobladder, my first online attempt at getting fuel. Ended up disconnecting at 16,000lbs with no other disconnections between the end of the clip and my intentional disconnect. I usually use bomb mode but I have tried auto a few times. It can be manageable but it's not worth the effort. Things can change unpredictably. I might play around with picking manual wing positions other than bomb position but I suspect that the greater the sweep, the slower the rate of change on the VSI will be. To a point, anyway.
  6. That's positive news!
  7. This bug reappeared for me. Current open beta, on GAW server. Thankfully PAL mode worked without crashing.
  8. Current open beta version, GAW server. Engaging a pair of hostile Su-25s from their 9 o'clock, with maybe 5000ft height advantage to me. Select PAL, lock first target. Jester calls "that's a friendly" on confirmed hostile target. I lock the second target with PAL again and crash to desktop instantly. Logfile was too large to upload. Is there anyone posting in this thread that isn't using Tacview?
  9. In two months of online flying, I have had two people ask to sit in the back. Two. I feel as if some of the commenters in this thread would be happy for me to leave the Tomcat in the hangar for 58 nights out of 60. It is unrealistic that the premier long range precision strike platform of the USN from the late 90s to the mid 00s cannot employ the LANTIRN pod. I hope HB considers making the workaround official and then provide some control for server admins to allow or disallow it.
  10. Before I even click on a listing, I look at the number of sales and the seller's rating. After that, I check the reviews. I've ordered about sixty individual items so far this year and I have only had two fail to arrive. My only real issue is that I keep adding cheap components to my cart and then discovering that I've gone over my budget. Buying on Aliexpress is almost a hobby within itself.
  11. I buy a lot of my stuff through Aliexpress if I can wait a month or so for it to arrive. Descriptions usually include enough information to find a datasheet. I often use Arrow and RS Electronics for things that are either urgent or are being used for things that I believe warrant it. Tactile switches, for example. For some things, I'm fine with using Aliexpress switches. $2 for a bag of 50. If the switches are going somewhere that will take me significant time or effort to replace should they go bad, I spend the same money on a single Omron switch from Arrow. It might not really make a difference but the prices are so low for the effort expended that the peace of mind is worth it.
  12. Normal Notepad changes the file a bit when you save it, and that's why it wasn't working for you, BuzzU. Notepad++ preserves the 'invisible' formatting. It's a tiny download and far better for poking around files that aren't strictly text files.
  13. I have not had the bug again since I started prompting Jester to run through the start up. I get ground power and air, turn on the o2 and set ICS to hot mic, and then I open the Jester menu and select 'start up'.
  14. I am excited for this. I have a Warbrd on it's way already, and I'll be buying this stick when it becomes available.
  15. Thanks Bailey! Your profiles are greatly appreciated.
  16. I just watched a phoenix I launched at a hostile aircraft on the GAW server. When it missed it's target and ran out of energy, it fell towards the earth. It reported 311kn and 24111ft on the missile view although there was no way the altitude was correct. Several hundred feet above the ground, the missile disappeared and the camera continued moving as if the missile was still there. I have seen many instances of missing missile models but burning rocket motors in F6 view since the latest open beta patch. Something is seriously amiss here.
  17. Hey Bailey, that link doesn't seem to be working for me. Directs me to a google error page.
  18. Two sorties flown. Both cold start. In the first mission, my start up routine was to prompt Jester to commence his tasks by turning on an engine. Once airborne, I selected TID and was met with a blank screen. I did spend some time trying to get Jester to change radar modes in the hope that it would fix the problem, but I did not find a fix. On the second sortie, I made sure to ask Jester to start up via his menu and then immediately selected TID to see if the display was going to work. I am happy to report that in this case, I was able to see the radar page. I don't know if this is a fix or if it's just dumb luck. I'll test it a bit more over the next few days.
  19. I did not. Problem solved. Thanks for that tip!
  20. You aren't alone in this. It is quite hit or miss for me. Sometimes on Hoggit GAW I can send and receive but not reliably from session to session. I now ask Jester to tune to an ATIS and if I can't hear transmissions, then I don't use that radio for that session. I can't identify a cause and can't tell if it is a Tomcat module issue or an SRS one. It is frustrating.
  21. Isn't weapon and pylon drag a bit off in DCS at the moment?
  22. Real life it is an analog input. Most of us are using on/off input. It might not matter much but worth keeping in mind.
