Have to agree with OutOnTheOP there, the Iraqis did the best they could with the hardware they had, and weren't slouches. Regarding M829A1 penetration including sand berm, T-72 entry and exit I think you mean this photo. Would like to know the range at which this happened too if possible. It's certainly impressive, imagine what the M829A3 from 2003 can do.

Oh yea, lol I forgot about that. How do you guys deal with that weather?? :D Talk about a matter of perspective!
-
Yea, many got it worse than us. I'm hoping to see the sun one day, it's been a few weeks since I've seen it, gets sort of depressing when that happens. Earliest sunshine isn't until Saturday for us in PA

LOL, awsome, and caught on camera too. :D

LOL, nice one marcos. I'd like a more real world representation, as that would provide all the drama I would want in my real world simulations. If 1 M1 would be capable of taking on 3 T-80's, I would make sure to make things interesting in my mission design by giving the T-80's a 4 to 1 ratio against the M1's if I wanted that kind of scenario. On the other hand, what we actually have is something that's really lopsided, and the track proves that the M1 is firing only HE rounds which aren't very effective against a T-80. Simply allowing the AI M1's to fire AP would probably sort this problem out rather quickly.

Signing in, appreciate your concern. :) We're okay here, there's some flooding, about a foot of water in the basement, power is back on this morning, but we're not out of the woods yet, expecting a few more inches of rain. Winds hit 60mph around 10PM but it's much calmer this morning at least. Just south of my location there's snow, cousins living in Rehoboth are also reporting they are okay.
-
Stay Safe diveplane and anyone in the path, for my area they are predicting 5 inches of rain and 60mph winds, then snow on the backside, and the trees still have leaves on them... Looks like it might get a little dark and cold for me too.

The best part is that if you've seen ralfidude's videos, you'll find he and his friends are really fun to watch, and very funny with their banter. Looking forward to seeing the video. :D

What did you expect lol, he's from Tasmania, everyone knows those guys as well as the Australians have some of the best sense of humor on the planet. :D

as the Gausscat should be. :D I can't wait to see what we're getting in the Patch on Tuesday.
-
It might have to wait, as relikt armor doesn't seem to be in production or issued to Russian tanks yet. There's also Kaktus, a follow on to Relikt, but again no info on it being actually procured on Russian Tanks as of yet.

Gauss Catapult K2?? :D Just kidding, what was your mech and config for that match?
-
The weather for today... Cloudy with a chance of molten iron rain. I'm sure if we keep looking, we'll find something similar to our planet, would be really cool to know we aren't alone out here, and that some other planet is enjoying "I love Lucy" episodes. :D

At least your having an awsome flu, I hate when people get the other kind. :D Hope you get better, quickly, even if it is an awsome flu.. And happy birthday!!! :)

Thanks for that info Pilotasso, I was hoping there'd be more joystick support like in the older MW games. I don't aim with the joystick, I just use it to position my legs, the mouse does all the aiming as you do. Having the throttle slider on the side of my joystick, plus all the buttons to toggle weapons and other options with the left hand allows me to have a HOTAS of sorts in the mech, while more precise aiming while on the move with the mouse in the right hand so I don't need to use the keyboard at all most of the time while in game. System worked well for me since 1994 :D
-
I've got to get my controls set up better for this game. For MW2,MW3,MW4, I used to use a Joystick in the left hand to control where the mech is walking, and to control the throttle, with the Y axis disabled to avoid any extra movement in the torso twist. In the right hand I used a mouse for weapon selection and torso twist. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get my setup as above with MWO's implemetation. Using the keyboard for mech direction is not precise enough. And the throttle slider doesn't seem to want me to be allowed to go in reverse and forward.

Thanks for that info Grimes, and thanks the effort you guys put into such a feature to help make it more easy to understand for guys like me. We do appreciate it!!

LOL, that's where they lost me too leafer. I can see how it's a powerful new tool for us to use, but for guys like me, who have no programming experience, I'd like to just have a pre made selection box that I can check when I make simple missions for things like, I dunno... Say when a Tank gets hit, that's part of a group, and is only damaged, crew gets out and runs to nearest cover, with a certain % chance the commander will stay with his tank and use the machine gun to fire back, other vehicles in the group scatter and move to nearest cover and attempt to attack while disembarking troops, and popping smoke to obscure target area. APC's immediately stop when under attack and squads disembark to nearest cover, those with Igla's or stingers take up position and attack threat. Would make for some interesting and more true to life reactions I think.

Flyable Su-34 in World???
Invader ZIM replied to Invader ZIM's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
So it is for real? This will be so cool when it comes out!! -
Came across this on youtube: It seems to be an Su-34 that's being piloted in DCS World, and the cockpit seems to have some functionality, I hope this is true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUNqBrur3gA&feature=player_embedded I don't know if it's for real or not, but if it is, it's pretty neat that someone is working on a flyable Su-34 for DCS World. I love to fly this one, if this isn't a joke that is.
-
Edit: Noticed the in the briefing at the end it seems the M1A2's are firing 120mm HE rounds only, and the T-80U is firing both the missile and 125mm AP ammo.
-
Tested out the T-80U vs. the M1's to see if anything had changed with DCS World and A-10C and Combined Arms patched to the latest with auto updater as of 7:00 pm EST. Attached track is of a single T-80U vs. 10 M1A2's that are over 2 miles away and closing toward each other over very flat ground. Both sides are set to Excellent AI, and both sides are firing at each other quickly after the scenario starts. End result was similar to what was heavily debated back in July, a single T-80U takes out 6 M1A2's head on before it's destroyed. I'm hoping ground AI targeting and armor will get a closer look. And if your playing missions, you might have to adjust the AI settings for both sides to get the result your looking for. 1 AI Exc. T-80=6 M1A2 AI Excellent.trk

Done as well.
