No lag on my machine, neither SP nor MP. Flying on Syria online almost every day. Problem very likely is connected to OP's setup.
-
Player is instructed to switch to 'Sdes'. I guess the F key was broken and 'Sdef Fs' is meant...
-
After shutting down the aircraft, wheel chocks are placed automatically. They are included it in the automatic placement and removal of the boarding ladder, depending on the battery switch
-
It's a great idea to include heat blur effects, yet this seems ridiculously too much. This is in idle power.

I was about to vent off the same thought. Glad the OP did it. The manual is confusing and not very explanatory. Picturing a switch labeled XY and the only explanation is "This is the XY switch" is not very helpful and a bit lazy imo. In many cases the (apparently) French abbreviations aren't disclosed anywhere. So the switch is explained but the label's meaning remains a mystery ('Sdef Fs' for example)... Even Razbam's Mirage2K manual did it better and that one was a mess.

Disconnect trigger throws out any active modes beyond the PA indication. It seems to be an attitude hold mode. No idea why they didn't simply name it as such in the manual and instead cryptically call it 'basic functions'.
-
Am I supposed to make use of 'basic functions' and keep these active all the time? What exactly does the disconnect lever kill beyond what the disconnect trigger does? Why would I not lever-disconnect but rather trigger-disconnect?

I can confirm there is a gap with the Virpil throttle MT-50CM3 too. Lever in cockpit commences moving visually only beyond 22% of my hardware lever. Since with Virpil you have to use a deadzone to implement a cutoff zone according to your attached hardware detent, the true threshold should be around 13 % (as my deadzone needs the first 10% of the lever range.) So an additional software zone is there, but it's not much (13%)...

any idea how to get it on with battery on? Switched up the RWR switch, yet the tone test is not showing any life.

In the Training>Cold start lesson, the moment you switch on VOR/ILS, you'll hear static noise. The radio selector unit's dials have no effect. The box' functionality isn't exactly well explained in the manual, so the answer could be hidden elsewhere but adjusting the VOR-(volume?)-dial has no effect, nor does any of the other dials and switches. Same problem with TACAN, when a station is received.

How can we stop the DCS radio menu selection automatically prompting us to request startup/taxi/takeoff clearance whenever we touch any airfield surfaces? Not only is this annoying in case you entirely don't use the system, for example on many/most MP servers. It also messes up voiceattack scripts you may have set up to access the ground crew. Simply accessing F2-external view is also difficult if you have to take care for exiting the menu first.
-
I think it's too much. Engine in idle on the ground, of course there should be 'some' heat blur from the exhaust. Yet the current level is...remarkable.

I'd agree the left image doesn't look like IR at all.

can not reproduce Pressing LEFT LONG George AI helper button - hangs dcs
Rongor replied to hreich's topic in Bugs and Problems
Be cautious with left long. This can switch from SAL to RF, which of course doesn't make sense since we don't have the radar Hellfires. The HAD will display MSL TYPE? but the cause can't be seen unless you look onto your WPN format page, which most people won't have opened since they watch George's TADS view while giving him consent and wondering he can't fire. Took me a while to find this RF thing. Also it confuses George. If you switch back to SAL, he might return it to RF again... JackieChanmeme, you know that one... -
Those who voted AH-64 here obviously never play MP with George. It's an absolute mess. George can't see half of the targets in front of you. George lists targets which are behind obstacles and don't have LOS to you, happily wasting missiles. George misses Hellfire shots on moving targets George sometimes even misses Hellfire shots on static targets. George doesn't engage, but claims to do so. This is stuff you have to sort out while being under enemy threat. And it's so much fun that people prefer it over the Blackshark, totally reasonable.
-
Relatively short track (93 MB) this time. First 5 minutes are startup, then I take off, left turn, looking for targets. Trying to attack a tank in 7 km distance. All Hellfires (3 or 4, lost count in frustration) miss. With the last missile the usual problem: "engaging", then - no action. I was shot down then by the AI opponents. REDFOR doesn't employ Georges apparently. https://file.io/k1asmI6Naimr

Was there a problem with the helpful crosshair? Precise pointing was much more convenient without having to zoom in and out all the time. When you sit less than 1 meter from a 43" screen, it's not so obvious where the screen center precisely is Probably it is still precise enough, considering that the Mirage's INS will wander within minutes anyway. Yet it feel a bit like flying blindly now without the crosshair.
-
I am a bit confused right now how to readout precise coords from the F10 map since the crosshair feature is gone...

The moment you know where the enemy is (have him locked with radar), maintain a higher altitude and accelerate. The higher you are, the less air density your missile will have to overcome, the faster you are, the more acceleration can be added to the missile by its rocket motor after launch, this means a longer range and more energy to maneuver if the enemy is evasive. Optional: You can shoot first at max range in the hope to make him turn away. This missile won't hit him but he is busy being defensive while you are closing in preparing the lethal launch on him Launch at no-escape range. Since your Fox1 needs you continuing to fly towards him, prepare to use your cm dispenser for his likely answer. If he doesn't have a radar lock on you, focusing on flares makes sense, as it is likely he might shoot a Fox2 on you. Practice to maneuver without losing radar track of him. This is all very shallow but could be some entry into this matter.

I'll leave it here for anybody else aiming to do this: in the current DMPS version (v0.4.3.1) it is line 5170 in your Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Hooks\DMPS-hook.lua Thanks Bailey, this is a great tool you created. Hoping for ED to show appreciation for your efforts as well...

What do I have to do if I don't want the ingame-DMPS window to show up right after starting DCS all the time? It's kind of annoying having to close it whenever I start DCS. I am not always flying Mirage

one version now How to update from Stable to open beta
Rongor replied to Sparkman's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
I can only recommend to take the plunge and simply install the OpenBeta as well. Especiallly since you are not on Steam. It's not like the installation will download everything again. You basically install a second version of DCS, paralllel to your stable version. During installation the openbeta will simply copy everything equal over from your stable installation folder. Just don't forget to copy your controls settings too, or you will have to bind everything again. OpenBeta is not only the way to enjoy all the new stuff earlier, it also gives you access to many grand MP servers otherwise closed to you.
