Why on earth would you want to buy a new disk? You already learnt in this thread your disk isn't necessary at all. Also your activations don't decrease, as there was no reason to deactivate any product so far. Switching to desktop for a second before entering gameplay is quite normal. But I don't think they explain that in their manual, which by the way can easily be found in your DCS World installation folder. After all you apparently don't have any experience with downloading and installing games. So better ask some of your buddies at home to visit you and guide you through that. If this is not an option, simply visit ED's website and open the FAQ-section There you will find the two topics Downloading and Installation on the left. Click those and read them. Do as the FAQ tell you to.

The mission editor is in fact not very beginner-friendly. Most of stuff is only poorly documented, lacking intuitive usage in many cases. Some geniuses managed to get behind all kinds of functionality and to use it efficiently. They also enter code by using LUA-scripting. After all it seems, this front is left to people that bear enough time to study all mission designing functions by try and error. A well documentation remains to be seen. ED doesn't really touch it. So I am afraid you have to collect any knowledge piece by piece, roaming across available sources...

If you installed DCS under Steam, you will have to reinstall any mod after every update of DCS provided by Steam. Applies also to DCS World installations outside Steam, if autoupdate is active.

You need updated star force drivers for that. That is what google told me. Maybe you want to google "lockon windows 7" yourself to enjoy all the other related information I also found. Personally I don't have a clue, since LockOn is an 11 years old Ubisoft Game from 2003. Perhaps you do yourself a favor and join the DCS World community while having so much more fun with a decent modern and unrivalled flight sim. You can download DCS World for free here or in Steam.

EDGE-Beta?

If it is only copy/paste for ED, what are they waiting for? I don't need EDGE to have fun across Crimea. We wait for EDGE since about 3 years now. If waiting for Edge is the reason we can't have other maps, please abandon EDGE and spam us some maps.

I interpret the manual telling me "“ОТКЛ” = Powers the PVI-800 off" to have all other settings powering it on. Pressing АЭР now works fortunately, I can't reproduce it any more. But since I have your attention :) what does the ПНK-switch on the wall panel do? Seems it has no effect on availability of the PVI-800 so far. Or does it?

Reading the manual I expect the Rubicon to display coordinates when in РАБ mode. Also pressing any key doesn't light up selected key. The left dial should bring the PVI-800 to live when turned out of the ОТКЛ-position. Which it doesn't do here.

I fail in powering the PVI-800 up. Aircraft is started, both engines and generators running, governors are on auto, K-041 is activated, ПНK-switch on the wall panel and ИКВ on rear panel are on. Dial on the PVI-800 panel is turned out of ОТКЛ to РАБ. Display of PVI-800 remains dark. brightness dial also tested of course... are there any common mistakes I do here?

This happens inside the game, after starting Multiplayer. So no cookies nor browser interference.

The TM HOTAS Warthog stick doesn't have a z-axis. In your video the stick movement matches the indicators perfectly so I can't notice any problem.

When I get a disconnect, it is not because of a insufficient boom operating AI but because of me not reacting smooth enough in my exact maintaining of formation. I assume you are speaking of most of those guys that already lost patience on this learning task.

actually the more distant you were allowed, the more difficult would it be to determine stable position visually. The boom doesn't really matter at all. As EtherealN mentioned, fllying stable formation is the key. Ignore the boom.

Still people manage to refuel successfully. I know I trained weeks for that and I am still not very good at it losing contact several times while refueling. First I just managed to contact. Then I got fuel for a second. Then I lasted some seconds, now I am up to more then 20. In between I watched tutorial youtube videos. Often there were times I was convinced I would never get this. And now that I get into it, I am sure I did it much quicker than in RL, because it must still be so much challenging in RL. This is what DCS is all about. I am not saying everybody is made for this. But if this is just not yours, accept it and instead be good at something else. If you don't accept this, go on training and you might finally achieve what you aim for. If you are sure to have sufficient hardware at hand, you have the best chances. Just don't replace patience with a game mode.

There are many things that would be realistic if it was adjustable during flight in cockpit. Simply this is not the scope of Flaming Cliffs aircraft. These contain Standard Systems Modeling (SSM) only. You can do such things in the Advanced Systems Modeling (ASM) by actually using cockpit levers, buttons, keys and knobs in the DCS modules.

I don't think this is how kickstarter works. Waving with money doesn't spawn developers. You will have to hope that some guys are willing to start a project like this. Then these guys may go the kickstarter path. Or they won't.

Is there any recording upload available on youtube?

As long as Nukes stay out of the game... Also unclear to me what such a module should contain. You would need a bunch of planes, global theater maps and plenty of ground based stuff. Seems to be somewhat too big to picture the topic in one single module...
