  1. Not all that much to share, except that the 3D is amazing. The DK2 doesn't have the best resolution, and I have a lot of the graphics turned down. Still looks really good, and is pretty smooth, but instead of my GTX 750ti, if I had a GTX 980ti with a better monitor to set the resolution off of it would be much better. That all being said, I can fly really smooth especially on the tanker. I need to get an extension for my warthog though, as doing tiny adjustments isn't the easiest... but as a real world pilot of 20 years, I can tell you that the Rift definitely gets you more in the cockpit than a Tir or anything like it. Edit: I would like to add that I've added a couple mods (larger HUD font, Label adjustment to see where targets are only within a couple miles) and I have the 2D sprites turned on Large. The issue with that is you can see where all the civilian traffic is, and that's annoying.
  2. Between your F-14, ED's F-18 Legacy, the talk of an A-6 and A-7, it looks like my carrier wing is finally going to happen, and on the Forrestal no less. I wonder if we can get an AI C-130 to land on her?
  3. Hey Cowboy, check in the DCS Settings, and make sure you have the model size on large instead of default. It will put a black spot where the target is. I've also adjusted the labels for everything, so that the labels are still there, but just a black dot, so I can see them in my DK2. Works pretty well I think.
  4. I can confirm what Arctic just said. I have been flying for a week with my Oculus Rift, and every mission I do, I put in a tanker because it looks cool. I don't put any waypoints, just have him on an orbit out of range of any air defenses. It's turning the whole time, but having the 3D and better FOV makes it super easy. I can connect as quick as they do in the video.
  5. Hey guys, I'm having an issue. I just downloaded (I think) everything I need. I had deleted F12 from the DCS commands list, and made sure the other keys were not used... The issue I have deals with trying to get the tanker to respond. I can hear the static when pressing the PTT, but when I give the command "tanker, refuel", it takes me to an external webpage here Any ideas where I might have something set up wrong? Appologies for not reading all 30+ pages here in the forum. The other thing I've tried, real quick, was to setup the mic switch on the TM:Warthog, which was ok, but could only get it to turn on, not off again like pressing the NUM0. Thanks
  6. I finally flew with a friend in the L-39 the other day. With him flying, I saw his gear still down, yet he saw it in the up position. I could also hear the air rush over the gear, but he didn't hear anything.
  7. I would have to add to that in saying I hope they can set an option to have the aircraft in carrier configuration at start (wings folded), otherwise there will be a lot of space taken up.
  8. Hey Skate, It keeps telling me that BS1 isn't installed, and can't install the upgrade license... doing the DCS_Updater.exe, it says it can get a lock
  9. Hey guys, Many years ago when BS1 came out, I had purchased the digital download. I had then bought the upgrade to BS2. A while back, I had uninstalled them, however, a few days ago DCS:World has been asking me to install the upgrade. Obviously it won't work without BS1 installed. I redownloaded the BS1 digital version, installed it, and it works fine. I then went into World OpenBeta where it's been telling me to upgrade, but it doesn't show that BS1 is installed. I doubt I'll fly it, since I fly the UH-1 or A-10C, or L-39... but would like to have it installed to stop the messages. Can you help?
  10. For all of you with the DK2, I just got mine and see an issue. With the headset positioned properly (although not sure I have the IPD settings correct), I can see some of the red from RGB hanging a little low. If I tilt the main part of the DK2 from the top-out (not what is attached to my head, but the front box), everything lines up properly and looks more clear. With it sitting normal, the red hanging puts it out of focus a little. Any idea how I can fix this?
  11. I keep saying that we need a "Hawk" helo in the sim, especially with multi-seat MP, for use with CSAR ops and such.
  12. The Intruder would definitely be an awesome 2 seat aircraft. I'd fly BN just for the fun of having to kick the computers to make them work right.
  13. thanks for the reply Yo-Yo. I was on a straight in approach, on speed, but with all aircraft, some power adjustments need to be made. As I was trimmed (and can fly aircraft ;) ), I had no problem with the approach. I only found it strange that when applying throttle adjustments, the nose would rise or fall opposite from what I'm used to in the multitude of aircraft I have flown. Again, I've never flown an L-39, but the principle should carry over, as it deals with power and aerodynamics.
  14. One thing I learned as a pilot back in the day, was to control your pitch with power while on final. As a pilot of 20 years, that's still typically true, except with the L-39. In all other aircraft, and real world, when adding power the nose should rise. The opposite is true when reducing power, the nose should drop. In the L-39 though, it seems to be reversed, which makes the approach a little wonky. When adding power the nose drops, whereas when reducing power the nose rises. Is this a mix up in the flight dynamics?
  15. update, and pretty much final. There's a small area of text that I can't figure out from pictures of the real jet, and I haven't heard back from the guy that actually painted the real one (only messaged him an hour ago). Once I get the text on there, I'll release this paint.
  16. At the top of Model viewer, there's a slider with -1000 on the left, and +1000 on the right. To the right of that is ARG #. Set both ARG #9 and #10 to +1000 on the slider. 9 is for the Right Flap, 10 is for the Left Flap. As you can see in my picture, I have both the flaps down. As a side note, the first 8 arguments are for the landing gear, so if you're looking for other areas, start after the flaps. I'm trying to find the list of arguments, since there are hundreds (front pilot is #50, back pilot is #472). Hope this helps.
  17. In model viewer, when you have the aircraft EDM file loaded, click on view at the top. Then Dialogs, then Show Liveries Dialog. It will then present you with a window showing all installed liveries.
  18. The left side is almost finished. I have a few adjustments to make though, and I'm waiting on the actual pilots to send me some close up shots of some of the text in the "hard to see" areas. Speaking of which, they've given me a thumbs up on how it looks so far. One area I do have a problem with is removing the board numbers on the tail... anyone have an idea on that?
  19. I'm actually working on the Vandy 1 scheme right now, as per the Vandy 1 (real world) pilots request. Once I get it finished, I'll post pictures.
  20. Skin is released!
  21. I uploaded my first file to the website yesterday, and it's still showing "Checking". Is there a length of time that has to pass, or does it just need Admin approval? I had thought that for skin textures, it would go pretty fast.
  22. Desert Digital has been uploaded and is awaiting activation.
  23. Greetings all, I will be uploading the Tan Digital Camo version shortly. The winter digital still needs a few updates in terms of alignment. I will also be doing a blue version. Also on my list are the 4 different Aggressor Squadron repaints. Let me know what you think of these! (some updates have already been made to the textures to better align certain areas.) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1089293/#postform
  24. Testing out the new skin I made for my squadron. All images taken in Multiplayer flying AdawgPHL's wing.
  25. Ok thanks. Doing the reprints is fine, but I couldn't find the files.
