There are 2 oxygen regulators on eBay for sale. Anyone here in Germany or Europe interested in getting it with me and buying the second? Pm me if interested. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380461145897?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_638wt_922

I might get the one with 2 panels

Great looking instruments DM. I'd definitely like to get my hands on a few of those. Even if I couldn't get them to work in the sim until I'm old and grey (which isn't that far off),it'd be great to see those in a pit.

WTB: Pre-cutted wood for ACES II seat in Europe
hog_driver111th replied to TomDK's topic in Home Cockpits
Make that 3... If my wife would let me, although I am planning on making my own. If either of you two have good plans for the A-10 version of the aces seat, let me know and maybe I'll do the work. -
It's been a few days since I could post anything, but here's a work in progress picture of one of my MFCDs alongside the Thrustmaster mfd bezel. Yes, I did actually cut all the squares (times 4... 2 faceplates, 2 middle "lightplates") by hand with an exacto knife.

what are these switches for in real aircraft
hog_driver111th replied to seed's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Seed, you're not understanding. The ground safety arm switch allows you to shoot your weapons while the landing gear is extended, which is basically what lubey said. -
Graphics card
hog_driver111th replied to hog_driver111th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What do you guys recommend? I've seen an HP H9T Phoenix or something like that, a little pricey and without SSD, but I could always install one of those? I'd like something that'll definitely do good with DCS and FSX. I really don't play any other games except a few ATC controller types. -
Graphics card
hog_driver111th replied to hog_driver111th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm actually using pretty low setting. No HDR, cockpit shadows are off, scenes, water and shadows on low. 512 for the cockpit. I've done a full defrag and cccleaner. My fps is still pretty crappy, like really bad, which is why I thought a new Graphics card would be good. -
Ive been having some serious slow down issues when flying, to where flying the Mustang is an issue. My current system is a couple years old, but I don't have the money for a new system. I'm thinking my power supply (that came with the PC) is too little, so I thought about getting a 750W PSU. My graphics card is an ATI HD 4650. In looking around, I can get an HD 6850, or HD 6950 for a pretty good price. Question is, would that be enough? I know having an SSD would help, but I can't afford all 3. I've been trying to decide what to do for my bday next month. More gauges for the cockpit, upgraded pc parts, or just saving up for a new complete PC with an i7-3770k. What do you all think? Oxygen Regulator and SAS panel. Not the best photo, but...

Black PVC sheets 3mm thick for the middle and top panel. The baseplate is 1mm aluminum sheet. I printed out ReactorOne's panel files at 100%, and first used them as a stencil to get the proper size. After I cut out the holes (all by hand with an exactly knife), I cut the printed panel text and glue it onto the PVC.

Another 2 panels "done".

2 new panels, plus I fixed the ELEC panel. I'm currently working on the ILS and environment, but my exacto knife just broke... Of course.

The OH-58D would be a good start actually, even without the -64.... Now that we have Combined Arms, the Kiowa would be perfect for JTAC/AFAC roles assisting everyone and calling in the big guns.

why do some jets need a chute to slow them down on landing?
hog_driver111th replied to neroroxxx's topic in Chit-Chat
The F-117 would use the chute only in extreme situations. I remember being at Holloman AFB in 1996, there was a thunderstorm on the way and it was already raining. The 5 jets airborne had to get in quick, so to help slow them down faster to get off the runway for the next jet, they used the chutes. -
I might have to steal your light idea since my panels won't be backlit
-
Haha, you caught me. After trying a few different ways, I ended up cutting the text out of the printouts I used as a stencil (the ones from reactor). In cutting the text, I made sure to go as close to the white as possible to avoid extra black showing. Then just used a glue stick. I think they look great, except I just noticed from the picture that I did the ELEC panel upside down. (long angle side should be on the bottom, right?)
-
I did, thanks. I could have done the oval, but time and using a exacto knife was easier to make round holes. I'll be working on the others during the week since I have 3 days off.
-
It's been a while since I could do anything towards my pit due to family and work schedule. I've been working on some panels thanks to Reactor's panel files. I'm using black PVC sheets to make the panels, trying to keep the costs as low as possible. Down the road I can update them for backlighting, but I'm not worried about that for now. Here are two panels I'm basically finished with. I have the aluminum cut for the backplate for the ELEC panel. I just need to drill the holes. The AHCP is only the faceplate so far. I'm currently working on the landing gear and Fuel/Hyd panel. After that will be the MFCDs and the fire pull handle area so that my front panel is finished.

Looking for TM Cougar AB Detente
hog_driver111th replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For the cougar? My cougar didn't have one, at least not an extra part. -
Hey whiskey, do you have a CNC machine? Are you doing panels?
-
Not a stupid idea at all, but the PVC is something I can cut with scissors and a knife... and it's pretty cheap to buy at OBI.
-
Fredd, even I remember press on letters but only cause I'm in my mid 30s. Hehe. I was hoping for a solution where I could still use the MS33558 font from the panels.
-
Not that I have a clue on something like that, in hearing from a few people that have flown both, the flight dynamics aren't totally different, only that the 2 seater feels a little heavier. Since we can't feel the G-forces flying the sim, I'm not sure how much different they would model it.
-
Ok, so, even though I have a bunch of panels from Pitbldr (Thanks Pit!), I thought I'd go a cheap route for the rest of the panels until later on. I've started with the Landing gear, AHCP, and ELEC panel. I'm using Black PVC Sheets, and thought about printing the text out onto transparent self-adhesive paper. The problem is, for obvious reasons, that I can't print white text... which of course sucks as my printer doesn't have white ink. Here's a picture of what I have so far. It's not the best quality, and the landing gear panel is still under construction, but any ideas how I can get the white text on there?
