FSX is great if you're interested in learning about civil flight. The PMDG 737 is a great example of what is possible in the engine. Personally, I like to use it to practice navigation and IFR procedures. The base game is a bit bland these days, but the massive amount of third party addons is really where the game shines. Also, if you're into helicopters, there's a physics engine addon that realistically models helicopter flight physics called HTR. I highly recommend the following: Real Environment Extreme OrbX Scenery PMDG 737 Dino's F-15 and T-45 Aerosoft OV-10 Bronco Aerosoft Twin Otter A2A Piper Cub Lotus L-39 MilViz Cessna 310 And many more. Also, the rights to the engine and source code have been sold to Lockheed Martin, who have released [Prepar3d](http://www.prepar3d.com/), which is essentially a slightly updated version of FSX. Nearly all addons are compatible with both.

No, the Su-33 still uses the old style LockOn pit with 2D panels on a 3D cockpit.

I recommend running the "DCS Repair" option before a full uninstall and reinstall. I had this problem when I updated to 1.2.4 because I decided to throw all my mods back in before checking compatibility. It turns out that the server.lua and view.lua files have changed in 1.2.4 for the new 6DOF cockpits, and I had overwritten them with obsolete data that caused the HUDs to get all funky just like in your screenshot. When I ran a repair, it fixed the issue. Try it and see if it does the same for you.

Along with the Su-27, I absolutely love the new Su-25A cockpit as well!

Unfortunately as forums get larger and people start getting high post counts they start to think it's alright to be an asshole to new members just asking questions. Truth is, most forum search tools are terrible and are put in a place that draws no attention to them on the page. Google is actually a better search tool than the one that the forum has. To answer your question, many people had similar issues when updating from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3. I'm not sure if the updater is broken or what, but when I updated, I had to do a full reinstall. It's time consuming, but it doesn't actually remove your control settings or anything, so it should be relatively painless to get yourself all set up again. This process shouldn't take up an activation of your modules, but it has done so in the past. If you are concerned about this (they do come back after a certain period of time), make sure to deactivate your modules first by following the instructions in THIS THREAD.

You need to go to the axis settings for the plane you want to fly and set them for each of your input devices. Don't blame the development because you can't be bothered to set up your own controls. With how many controls you need to operate these planes there's no way the devs can predict how your exact combination of hardware should be set up.

The one where you press enter is a more realistic FOV. You still have to go "heads down" to see the MFCDs, and you should be able to see the HUD symbology clearly.

The Su-25T is a flaming cliffs jet. It was ported directly from Flaming Cliffs 2. TARS only works with DCS airframes since they actually have radios simulated.

TARS currently does not work with the Flaming Cliffs jets, including the Su-25T.

I really like the music, but to be honest I miss the music from Black Shark 1.

This is what I did, then I stuck the image on one of my external drives in case I ever need it again. LOMAC has no DRM, it just needs to be installed on a hard drive. This would also work if you don't want to bother with ISO tools. You can just extract the CD to a folder and run the exe from there.

I just tested showing the pilot model in the most recent version of BS2 and it works just fine. It also works in the P-51.

It helps if you use the terrain to mask your helicopter from enemy defenses. Also, being extremely low over water makes it hard for radar to lock you.

I solved this by running the game in a borderless window. In your graphics options, set your resolution to your desktop resolution, and uncheck the "fullscreen" option. Now you will be able to alt-tab with no issues at all. By the way OP, what you did here is one of the most frustrating things on the internet. When somebody goes searching for this problem in the future, they're going to find this thread and find that you provided no help whatsoever on how to fix your problem.
