DCS WWII: Europe 1944 - Unofficial Promotional Trailer

Seconded. The bailout is "FPS" in DCS World. That ought to be shown. :) -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944 - Unofficial Promotional Trailer
[DBS]TH0R replied to Bucic's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Very nicely done. Already on the TO-DO list, for some time now... -
Signed up for alpha access, so I will do my best. :)

I understand, that is why I posted my reply - including the dissected tactics and various other formations used. To the untrained eye, it is difficult to spot certain things. And I've been studying the subject for some years now. DBS can offer you that kind of experience. ;)

That is actually a wrong depiction of a combat box. Left and right 3 ship elements are on the wrong altitude (note the pilot position in the B-17). Here is a proper dissection of tactics and various other formations they used, including 18 ship COMBAT BOX developed in late 1943 / early 1944: 18 & 21 ship formations And since I do have substantial experience in flying large bomber formations in IL2, yes - holding a proper station all the time is not an easy task. Especially with wake turbulence those beasts left behind...

I'd pay 200$ for a DCS WWII: B-17 module... YW. :)

From KS: Hence such a leap between stretch goals. ;)

Any photos to supplement the story? :) Here are a couple of videos: ^^ R.I.P. Liberty Belle

[Review] Simped F16/USB vs. MFG Crosswind
[DBS]TH0R replied to [DBS]TH0R's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That is because the second batch has already been sold out. Milan is working on a new one. There is a 30 day delay of PayPal money transfer to his account (safety measure for new shops) and he can not order new materials for another batch until he has the funds. Best if you contact him through the website and reserve your S/N from the third batch. ;) -
For those that have pledged $40 or above...
[DBS]TH0R replied to ATAG_Bliss's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Back for me as well. Shouldn't be any. But better ask Milan via PM or through his website (email). -
Lets say the B-17 does make it in the end. Having gunner positions available in MP for the guys without the B-17 module would add another flavor to the sales - RoF has it and it was a step towards me purchasing heavy bombers in that sim. Bombardier and pilot/copilot positions should stay locked for the module owners naturally.
-
How many of you regularly fly medium/heavy bombers?
[DBS]TH0R replied to Geronimo989's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Most of the time. -
I beg to differ. B-17 is just half the cake. The rest it English coast and airfields. Providing this is done in 1:1 scale, and 8h missions are simply not feasible for the sake of flying to target and back (the map quality would suffer greatly, and emphasis end on using time-warp feature). I strongly vote for the B-17. On the contrary, moving the final stretch goal to the first place should result in more pledges IMHO.

Just do it! :D +1000

I was afraid you would answer that. Thanks. Hoping that some kind of workaround will be found in the future. If for nothing else, at least the AI.

[Review] Simped F16/USB vs. MFG Crosswind
[DBS]TH0R replied to [DBS]TH0R's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With shipping and without VAT, around 400$. Best if you email mr. Šimundža through his website for accurate info. He should reply under 24h. -
With clear emphasis on the ground attack (A-26, P-38, P-47, Typhoon etc.), the problem here is the AI. Currently it can move, see and fire through forest as if it wasn't there. In other words, if you fly over an AAA parked in the middle of the forest you will have a hard time spotting it while it can shoot back uninterrupted as if it was sitting in the middle of an open field. Add in the Combined Arms component, i.e. WWII variant of the same module and you can see where I am going with this... Even more so since the other camp has this problem solved with every single tree wielding a collision box around it. Or some other trick used to pull it off. It can be done without bogging down the whole system. There obviously is a way, meaning luthier's argument IMHO simply isn't valid. Someone correct me if I am wrong / please provide another explanation.

Just in case someone missed this: Win a brand new set of MFG Crosswind by backing up DCS WWII: Europe 1944 Kickstarter project! A thread here under DCS WWII section: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113343 -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944: Kickstarter Primer
[DBS]TH0R replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Talk about energy dissipation... Imagine his reaction if UbiSoft was involved again, lol. :D -
And how is that different from what we currently have? Trees are there just for show, AI sees straight through them as if it was glass and can fire as well.
-
What about excluding ground forces out of this collision box equation?

[DBS]TH0R replied to ATAG_Bliss's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Thanks & not at all. :) -
That plus the fact luthier's statement doesn't seem to be valid to me (and sounds exactly the same like the one we heard for CloD). Reason: RoF has every single tree as an obstacle and you can collide with it. Then again, I am also not a programmer. Some of this is already in the works, or so it seems (for Mi-8MTV2):

Interesting. But those pedals are to be used with helicopters, to get the best out of them if I am not mistaken. Mr. Šimundža posted an update on his website. Due to some unforeseen problems, the new batch has been pushed back for few days. IIRC it is also completely sold out, hence the "out of stock" message on the website. :)
