  1. Great initiative indeed! If you do not mind, for those who do not know what MFG Crosswind rudder pedals are, I will quote myself from the MFG Crosswind dedicated thread here at ED forums:
  2. Seconded and highly recommended. Although I would love to see the prop animation and Packard Merlin sounds corrected (read: perfected).
  3. I do hope that the contributions will not dry out. I've even posted about this on some other forums to help out, that are not flight sim related. At this pace my estimate is first stretch goal reached, or close to it. About the incentive... it sure is here, waiting for my paycheck to arrive so that I can transfer the money onto my foreign currency account. One would be crazy not to give this a chance, since I doubt we will see a European theater from the other camp.
  4. IMHO, it will seem strange for those who find this title (hoping that it succeeds) after a year time. It can be considered, in a way, that we are paying for those 3 free planes while the rest of the bunch will not. No that I have anything against that. It would have sounded more feasible to me, with all the complexity of a study type simulator, that only one of those planes is free after the core game is done. For the example Spitfire or had the documentation been available, 109G. If the first stretch goal is met, then the situation will naturally be different.
  5. First of all, thank you for starting this project. So far all of your explanations seem valid to me and do make sense. I do intend to pledge, but before I will wait until more questions are answered... This wouldn't stop me from pledging, but I will say this: the way we have it now in DCS is just for show. The AI can see, fire and move through trees as if they weren't there. This translates to the following: AI sitting in the middle of the forest can fire at you as if it was on an open field and you can not shoot back since it is nearly impossible to spot the bugger. In addition to what Tvrdi said, and with the obvious focus on ground attack in the DCS WWII - it would be a serious mishap not to have trees as solid obstacles for both AI and players & planes. Especially, and excuse me for comparing, but since RoF has tree collisions it is highly unlikely BoS will not have them.
  6. Hence me referring to the EDGE, not DCS WWII. This has put me away from any heli purchases thus far. If it isn't fixed (read: added) with the next engine it will remain the same way. Right now I consider this being the biggest flaw in DCS. The AI can see and shoot through trees and they are there just for show. Nothing less, nothing more. With the DCS WWII planeset, and obvious emphasis on ground attack, I do think this is a severe downside if we do not get trees as collideable objects and AI can again see through them.
  7. That is bad news. RoF has it, why can't EDGE?
  8. Great news indeed, and an excellent theater/year choice IMO. Lets hope they can pull it off. I for one would love to see the flyable B-17 and Tempest. Typhoon wouldn't go a miss either. :)
  9. FAQ Mr. Šimundža posted a FAQ about his pedals and future plans after the first batch reaches its customers: http://mfg.simundza.com/
  10. Thank you for moving the thread to a correct section.
  11. Referencing the SimHQ build and development thread. I'd like to present a Warthog among rudder pedals: A couple of things I would like to mention: Inability to adjust pedal width without ordering an extra plate really isn't a con (no pedals have that option), the better headline would be a WISH LIST. Coupled with that are the remarks about toe brakes - an icing on the cake would be a progressive spring here IMO. And last but not least, about the rudder use during takeoff in DCS: P-51D you can see in the video. It is a technique I saw watching this YT video: . For more information what actually happens during takeoff in a P-51D, you can read comments from a '51 pilot commenting on A2A's P-51D: P-51 tips from a real pilot. EDIT: After electronics update pedals now feature a bootloader, I am now running the latest firmwire: - The problem of high ID is now gone and the pedals will assume the very last ID in line. - Additionally, the pedals now feature auto calibration so that you can just plug them in and go do some flying.
  12. Seconded. Plus a nice roundup with the P-51D & Fw-190D9.
  13. No corrections to the external model as I can see, the cockpit looks spot on though.
  14. I generally lose some 10-15 FPS when firing 6 fifties. Couple that with FPS drop when the engine is running, and we end up with the least optimized DCS module. Let us hope 1.2.5 will bring in some optimizations.
  15. Just got back from DCS Israel server. When I switch on fuel boost - the whining starts. Weird... My first with 1.2.4. EDIT: Joined few more servers and hosted my own MP mission. I have this whine constantly on now.
  16. Good to hear. Thanks!
  17. When that changes, I will buy one of the heli modules. The new map is badly needed indeed.
  18. DBS is flying SEOW on Sundays, and this is a no go fur us until we finish the campaign. We will most likely join your server anyway, some time during the week.
  19. Just tested it and it is the same on my end.
  20. Thanks. I'll try to be there next Tuesday.
  21. Thanks. I will definitely try your server out next time I fire up DCSW. :) In comparison with the YT videos and A2A P-51D I think DCS got it more accurate. Still, as a possible improvement I would like to see some variety in thickness (thicker around the spinner and thinner around the blade edges). Right now the thickness (as you can see from my screens) is constant throughout the radius of the prop. IMO it should look more like this (same P-51 the sounds were recorded off apparently):
  22. Thanks, you could have added an actual attack with dumb bombs to the track. :) I am fully aware how to input wind drift and three different layers available in the sim. Was told previously that this is just for show. My question should have been: is wind drift correction fully modeled in the game and will we see changes to the dumb bomb accuracy when we properly input wind data now? Thanks (no.2)
