  1. You're right. I've only skimmed through the text. Swell...
  2. I guess this was inevitable. At least this matrix looks solid and that ED can pull it off. 20$ for any future module is fine by me. As long as they get done. That is all I care for now.
  3. The thought has crossed my mind, but I will do no such thing. I fly other planes next to P-51D and have no intention of constantly messing about my volume controls. Besides, in cockpit sounds should be slightly muted as to simulate / enable headphone use and radio comms. Stock game features this nicely.
  4. Add to the better sound (Diveplane covered low RPM grumble and flybys, nothing else), thicker prop blades, engine smoke - the removal of: For a true WWII bird.
  5. I didn't select Dora for DCS World, instead I chose alpha access with my 50$ pledge. If I don't get the Dora on 5th next month the above statement needs editing.
  6. Left throttle lever on TM Hog for power and right one for RPM. If you only have one throttle at your disposal, perhaps grabbing a throttle quadrant (Saitek or CH) would be a worthy investment on your end. Hvala. :)
  7. And thats where the problem lies. Diveplane's sound mod excels in low RPM grumble and flybys. The time I spend flying and fighting greatly outweighs the time I spend taxiing and watching flybys. Thus I switched back to the stock. I will consider this sound mod final If Diveplane can fine tune the engine sounds, both cockpit and externals, lowers the volume of the wheels on take off and balances them in combination with stock sounds. Until then IMHO, it is nothing more than great WIP.
  8. You can use 100% PP, I doubt the other late war birds will behave any different. The trick is to gradually increase power/throttle, don't just slam the thing wide open. One more reason not to cut power well before flaring IMO. Gives you more options if you have to go around. Thank you. Practice makes perfect. :)
  9. Seconded. Still, that doesn't mean we can't post our remarks and wish for improvement. Great as his sound mod is, its unbalanced and needs more work. WIP in my mind, and thus I switched back to the stock lawn mower.
  10. Best tip, especially if you're coming from a sim like IL2, is not to pull back on the stick when landing. Let the aircraft find the ground. The trick here is to get a feeling for where the ground is below your plane and finding a proper descent rate. No matter if you're doing 2 or 3 pointer. Also, cut power only after you have touched down and sure that you're rolling down the runway. At 25 RPM I like to touch down with about 15-20" of MP. Fast forward to 09:00 and observe stick and rudder movements on lower left: You can reset all trim for landing (i.e. us none), but if doing this for the first time I'd recommend using 1-1.5° nose down (helped me to overcome the tendency of pulling back on the stick, a habit from IL2 days). Have it mapped to the key, both trim and reset to neutral.
  11. Same here. Reverted to stock again. Low RPM growl in particular is amazing. High RPM sounds sound more as if the engine is running at above 30000 RPM and that tyre sound is way too loud. The sound change dependent on the position where you're standing should be there, albeit not so different. I like the prop wash sound, but the engine, again IMHO, is off. The sounds are also louder than stock sounds - not everyone is using other custom sounds and as result they feel unbalanced. All in all, definitely worth trying and huge step up from the stock lawn mower. :)
  12. Another propeller shot Some say image is worth a 1000 words: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=893002037383639&set=a.268870599796789.90450.213475292002987&type=1&theater
  13. I was too. Yet, I am not hearing what I'd like to. :) Not sure if we're allowed to post it here, just search YT for the A2A P-51 videos, namely "P51D Mustang Intro and Familiarisation". Should be on the top of the list - also recorded from the real thing.
  14. The above two images in my first post are off. After spending more with with DCS: P-51D, this is what the prop looks like 90% of the time throughout various power regimes / maneuvers / speed: For me, the DCS P-51D is awesome, but is missing that immersion factor. After a while it feels like what would best be described as a "perfectly calculated simulator without a soul". - No engine smoke on startup. - Engine sounds no where near the real thing. - Prop animation almost equal to IL21946 when viewed from 3/9 OC. Please bridge this gap and cement this title as a second to none virtual P-51.
  15. GTX 580 lightning, 1.5 GB VRAM. Planning to upgrade next year.
  16. I pledged with 50$ and would like to know the same thing.
  17. Tempest MKV? Release day purchase for me.
  18. NHF, but I've yet to hear a merlin in DCS.
  19. +1 I too have a wish list. :) PS: Any chance for that sound mod of yours being released soon diveplane?
  20. Thank you Wags for letting us know. The solely reason of my backing was ED's involvement in this, as it turns out a good failsafe option. Since dependent on the backing level 50$ equals all flyable plans for free in DCS WWII which is now delayed for over a year, does this mean we will have to purchase them again to have them flyable in DCS World? EDIT: I guess that answers my question...
  21. Epic video Eponsky_bot :D Some good tips there and should get anyone started. But myself, I find text book landings boring. :) Here is how you do a two pointer in a DCS P-51D, with a touch down speed about 140-150 indicated. In TF-51D you can touch down about 120-130. 22. Works for me. Tested off line only.
