  1. I'm not sure that has anything to do with RSBN though, if you mean the button of the front panel in both cockpits. That one seems to sync the GMK (gyro) with the current magnetic heading.
  2. My favourite, it's simple but well done from a module standpoint.
  3. I prefer the old way, it wasn't difficult to land if you learned how to do it and standing still with 90% worked ok. Now I burn 40-50 kilograms of fuel every minute during taxi.
  4. I flew the Mirage for the first time in a while today, so I can't really tell if this is something new or not. Anyway. I taxied out with the standard CAP load out and noticed the high thrust required to get the plane moving, which might be correct. But once rolling aircraft tend to keep going by momentum and idle thrust, this is not the case with this Mirage. You need to keep a relatively high amount of thrust just to keep it rolling and I believe this is wrong. I base this opinion on IRL experience from light and medium weight civil aircraft, other simulators and modules and the way a car decelerates slowly in neutral gear.
  5. Thanks for your input Gekkko, this makes me more certain that this is my favourite module. Well done and back to basics!
  6. Is there any way to use Simple Radio without running DCS?
  7. I think it will show a correct indication in STT.
  8. I think you need about 4 m/s from 090 to activate runway 09. You can confirm active runway on some fields by checking on which side the NDBs are active. Note that the wind setting in the editor is strange, you select the direction the wind is blowing rather than where it's coming from...like the rest of the aviation world.
  9. I'm not sure if the Hawk and C101 are comparable with L-39.
  10. If we all remain good boys maybe Cobra Claus will bring us something nice!
  11. The generalisation is only valid close to sea level, each unit of pressure represents a larger height deviation the higher you go. I don't know how accurate DCS is in this regard. It wasn't a problem in the Swedish archipelago were it was intended to be used...so all we need is a Swedish map!
  12. 1 millibar is also about 8 meters of elevation. If QNH is 1000 and your target is at an elevation of 80 meters, target QFE is then 990. You could also start from airfield QFE and work it out that way.
  13. On the fighter version of the Viggen they inhibited the speedbrakes completely, the switch on the throttle was used for something else, so one could guess they weren't very effective.
  14. I think the B-scope is focused on your current waypoint, and the antenna elevation has great impact on the image. But as you say, some feedback on current setting would be nice. Perhaps extra symbology along the edges? I have MKR mapped to an axis on my Warthog so that one works fine, but the elevation is not mappable yet iirc.
  15. I think the devs are pretty stressed already by the known and still unknown bugs associated with the release in 1.5.6. It's not that difficult to look through the manual and then make your own setup.
  16. We don't have the Viggen yet but sure, lets ask about modules that are even further away from release...
  17. Go multiplayer, it's the only way. I'm sure there's a Canadian DCS community out there.
  18. Sorry I forgot to add that into the first post since it was apparent in the track before I saved it. I was hovering at a height of about 17 meters over a spot between two trucks, very stable and clear of any obstacles. The entire tailboom just separated. This thread is a bit pointless without a working track file. Sorry.
  19. I was picking up some cargo when all of a sudden my tailrotor failed, I assumed I had hit something with the tailrotor but I was very curious to what I hit since I was pretty clear of obstacles so I watched the track. It turns out it just failed for no apparent reason...I will try to go back to the same area and see if there are hidden objects in the vicinity. But I'm out of gaming time for a few days now. Fast forward the track to 07:29, the crash occurs shortly before 07:30. EDIT: I just watched the track again to record it and it turns out it has been corrupted when I saved it... Mi-8 Tailboom failure.trk
  20. It started out as a hobby project back in 2012, leatherneck got impressed and they were absorbed into the team sometime later. Our community even flew a super early alpha a few times. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much more than the pictures on the left when they started in 2012. Great job!
  21. Preferably one with a scroll wheel, a 3 way switch and a trigger with two detents. An old X-52 sort of have two of those.
  22. Renhanxue, the "tie" indicates fuel required for the mission including reserve. Can't recall if alternate is included though. If it says 65% you should be able to start with 65%, fly your mission and then land with a reserve which you can define through an address code.
