  1. I've been meaning to create similar charts my self but couldn't be bothered earlier since the spark for IFR in my community has been faint, until recently when a few guys seem to be enjoying it. Thanks!
  2. Awesome picture Ramsay, mind if I borrow it sometime?
  3. Sometimes there is a fixed trim tab installed, which can only be changed on the ground. Perhaps this is the case.
  4. Thank you for the comments guys! 20 knots is possible but it gets messy unless you are really straightened out on touch down, I thought I'd show you something I could actually master (at least most out of 10 times ;) ). Perhaps I'm wrong about the importance of drift being zeroed out but that was how it felt when I tried it a few days ago :) Yes I have a license and I'm flying the 737, which I suppose differs from the L-39 so my opinions on its crosswind behaviour should be taken lightly. :music_whistling:
  5. She is kinda quirky on the ground. Normally I prefer the way the MiG-15 simulates differential braking but with this wind the MiG was harder to steer even during slow speed taxi.
  6. Hello! I made a quick video demonstrating crosswind take off and landing technique. An L-39 manual I found online stated max crosswind component at 20 knots but I find that very hard in DCS so I used 8 m/s, about 16 knots.
  7. I had the thing happen to me the other day, luckily it was during daylight VMC :)
  8. And push ED to fix the presentation of ground vehicle imposters.
  9. How about a joke on the subject? Why does the MiG-15 wear socks? Because otherwise he would freeze his pi-toes of...
  10. Great! I'm looking forward to diving down on unsuspecting Sabres.
  11. Often it's instant, though once I made it up to 15000 m and down to 12 000 before it froze.
  12. BTW I forgot to mention that the pitot heat was on from start up. Because the air is clear, no condensation has occurred. You will generally not encounter icing at such high altitudes unless there are storm cells near by, like AF447, and as far as I know we dont have storm cells of that magnitude in DCS.
  13. I would love a feature were you could take screenshots along your track in the editor and have them automatically exported to the kneeboard with some notes, maybe time and heading.
  14. Good my young padawan.
  15. How do you strap that on to a Sabre?
  16. Looking for features in the terrain and comparing it to the F10 map, it's as simple as that in theory. Practice makes perfect. Help me improve the visual navigation by bumping this thread please --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159810
  17. Is the pitot tube really supposed to freeze in clear and dry air conditions at altitudes above 40 000 feet? Edit: This is with pitot heat on.
  18. Nice to get some inputs from someone with credibility! When I went from Huey to Hip I had the same problem but now I have learned when the dangerous part occurs, and it's much later than I would think coming from the Huey. I initially thought the same thing, this seems dangerous, but later assumed it was due to the missing "seat of the pants". I can't claim myself to be an expert with my 20 minutes of hovering time in a Hughes 269 but if I recall correctly the guy who created the Mi-8 for DCS flies the Hip IRL.
  19. Hello! I'm missing the old level of details when zooming in and out in the F10-map. Look at my screenshots below. The image with most details is taken in the editor, this is more or less how it was in the F10 map before DCS 1.5. It was much easier to navigate since you weren't forced to zoom in to see roads and other details. I don't really know if this is a bug or a feature.
  20. Like all the BST modules in my opinion.
  21. And make the forums explode? :music_whistling:
  22. Those were the days...:joystick:
  23. Great job Devrim, I can't wait to get back home tomorrow and try it :)
