  1. that's already known http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2256929#post2256929
  2. I don't want in (already have it), just want to say Good Luck everyone and love the pictures!
  3. Because they're in the works and these things take time?
  4. I think his complaint is the modern fighters we currently have do not have advanced system modelling?
  5. I was disappointed with some decisions in IL-2: BOS so now I really hope we can get a better DM and they can churn out a map and some ground units. With a couple more aircraft (which are obviously in the works) I think they can be competitive. I mean BOS only has 10 flyables at the moment, so even 5 or 6 isn't too bad. We need the DM improvements yesterday though. Right now smattering an opponent with rounds and having him continue to fly like it's all good in his neighborhood not only lacks realism, but is also immensely frustrating. I mean I can still get kills, and if I can do it anyone can, but it should not be that kind of experience. The Hip, Huey, Sabre, Fishbed, and Fagot are also starting to flesh out the Vietnam-ish era as well, which is great. Sure they may not be the exact variants, but close enough for my concern. So very good. Besides me have the F/A-18C, Mirage 2000C S-5, and maybe even a whiskey cobra ( I dont think Belsimtek has admitted to any definite plan with regards to version of the cobra, but the poll results seemed to be pretty overwhelming, so I can dream), so we're getting stuff everywhere and for every time frame. No complaints from me.
  6. I can also vouch for the Samsung ones being reliable. I've had varioud 840 (evo and non-evo) size and models in different systems and never had a problem. The big thing I saw, that others commented on and so I was looking for, was the reduction and ellimination of micro stutters from what is probably textures or data being loaded from disk. As previous said, it wont elliminate multiplayer stutters. The bigest thing I notice is when another player hops in a new jet it's almost guranteed. But again probably better than with a spinning disk...
  7. You'd have to buy a license for the module to use it. There's no point to it though. The individual FC3 aircraft modules are intended only for people who dont want to buy all of FC3. Maybe if all the FC3 aircraft get advanced systems modelling and/or when they are all available individually they will stop offering FC3. I dont know. I dont know if ASM is in the picture for these aircraft or what the end game is. If you just want an A-10A though and nothing else in FC3 it is a better value to grab the individual aircraft. If you have FC3 though there is no point at all.
  8. Dont need to. FC3 A-10A is the same rhing.
  9. Maybe it is a combination of scarcity and aircraft operating at high enough altitude to avoid them where possible? With hogs going back we could see more pictures of hogs surviving damage from missiles, AAA, whatever. But think about it, attack and bombers dropping LGB's from 15000 feet have little to fear from MANPADS...
  10. This looks interesting. My head is already swimming with the idea of setting up a UFC, MFD buttons, etc. for the A-10C and doing similar for other aircraft. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/620560346/101touch-the-new-generation-of-keyboard I don't know how great typing would be on it, but it might be a nice replacement for a keyboard for flying, especially if you can assign custom key presses to keys/buttons. I've asked them if something like a button that can send LCtrl+LShift+Num0 (since it's one of the more complex examples I can think of, and would be used for the UFC) would be possible to define. I expect yes, but will wait to see what they say before I back it.
  11. Wrong forum, please ignore :/
  12. Yes, just remember keys you buy from the ED store will not work with Steam; some keys were grandfathered in, but Valve no longer does this so if you buy it from the Eagle Dynamics store don't expect it to work in Steam. Bought from Steam and used with standalone, as already stated a couple times, does work. Steam has been around for quite some time; aside from accounts with poor passwords, etc. and a couple moderate incidents (read the security section on the wiki above) there hasn't been anything too severe. Nothings impossible though. Edit: or what cichlidfan posted since he beat me to it.
  13. I don't necessarily think that it's how most people play DCS or buy modules, however it is an option. A lot of games come out exclusively via Steam or it is the best download source so it is desirable for many games. It's also a DRM model that is less obnoxious than Starforce, but it will get you nowhere with DCS since you still have to activate modules via Starforce. It's not common that games via Steam also add their own DRM, but hardly unheard of. It doesn't add to anything in multiplayer either really, since DCS in no way supports invites via Steam, etc. Modules often come out on Steam a little later than the ED store as well, so people with Steam installs tend to have to wait a bit longer for them. I think Steam is mostly another vector for them to introduce customers to the wonderful world of DCS. The big thing about Steam is when there are updates for your games it pretty much just downloads them so your already up to date. Some games support multiplayer invites via steam, etc. If you ever need to reinstall your game on a new computer, or even a second computer you can just download it via Steam. No keeping track of licenses and keys and all that nonsense for the most part either. Your library is yours. And there is even family sharing so that if you have a game others can play it on their computer when you are not and lots of other features. It's definitely not the worst thing in the world.
  14. You can buy on steam and use with the standalone... just start installing, purchase, grab licensefrom cd key list, remove, and go about installing it as you normally would...
  15. Probably if you just start installing it will be enough. I think you need to have the install started to see your key too. There may be another way, but right clicking on the steam install(ed/ing) version is the only way I know how. You can stop it and remove it once you copy the key down
  16. Ah, so the way I do it I do not need aft short; needless extra step. Thanks! Edit: and come to think of it, the video I learned how to use FC from the guy was slewing the maverick around so makes sense that he would do that. I just adapted it to my preference of using the TGP to set a SPI
  17. I do boat forward , boar center, tms aft, tms forward. Maybe I am doing it wrong or adding a step I dont need, but that is my procedure...
  18. This book is 40 years old and hasn't been updated in 20. It has a lot of critics today for being no longer relevant, especially on large projects.
  19. I think I realize how important revenue is for them, regardless of whether it is from this, modules, edge or anything else. They obviously think this will make money and edge (by way of additional maps) will make money. Edge will take longer than this obviously did. But like I said, I won't buy campaigns and to me the morbid curiosity question was, is there really a market for it? It wasn't a criticism of the idea; just from my POV surprising that there is a market for it. Anyway, if all I'm going to do is get badgered for asking and suggesting that there could possibly be even one person working on one that could be working on the other I'll drop it. It really wasn't _that_ important to me. (Edit: and for the record I am fine with the fact that money pays the bills and the people that work; EDGE gets ED and it's employees nothing if it doesn't bring in money; most companies and people can't and won't work for nothing; simple economics and reality of life)
  20. I buy that line in some cases. I do not believe a guy that does art work programs and vice versa. But when it comes to developing a new system to implement pay campaigns or debugging problems in EDGE I tend to believe there may be some overlap. Maybe I'm all wrong, but I am not always convinced.
  21. I wish hands and time putting in pay-ware campaign support were dedicated to getting EDGE functional instead. I don't know about others, but I don't even play the campaigns we get now and you'll almost certainly never get me to drop money on one I have to pay for... I'll collect planes and even maps like a kid with a pokemon addiction, but not campaigns... But realizing I am not the center of the universe to anyone but me maybe others feel differently? Just seems like an odd tactic to me. I never underestimate my capacity to be the weird one though.
  22. Also, is there a way to set sane altitudes for flight? It seems choppers are OK, never straying ridiculously high, but huge bombers and cargo planes are practically scraping the ground. It looks odd...
  23. Can additional client slots be opened up like this? I have written up a mission or two for small groups of people (3-4), where their is an A-A component, SEAD, and then finally ground attack. It's more enjoyable if people fly a part of the mission together, so if I could adapt this to where say, we go up in F-15C's to start, once the mission objective for them is complete Su-25T's spawn for SEAD, once their objective is complete, A-10C's, Ka-50's, whatever spawn kind of thing.
  24. TeamSpeak running? If so try closing it. There is a press to talk setting that can mess with Saitek software. It's on the press to talk page; you want Keyboard & Mouse only from bottom drop down if it turns out to be the issue; anyway it results in all manner of flaky hotas problems, so wouldn't be surprised.
  25. http:// http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/12/mach-2-hair-on-fire-ars-flies-the-navys-fa-18-sim-into-the-danger-zone/ From a tech site I follow.
