  1. have you tried connecting your gaming PC through a VPN (like Private Internet Access for example) ? I think the 2 machines cannot share the same public IP. Maybe we are forwarding too many ports to the dedicated server so the gaming PC can't receive a proper server query.
  2. I think I've found the answer to my issue. I'm copying and pasting my findings froma different thread. It turns ous HC_official a few replies above was right all along. For a local MP public server, you have to connect locally ! Ok I've made good progress, and finally understood why I can't see my MP server from my gaming PC. It's only network logic. My Dedicated server PC has all the server ports forwarded from my public IP to its local IP by the router. So far so good. My gaming PC has the same public IP but a different local IP. It cannot query my local server via the MP interface because they share the same public IP and nothing is sent back to the gaming PC on this address and port because of the routing. The only way I could see my MP server was by connecting my gaming PC through a VPN which provides a fake public IP. Since the Server and the Gaming PC are on a different public IP, the server shows up in the list. But that's actually useless, a local direct connection to the server local IP is working fine. It's even better since there's no lag induced by going out through a vpn and bouncing back to the server. The VPN was just there to prove my point and unerstand the logic. All in all, even if my server is not showing in the MP interface, it's actually showing to people with a different public IP which is perfectly fine for a public server.

  4. bump... still having this issue Is something broken in dedicated server atm ?
  5. My answer is a short one : definitely yes, go for it ! I had the exact same specs Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB and GTX1070 and discovered VR with a Quest2. I have since upgraded to an RTX3060TI FE which is in the 3070 ball park. This was a great improvment. I have no solid data nor FPS logged to prove my point, but even if I got badly scalped in the process, this is an upgrade I will never regret. You know as well as I am that when you have tasted VR simulation there is no turning back. A 3070 will give you the much need headroom to tune your VR settings.
  6. Just received mine 2 days ago. Flawless installation and idiot-proof instruction. You have one more happy customer. The Hornet TDC is sooooo much better now.
  7. Restriction flag ? We are making progress here, I'm not even aware of this parameter. All I can do is selecting a (poor) loadout preset I see no ways of customizing my loadouts. All I did in the mission Editor is adding 3 more slots on the carrier fo MP purpose. Is this a slot parameter or a general option to set in the mission editor. I'm at work ATM, but I will check this evening. Thank fou for tipping me in this direction Lukas
  8. Do we have a rough idea of the percentage of affected ppl ? Is everybody impacted ? I suppose the fps drop is a massive blow for low specs rig owner and VR enthusiasts. ATM I resist updating my steam version.
  9. Sorry for stating the obvious, I'm fairly new to TTI. When spawning on the supercarrier deck with an F18, it seems my BVR loadout choice is limited to AIM7 and old AIM9. I'm a bit surprised, no amram no aim9X ? Is it intended or do I miss an option somewhere ? Is there a way to modify the preset loadouts ? Thank you for your insights
  10. Thank you immensely for taking the time to write such a detailed post Darktrooper. Unfortunately there is nothing I haven't already double-checked. 1- My FAI is providing me a full stack public IP, port 8088 TCP, port 10308 TCP and UDP are correctly forwarded to my server local IP. 2- I'm running the latest stable version on both game client and dedicated server, they are on the same LAN. I can connect to the server by entering "local_IP":10308 + pwd and it's working perfectly like that. But server is not showing on MP servers list 3- I have checked with the PS netstat command, the server is actualy listening to the ports 10308 and 8088 (my PID is different though, I have 10336), I have opened the ports on the server firewall, both inbound and outbound. I have even turned off the FW completely for a short time to make sure. 4- Public setting is checked, and my server appears over here https://dcs.glowie.xyz/servers?sort=Country:ASC I would say it behaves as if the port forwarding rules were not enabled on the router. But it's been triple checked, and it was working before with exactly the same configuration. All I did was updating DCS (client and server side)
  11. Why is that ? As long as your port forwarding is properly configured you should be able to take the "long way home" and connect via your public IP. In any case, the server should be visible on MP servers list. I have the same exact issue : dedicated server on my LAN is visible there https://dcs.glowie.xyz/servers but I can't find it in MP game. The versions are the same and I can connect through local IP. I'm running latest DCS stable version, and everything was working as intended a few months ago.
  12. Same issue here, my server is running on a dedicated PC with proper port forwarding. The server is showing there : https://dcs.glowie.xyz/servers?sort=Country:ASC It's nowhere to be found in game in the MP server list. I have checked the version of the dedicated server which is the same as the game client If trying to connect via extrernal IP address, I have "Server offline" error message I can still connect the game client with the local IP address of the dedicated server. So no version issue here
  13. That makes sense ! Crossing fingers....
  14. Was a pilot body ever mentionned by the devs at some point in a roadmap ?
  15. Again, thank you very much for your help Badger. I wasn't too sure about point 5.0, it also turns out I forgot to fuze my JSOW. Soooo unfortunate. This was a fantastic mission. The kind you remember with fond memories. Sunrise over Iran while climbing angels 30 is unforgettable. Especially after low insertion in enemy territory under NVG. It's so immersive in VR, it's almost like I was there for real. I'm looking forward to flying the next mission, hoping the sequel for this campaign is well under way. TBH I'm hooked since Serpent's Head 1. It's no surprise, but great job Badger !
  16. Thank you Badger, so far this is what I have figured out. And yes I have read the mission brief toroughly. I really happen to enjoy reading the brief on pdf format before launching the sim. It adds so much to the immersion. My issue is probably a lack of knowledge or practice in the JSOW department. What I don't know : Do I need to update the coordinates of the JSOW once the TGP is spot on the mig ?
  17. Hi there, I'm not completely sure of what I should do with the JSOW in this mission. I have four of them, are they all necessary ? It seems WP 4 is way off the plane I need to target. So is my poor attempt at a bombardment. What should I do exactly ? I suppose I need to use the FLIR pod to pinpoint precisely my target. But then what ? Are the GPS coordinates automaticaly "uploaded" to the JSOW, so I just need to launch them within parameters ? Do I need to modify the coordinates in the mission page, or maybe there is a way to slave the JSOW to the pod. Not too sure about "WPDSGN", is it waypoint designate or weapon designate ? A few cues would be welcome ! Thank for the help
  18. Here we are again on memory lane ! I also remember the atari combat cartridge with those fabulous biplans duels. It blew my mind. Then the CPC 464, my first computer. I remember falling instantly in love with Strike Force Harrier which was running in demo loop at the local mall. That was instant buy. Then there was Gunship which was fantastic on the cpc. There is no VR session where I'm not thinking about 10yrs old me discovering flight sims. I can't help myself wondering what would have been my reaction under VR.
  19. I have played a little bit with IPD settings and found out the perfect setting. Looking down at my rendered pilot body, there is no awkward sense of being a kid or a giant crammed in a kid's pit. I just feel it's me in a Hornet ! So I guess I'm right in the IPD sweetspot. On a side note, I'm a long time simmer, 35yrs ago I was already simming with an amstrad CPC, so yes, I know about the relation between FOV and perceived speed thx to periphereal vision. But right now i have dropped 2D and track IR, for VR and there is no possible turning back to flat screen. I guess I'm good to cope with my Quest2 narrow FOV for some time. Maybe there is a mod that reduces tree models. As mentioned above, The sense of speed is back when flying over road traffic with proper sized cars... IMO there is something wrong with the trees ^^
  20. You just confirmed what I was suspecting all along. Trees are oversized because they are all represented at max achievable heights, which is a bit unrealistic. I've never thought about proportion issue of enlarged specimen. That's clever and well observed. I think the devs should have sticked with a median size or a gaussian distribution of different sizes. I would happily trade scarcer forests for a little more sense of speed. But that's just me ^^
  21. Hello, I'm not sure it's been discussed before, so in advance sorry for digging an old thread. I fly exclusively the mighty Hornet in VR. I happen to really like flying very low altitude, but I find the sense of speed leaves much to be desired when flying over trees. I don't have this impression when flying over cities (Las Vegas is my playground for such dangerous activities), but above the country side, the plane feel slugish to me even at 600+ knots. I suspect the scaling of trees being the culprit, whenever I fly over a road with traffic : cars and trucks are bringing back a correct scale perception, and therefore speed. TLDR : are trees rendered way too big in order to compensate for their low number ? Could be me as well and my very own 3D perception. I have played with the IPD settings to get a proper cocpkpit size. But I sense there is something wrong with the trees which seems definitely too big for me
  22. I have tried Oculus 2 + W11 combination... Had the stuttering issue and overall bad performance on a 3060ti +Ryzen 3600 +32GB VR has become unplayable. Since the 14 days rollback window was expired, I had to Reinstall my PC from scratch in order to go back to W10 I definitely wouldn't recommend
  23. I could be wrong but I believe the rendered 3D model is not used in real time to compute the flight model. This explain why some have flown with folded wings. In the same manner I don't think the damage modeling interaction with FM is based on the plane 3D render. Again, I'm no dev, and this is only a guess.
