  1. I'm so happy for you. Maybe, in your next lesson, you could learn some manners? Just a thought ;)
  2. If this conversation continues, There endeth the existence of common sense in the known universe.
  3. Maybe we want to stop the loonies escaping :joystick:
  4. Yep, it happens. I've been flying formation aerobatics and display flying for 8 years now and I still make mistakes. I'll go to 'buzz' a friend and slightly clip him or misjudge it completely and kill us both. Accidents do happen and we should all accept that it's a part of online play. It's just the deliberate rule breakers who try to ruin everyone's fun that need to be sorted out.
  5. "Shit happens" dude - although I appreciate the apology any and offer my own. I tend not to use ATC on line as 50% of people ignore it anyway... Either way, all in good fun.
  6. On the contrary, it was done to prove that it could be done. With DCS being opened up to 3rd Party Develops, it opens the door for them to develop this type of aircraft by showing them the way. It may be a little out of place now, but wait a few months and there will be more content for us all to use.
  7. Very cool, Kato - nice work!
  8. I think a part of the problem is that a lot of kids from FSX have moved over since Gamespy closed down, recently. Running the Virtual Aerobatics server, I see countless people come in and intentionally ram people on the ground - sure, it earns them a permanent ban, but I shouldn't be having to ban people for such stupid things anyway. One thing I've learned so far is that whether it's multiplayer in DCS, another simulator or any other aspect of life, for that matter, there will always be idiots that choose to spoil the fun for the majority who abide by the rules. We have plenty of low fly bys and people "buzzing" the airfield and yes, occasionally it can go wrong - but if it's not intentional, it's not a problem - to borrow a common phrase "Shit happen". It's a shame that there are a few people that feel the need to act that way, but those few are not enough to stop me from flying online. If I were you, I would find yourself a squad or a good group of guys to fly with and just stick with them - it's far more enjoyable working online as part of a team than by yourself and, if you know everybody there, you know you're not going to have an issue with idiots. The Virtual Aerobatics server has pretty clear rules... We've had countless people join, add weapons to their aircraft and shoot down entire formations, bomb the airfield causing lag for everybody or deliberately crash into other members and then claim that they didn't realise there was no combat in the servers. Personally, I find that very hard to believe. These people expect to join a server, push a button and go fly - In my opinion, DCS is not where they should be, if that is what they want to do. It is hugely frustrating, but for every idiot out there, there are several hundred members who abide by the rules and have a good time. We strictly moderate our server on a 1 warning, 1 ban policy and we're slowly getting less and less people in that choose to break the rules. Don't let the few stop you from enjoying the good times with the many ;)
  9. A few images from a training flight we did today in the VA server :)
  10. Great to hear, Whisky. You're welcome any time :)
  11. It is with great pride that I can announce the launch of our new website, http://www.virtual-aerobatics.com. Virtual-Aerobatics.Com provides a place for pilots of any skill level to chat / fly with one another and share our great hobby of online formation & solo aerobatics. Not only do we provide an area for pilots to meet one another and share team media / news, we also host a 32 Slot dedicated DCS World server (kept current to the latest version) and a dedicated teamspeak server to aid pilots in their flying. Over the last 4 weeks, several elements have had to come together to make this possible. An initial idea from members of the Virtual Horsemen and the Virtual Blue Angels came to fruition as Pman & Max offered to provide the dedicated server and Double_D, of the Virtual Tuskegee Airmen, agreed to provide the use of his Teamspeak server. Even before the site was launched, there was a great feel of members of the community working together for the benefit of others. Our dedicated server operates on a 200mb DL / 25mb UL line and has been operational for the last 3 weeks with several members of different teams and members of the public frequenting it. A large variety of formations have been possible and a lot of interest has been generated in the virtual aerobatics community. We hope to see you on our forums and look forward to flying with you all on our server. Rock, VAS Staff.
