I have tried switching the awacs to a different plane and back as seen on another thread but I still get no indication of a surveillance aircraft on the SA page and no contacts sent over datalink. not sure what I did wrong. D/L is on in the hornet AWACS is in the air, with awacs as task and eplrs on in editor awacs not contributing.trk

because there is the release build and then stuff they're still doing in builds ahead of release we will see later.
-
that was my thought. sounds simple enough to put in since the tech already exists. I was helping my friend make hornet skins before and this was the issue for those too. skin for every person is a fair bit of work

I was going to post this if someone hadnt yet. I find the vanes pretty awesome and very useful and will be sad if not in the a. at least visually
-
not exactly. they are always controlled by the computer. but they open sooner in the schedule if you are in bomb mode
-
I know it is. though I was thinking since HB deal with their own aircraft it could be done on their end until ed puts it in globally

this made me laugh. and makes me want to watch that movie again

the "USAF Aggressor" country has most of the stuff in DCS. I imagine you can put 14s there too

I have no issues with people with wanting the option. though when said reasons just dont make sense or based on false information then theres a need to correct that so future readers do not start believing the bad information. not saying dont have the option but at least dont spread misinformation.

this gave me an idea and im sort of surprised its not a thing already. we can already change the side numbers of aircraft why not the names on the canopy? what if the plane could read the player name in the seat so if "Bill" was pilot his name would show up on the canopy based on your dcs MP name and if a player joined as RIO it would replace the Jester label? unlikely but that would be pretty cool and save repainters some work making a plane for each pair in a squadron for example and is a bit of personalization tech that could be applied to other aircraft possibly. seems like it could be the same tech used to change the side #s so I cant imagine it would be too hard to do. and if names cant be read like that then maybe a field to enter them on the loadout screen like with board #s? (please no delays because I had an Idea  )

AYYYY my group of friends got some Tomcat art too! also GREAT NEWS! been looking forward to it for ages!

well I know what the first failure im going to test is! really though I am super curious now. anyone know why? if theres no power, avionics shouldnt be generating heat and shouldnt need cooling. what would cook off the ammo?

im gonna be the weird guy and say I like the aardvark paint. slightly biased since they were on the same carrier as my dad though he didnt get to work on/with them (dad was a red shirt)

maybe try it before saying its evil ai? you dont know how omniscient it is until actually testing it ourselves. if its still a huge issue then ask for a disable option but you're lumping jester in with default ai which work very differently from each other as far as I can tell. Jester could be way better at being human than you expect but we have to wait and see. no one will be abusing anything until we better know how it works and what exactly he's capable of. dont get me wrong everyone has a preference and thats fine. but judging something and saying its broken before you've even tried it is more than a bit unfair

typo in the radar altimeter bit section To energize the self-test circuitry press and hold the control know and the green test light will illuminate should be knob I believe was a great read on my flight home today though!

Me: lands on carrier feeling good about myself HB: "you've just activated my trap card!"

ok that did it. I forgot about that freq window since I never used it. every other time I had to tell something to use a frequency it was through waypoint/special actions and commands so I just forgot it existed
-
yes? they always do but its not really to do with that the carrier in dcs has a default frequency which the LSO frequncy in the script matches. if you play the demo mission provided that frequency is set to button 7 which is 270 MHz. if you just make a mission and add the script, it tells you button manual 127.5 being the carrier's default frequency. since you can not change that frequency in the mission editor at least as far as I can find... I am asking how it was done so I can set the script to use a preset button frequency instead of manual entry every time in my own mission
-
how did you change the carrier/lso frequency in your demo mission? when I set up the script the lso is always button manual 127.5. how do I change it to a preset button number?
-
awesome! been on my wishlist for DCSdcs since we got the new carrier system. was missing VLSO from fsx so I'm really glad its coming! now just need it in all the carrier planes what about the LSO comments section?
-
side note but the sparking you mentioned on the f-18 is actually rain being lit up by the AB effect. not part of the burner effects themselves. look around the plane and you can see more rain
-
honestly I think its fine how it is though cant try it in vr til I get home. but the ball is called and therefore should be visible at 3/4 miles which so far it has been and I can see it well before that. even there it is pretty easily tell if high or low and just gets better as you close in. I actually zoom out my view so I can see outside the canopy frame and have been getting consistent 2 and 3 wires which im fairly proud of since im out of town and stuck using a 360 controller

T/O trim button works even with flaps in auto. goes to the same value as the other settings

the effect happens in daytime as well. it doesn't show up well at mid day but can see it with daylight remaining. sure its probably less intense to the eye but we should still see something. I screen capped the images off of a couple videos so they aren't just long exposure shots. here's an example showing guns at 3 different times of day:
