  1. It was only meant to work with the BDU-33 Practice Bombs.
  2. Admittedly, I did not test it very thoroughly. I'll give it another try this weekend.
  3. The only one I really fly right now is the C-101. But if I was forced, I'd probably have to go with the F-18.
  4. Ripple bombing is only meant for the practice bombs. I'm not sure if that is fully working though. When I last tried it, changing the ripple setting didn't seem to have on impact on how the practice bombs dropped.
  5. DCS C-101 by AvioDev - Damage model affects now to Flight Model (WIP). For now, you can see: Balance and yaw moments and lift and drag forces, due to the loss of parts of the wings. Engine fire (only EB). - Fix in damage model: Parts that are detached do not appear now duplicated, that is, connected to the airplane body at the same time. - Added pylons damage model. - Fixed N1, N2 and ITT indication with MPR in C-101CC. - Added patch to left arm of pilots (it was missing). - Fixed AGA patches. - Fixed patches of internal model. Thanks for the update, guys! Some good stuff there. MPR now works at the higher altitudes! And I had a lot of fun ripping pieces off my Aviojet yesterday to test the damage model. My tests included putting tanks and B-17s on the runway and trying to clip pieces off my wings and tail at 60 kts and then trying to take off with the damage. Love how the C-101 reacts when it hits something. Very convincing. As for the post-damage flight model, there was a very obvious roll tendency with a clipped wing that worsened the more damaged the wing was which I was happy to see. I noticed however that the ailerons still worked even when they were ripped off. I guess that hasn't been worked on yet. Also, when I ripped half the vertical tail off, I didn't really notice any instability in the yaw axis. But anyways, nice work on the D.M. Really looking forward to seeing it progress!
  6. Yup, everything works perfectly in the latest open beta branch.
  7. It was on the latest release version. I'll try downloading the latest patch for Open Beta and see if it makes a difference.
  8. I believe you have to purchase it as it has a lot of new content.
  9. Looks like a WIP damage model for the C-101 has been released in today's open beta patch.
  10. ok. fyi, I found a couple of work arounds. If you place a C-101CC and then change it to a C-101EB, then the special options tab is available. Also, if you can't select a player controlled C-101EB, place any other aircraft on the map and make it player controlled. Then you can select the C-101EB again and change its properties. Make sure to make the C-101EB player controlled again once it has focus.
  11. great news! On a separate note, I found a few mission editor bugs with the C-101EB. First, once you place a player controlled C-101EB on the map and deselect it, you can't select it again. Same thing if you open a mission with a player controlled C-101EB. C-101CC works fine funny enough. Second, the C-101EB doesn't seem to have the special options available, for example, solo flight or IFR hood. Again, it works fine for C-101CC. Third, the default smoke system payload in the weapons selection screen seems messed up. It has a red colourant where white smoke should be. I had to create a custom payload for the smoke to work properly. Thanks for all the hard work! :)
  12. I wonder if you have the 'hear like in helmet' option checked. That makes things quieter.
  13. This is normal as you gain air speed.
  14. Probably known but the flap and air brake motor sounds now seem to be missing. Also, can this thread be stickied?
  15. And of course there are the VORTAC stations which are obviously combined VOR stations and TACAN stations and give both bearing / course and distance. The Nevada dog fight mission makes use of a VORTAC to help you navigate back to base.
  16. This is my understanding for the CC ... NDB: gives bearing information through ADF radio VOR: gives course / bearing information through NAV radio VORTAC: gives course / bearing / DME information through NAV radio set to DME TACAN: gives DME information through NAV radio set to DME
  17. Just a low-priority request but I was wondering if we could have consistency in the way the click-to-rotate buttons behave. In the CC, it seems the radio buttons turn counter-clockwise with a left button click and clockwise with a right button click. But on the weapons arming panel, it's the opposite. And on the EB, the radio buttons turn clockwise with a left button click and counter-clockwise with a right button click. My personal preference would be that all the dials turn counter-clockwise with a left button click and clockwise with a right button click. But I mainly just request consistency. My small brain gets confused.:D
  18. No. It was never meant for that. But really none of the trainers can "properly" land on a carrier. It's a fun bird anyways. I recommend it.
  19. From the news letter ... "We plan to release both the Christen Eagle II and the C-101 into Steam in February 2019."
  20. Great to hear! So, I assume it will be in the next released patch (not today's)?
  21. I have an old joystick so not a lot of buttons on mine. I use the hat as airbrake extend / retract. And I have assigned one of my joystick buttons as a modifier which changes the hat to act as a trim button. Or you could do the reverse. EDIT: Plus the advantage is you can control how much air brake you want. Good for formation flying where you might just want to drop a few knots.
  22. A couple of reasons: First, there is no toggle brake in the real aircraft. Second, the brake toggle causes the aircraft to trim uncontrollably because the air brake system is linked to the trim system.
  23. enjoy the vibrating rudder pedals. :)
  24. Calm down. Valentines is still a ways away.:music_whistling:
  25. There seem to be a few VOR/DME stations in the Persian Gulf map but maybe they're not implemented.
